Vance landed on the deck and automatically felt sick to his stomach. Boats had to be a vehicle he didn't have a lot of trouble with, but he still didn't like them. "Hand over mia before I destroy this boat." He threatened.
The scientist had been standing in front of Mia, a knife to her stomach so she wouldn't talk. "You wouldn't want to do that young dragon slayer. The chains on Mia's wrists can withstand even the coldest of your kind's breath." He said, moving aside to show him the barely conscious Mia. He traced the tip of the knife along Mia's cheekbone and down to her throat where he stopped, the blade just barely touching her skin.
"Don't you touch her with that!" He ordered. "What do you want?"
"Oh you no, nothing too big." The scientist thought for a moment, a smile spreading on his face. "Your wings will do fine." He said after a minute or two, trailing his knife back up Mia's face. It appeared that she didn't know what was going on, her mind a complete fog.
"And what exactly do you want my wings for? As soon as I take them off only I can use them." Vance said, trying to keep his balance and calm.
"Just as a trophy. Oh, and so you will no longer be able to fly." The scientist said cheerfully, unlocking the chains to Mia. "You can have Mia back now." He said, stepping to the side. "But I would give me your wings soon, the poison in Mia is strong enough to kill even a werewolf like her."
Vance sighed. "Fine, if it means saving mia." Vance took the pair of wings off of his back and put them on the ground.
The scientist smiled and waved the man from before forward, his hand now in a bandage. In a quick movement, he shoved a new needle into her neck, the one that supposedly held the antidote. "If you had gotten here sooner she might have had a greater chance to live, even with the antidote." The scientist said, picking up Vance's wings and hopping into an lifeboat. "Good bye for now, young dragon slayer." He laughed, cutting the ropes on the boat.
Mia lay on the ground in front of the captains cabin, unmoving despite having the antidote flowing through her veins now.

Vance walked over to mia and picked her up, holding her close. "I have to sneak you back and get you healed before your father notices. Please be alright." Vance jumped up and a second pair of bone wings appeared on his back. "Fools, my wings are made of magic. Time to get out of here." Vance flew back to the medical tent and put her in bed.
Mia floated in and out of consciousness as they headed back towards the tent, a single word escaping her lips before she finally fell unconscious. "Cabin." She murmured, her head resting against the soft sheets of the medical tent.
"What was there you were looking for?" Vance asked her as he set her on top of a medical cot.
Instead of an answer, Mia's head rolled softly on the pillow. She was unconscious, soon to be dead because the scientist hadn't put the right amount of antidote into her.
Vance saw nothing was happening that showed that she would be okay, Vance flew to the cabin to search for an answer. "I know there's an answer here. Mia said something about it before she passed out."
A short stout man sat in the back of the cabin, vials and beakers all around him. He had been out when the young werewolf was attacked, the only reason he knew about it was because of the puddle of blood he had cleaned earlier. Mixing a couple of chemicals together, he put a small label on it. "Mia." It said in permanent marker, he put it on the counter beside him and looked at the small watch he had on his fat wrist. "3...2...1..." He counted down, waiting for Vance to crash through the locked front door.
Vance punched the door open and was confused by the appearence of the man. "wait, who are you?"
"I'm Thomas." Thomas said pointed to the beaker on the corner of the desk where the beaker sat. "Take it and give it to Mia within the next 10 minutes or she will be gone forever." He said, not bothering to look at Vance as he spoke. He mixed more chemicals together and put them into another beaker, handing it to Vance. "This one should get rid of the remainder of the silver in your veins."
Vance took both bottles from Thomas and turned to leave. "Thank you Thomas, I owe you one." He said as he flew away to the med tent.
Thomas smiled, "Just pass the love on." He said, seeming to disappear along with his other stuff.
Vance landed in front of the tent and walked in. "Mia I brought the real antidote!" He said happily as he opened the door of the the tent.
Mia had just surfaced to consciousness, vomiting all over the floor in front of the cot. "You found him." She said, her face a sickly green color. It had taken him nine minutes to get back to the tent and they had less than a minute to give her the antidote.
