The girl listened to the man talk, sitting on the seat across from him. She took off her muddy boots and socks and stuffed them under the seat, letting her little toes breathe. When the ship shook she jumped into the man's lap, her short arms wrapped around his torso.

he held her close to comfort her and looks at the pilot "Whats going on?" he asked, "They dont seem to have liked you blowing up their facility and stealing this child" the woman said as the ship rocked again and he let go of Luna and got up and went towards the back door "Slow down" he says and then the pilot slows the ship down and The Rookie opens the back door up and jumps out, And uses his jetpack to land on one of the fighters and opens the cockpit up and throws the pilot out of the Fighter and jumps into it and begins to destroy the other fighters chasing them down

(First of all, you just like fried my brain with that run on sentence. xD)

The girl got off the man's lap, moving into the corner closest to the cockpit. She watched as the man jumped out of the plane ship and land on the other one, taking the pilot out immediately and getting into the cockpit of the other ship.

he flew next to the ship after the other ships were destroyed and jumped into the back of the ship, letting the fighter he was in fall to the ground below them. He got in and looked at the child "are you alright?" he asked getting to his knees holding his side

The girl nodded slowly and looked at the hand he was holding his side with, a red substance leaking from between his fingers slowly. Blinking at the blood, she pointed to it while hugging her knees to her chest with her other arm.

He looked at her "I'm...fine I have....dealt with worse" that was a slight lie, he had been hit with an aircraft bullet in his side, Anything he had dealt with worse with medic's near by, He got up and took out some sort of canister and put a nozzle in his wound and foam formed in his wound to close it off and he sat next to her and rubbed her head to try and comfort her "How are you holding up?" he asked not knowing she had no physically way of speaking

The girl watched the man take the canister out and apply it to his wound, watching it close up almost as soon as the foam touched it. Smiling, she shrugged and sat on the floor next to where he was sitting, resting her head against his leg.

he looked at the child curiously, She did not seem like to speak. He sat down next to her so she could rest on his inner shoulder As that area was softer than his leg armor. He kept an eye and her and leaned his head back as if annoyed "Pilot, ETA?" He asked shaking his head

"Two hours if we keep going at this speed sir" She says trying to do some electrical by pass so the engines could get back to full power

The girl re-adjusted her head so it was laying on his shoulder, a dog-tag coming out from underneath her dirty shirt. She fell asleep within minutes from the comfortable position, and the fact she hadn't slept in days. The tag glitned in the artificial lighting, making what was engraved upon it's surface just barely readable. "003 Luna Fairchild, Condition: Vocally Impaired"

he took it and cleaned it off reading it and rubbed her head "Thats too bad..." he sighs "Everyone should be able to talk..." he says and puts the tag back and sits back as the ship flies over the ocean, The Rookie got up carefully and looked out the back of the ship at the sea as the ship flew over it

a few hours passed, The rookie saw them pass over dry land and he got up and walked over to Luna and shook her gently "hay, ... umm Luna" he says remembering the dog tag name "its time to get up" he says shaking her softly

Luna slept peacefully the whole ride, only waking once when the man got up and moved towards the back. Blinking her eyes, she woke up for the second time and looked up at the man who had saved her, realizing he knew her name but she didn't know his. Still a bit sleepy, she pointed her finger at the man, wanting to know his name too.

he thought for a moment, then pieced it together "MY name?" he smiles "James... I know not very special or spectacular" he says smiling under his helmet and sits next to her "Ten more minutes... then we land..." and he takes her hand "And maybe you can live life as a normal girl?" he suggested "All you need to do is find someone to take care of you"

Luna smiled and let him take her hand, leaning against his shoulder again. At the mention of being a normal girl, Luna's hopes rose along with her tail, swinging back and forth happily.

the ship lands and the Rookie takes her hand and helps her out of the ship, he walked with her around, since it was a military installation he held her hand the whole time to make her feel more safe. he walks with her to a small room and there is an officer sitting there at the desk, she had blond hair in a pigtail and looks up at him "Ahh Rookie your mission was successful I assume?" she asks him, to which the Rookie nods. the Lady looks at Luna and then back at him "who is this...?" she asks tilting her head, The rookie speaks "A child I found at a research station, I am going to try and find her a caretaker"

Luna accepted James's hand and walked with him, struggling just the tinniest bit to keep up with his long legs. She looked at everything with bright eyes, never having had been in anything more then the facility she was raised in. Sometimes she could remember her mothers voice while laying on her cot.

Smiling at the lady with the pigtail, she waved at her happily. She was glad to be out of that horrid hell-hole where she had to do chores everyday and then doing P.T. Paying little attention now, she continued to look around the facility they were in now.

Dare smiled at the child, inwards she thought she was so cute! Seeing as she was in the first months of pregnancy she often hung around children more now to get a better understanding of them "Ok James you can go and find her a care taker" she smiles and rubs Luna's head, James smiles under his helmet and nods "thank you Vironica...OH and say hi to Buck for me" he says smiling and waves, taking Luna's hand. Vironica blushes and nods "I will"

he walks along the outside of the base and someone drives up next to them, it was a marine "Hay sir need a lift?" The marine asked, The rookie nods and takes Luna to the back of the Warthog and sits next to her, "So Luna are you excited to be getting a parent?" he asks smiling and rubs her head

Noticing that the adults conversation was coming to an end, Luna smiled at the nice lady once more before accepting James's hand again and following him closely. They had barely made it a couple feet from the doors of the building when a weird car looking thing came up beside them. Looking at the new object with interest, she let James pick her up and place her in the back with him.

Shrugging, Luna examined the warthog carefully. She watched as the tires kicked up dirt as they drove, rocks and dust spraying behind them with care less effort.

he smiles and gives a little laugh at her behaviour "Sure are curious aren't you?" he asks rubbing her head and laying back in the warthog, he then looks at her neck, it looked normal...but he knew from her tags that inside was a different story all together. he looks at her and hands her a small device "here you can draw if you would like?" he asks handing her a pure grey pen with no actual ink tip, "just move it across the screen to draw...push that button with the pen to change the colors, that one to change the pen draw size, and those two to zoom in and out" he says smiling and leans back

Luna accepted the small device and the pen, listening carefully to the instructions. As soon as she finished she stuck her tongue out between her lips and drew with extreme concentration, the pen in her hand making fine lines on the device. When she was done, she put the pen behind her ear and held the device up to James's face, the drawing on the device asking him what she could not. It had a drawing of a little girl and two older adults all holding hands and a smiley face underneath with a question mark. The question she was asking was simple enough "Will I be happy with my new family?"

he smiles and rubs her head "I promise I will find the perfect family for you... I will leave you with kind people who will care with you... with the love those...bastards back at the love neglected to show you" he says taking her hand "I give you my word on that" he says smiling as they drive into a new section of the base, by the looks a parking compound for more of the cars they were in, though some had turrets on the back rather than seats and there was some smaller ATV looking vehicles and some tanks
