Hello! I'm Vintagepath, or Vintage, or Ashley. Any are fine. I'm new here and to the format of this board, but I'm not new to forum Rp in general. Just very out of practice. đ
I was active across a couple boards in my late teens and early 20's. My first ever forum was thehungergamesrpg on proboards, I went as photobooth, or photo then. Then life (and mental health) got in the way and I got out of practice. Now I am a 32 year old stay at home mom of three boys (6, 4, and 3) and I have been feeling the itch to write again for the first time in years. I went to open Caution 2.0, where I used to find forums, and found it closed. A google search brought me here.
I'm not very good at talking about myself, so I'll start with the less personal things and try to ease into it. Back when I was on forums I tended to write mostly female characters on various eras of Harry Potter boards, some real life small town boards, and a few more fantasy lite inspired boards. I was actually just starting to branch out of that comfort zone when I had my first baby and disappeared from most of the internet outside mom spaces. I was a substitue teacher before I got married, but then we moved halfway across the country from the west coast to the midwest and I took time off from working to focus on parenting. When my youngest starts school I'll rejoin the work force, just 2 more years!
When I'm not parenting I spend most of my free time reading, last year I read over a hundred books and I already doubled that this year. It's admittedly not the healthiest rate, but a good number of those are manga and novellas, so it's also not as dramatic as it looks. I read mostly fantasy, romance, and fantasy romance, but also contemporary fiction, low stakes horror, non fiction. A bit of most things. I also have been known to knit and crochet, not well though.
I wrote and wrote and wrote when I was younger. I have journals full of stories and poems from 9-23, though don't ask to see them. I was sure I'd be an author at least part time as a kid. Life, and reality, and technology put a pause on that but I'm excited to ignite that spark again. Feel free to ask me any questions! I'm sure I left out most things. I'm not sure where to start here, or how it works, but I'm excited to figure it out.

Yes, online roleplay does change fast... just glad you found this place... I too was in the same boat... RL is a biotsch... and I too found the lifeboat called RPR, and it has given me muse again.

It is! Pumpkin. He's currently living with my mother in law due to some bank breaking health issues she offered to take care of for us, though. He's a sweetheart and I miss him.

Oh man, so part of reading so many is that your memory of most of them sort of leak out your ears afterwards and you're just left with ~the vibes~. I have a soft spot for the Protector of the Small quartet by Tamora Pierce, though. I read them first in high school, and they and the rest of her Tortal books get regular rereads. This year I really enjoyed, in order read not order of enjoyment, We Hunt the Flame by Hafsah Faizal, The Folk of the Air series by Holly Black, The Remnant Chronicles by Mary E Pearson, One Dark Window by Rachel Gillig and it's sequel, My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult, and Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant. The last book I read was Bride by Ali Hazelwood, so it's freshest in my mind.
