After eating his ice cream Ethan turned to her. "Thank you, its nice meeting a new person. Do you have a phone number on you?"
She finished her ice cream. "Yeah. It's been nice getting to meet you. Ah, yes." She picked up a napkin and scribbled down her number with a pen and handed it to him.
He took the number. "Thanks" he said. "I hope we can meet again" Ethan left to go home, he had a job that he had to do and he wants it to be over as soon as possible.
She nodded and smiled. "Yeah. See you." Then, she headed home. She was reluctant to go home, but she knew she needed to.
He arrived home and went to his shed. It was fairly big. Ethan looked under the main bench. There were many boxes brown boxes. He took them out and behind them were colored boxes. The boxes that he put on the desk above were labeled "Cocaine" and "Meth". He took some packets from each box. He put them in his pocket. He took a gun out and put it in his back pocket. He doesn't really know why he takes it every time, he never ends up using it. Ethan put on a hoodie and left the shed to the streets.
Marina walked back to her house and slipped up to her bedroom to avoid another yelling match with her mother. She took a seat in her room, and stared up at the ceiling, just thinking for a while. The sound of her mother moving around downstairs brought her back to the present and she just stayed quiet, hoping her mother would leave her alone.
Ethan stood out in the street waiting for his client to show up. He previously was called to wait here until someone showed up. Dealing in general is simple, after the phone call its just meeting up and exchanging the drugs for money.
Marina's mother left her alone for the time being. Marina moved to lay on her bed, hoping to nap for a bit. Sleep was her only escape from the worries of life.
He did with the person when he showed up. It was very simple. After that he went for a walk. It was getting dark and for some reason he wanted to be out.
Marina eventually grew tired of staying inside and walked out to the front porch of her house and sat down on the front steps, watching the cars that went by from time to time.
He continued walking only paying attention to the silence around him. After a while he noticed Marina sitting on the front steps.
Marina zoned out eventually, lost in thought. She looked up at the night sky, watching the stars and wondering what it would be like to go to space.
Ethan slowly approached her. "Hi" he said uncertainly.
She jolted a little and then looked at him. "Oh, Hey, Ethan." She smiled. "What are you doing out here?"
"Just going for a walk" he replied. He didn't know why he was out at night, he doesn't usually do that. "What are you doing out here?"
Marina shrugged a little. "Avoiding my mom." She made a face. "She can be a real pain sometimes, so I'm out here to avoid conflict."
He nodded. "What's the problem with her?"
She looked a little uncomfortable with the question. "We just don't get along."
Understanding that she didn't want to talk about her mum, he changed the subject. "So do you usually come out here at night?"
"Sometimes. Other times I just hole myself up in my room." She smiled a little.
