He nodded and just thought. "Do you have any siblings?" He said after a while.

"No. Just me and my mom... since my dad died a long time ago." She said awkwardly.

He nodded. "I used to living with my mum and dad but then my dad got arrested and I then just lived with my mum. Nowadays I just live on my own". Ethan doesn't know why he told her this, maybe because he felt that because she told him about her parents he should tell her about his.

She smiled slightly, listening to him talk about his family. "My mom... blames me for my dad's death." She turned her eyes down to the ground.

He nodded. "How long ago did it happen?"

"It was eight years ago now..." She said softly.

"So you try to stay out of your mum's way as much as possible?" he asked.

She nodded. "Yeah. It's easier that way. I don't have to try to argue with her... or rehash old feelings."

Ethan nodded. "She still is like this after 8 years?" He had never heard of someone holding a grudge against another person for that long.

"According to her, it's my fault he's dead... so... she'll probably never forgive me." Marina shrugged a little. "I'm used to it now."

He looked around him, it was darker than it was a few minutes ago. "Apart from me do you have any other friends?"

Marina shook her head. "No. Not really." She sighed a little. "I'm glad to have made one friend though... one is enough."

He nodded. "I know the feeling." he sat down next to her.

She smiled a little at him. "Yeah. It's not easy... but it's alright." She tried to ignore the sound of her heart pounding in her ears.

"Is your mother inside?" he asked her, Ethan wondered what would happen if she saw them together.

"Yeah. She is. She's probably in her room... or she's eating.... I dunno." She shrugged. She'd stopped being sad about it a long time ago.

He nodded. "What does she feel about you talking to other people?"

"I don't know. I doubt she cares either way." She shrugged a little. "She can't wait til I move out."

Ethan thought about something for a moment. "So you will be moving out?"

"Yeah... when I have enough money to live on my own..." She said softly.
