He smiled. He felt like asking if she would like to come inside but at the same time he worried that she would discover what was in the shed.
Marina smiled a little more. "Is this where you live? Or just a place you hang out?" She glanced at the shed. Wasn't that the kind of place that people use in the movies for things like drug making? Nah, Ethan didn't seem like that kind of guy... what if he was though? She didn't know how she'd feel about that. It was a complicated issue, really.
"I live here" he replied, "I bought this house because it's quite close to college"
"I see." She studied the place for a moment before focusing back on him and smiling. "It looks like a nice place."
"Well, its okay" he said looking behind him. "So your mother knows you are out?"
Marina shrugged. "Probably. She watched me walk out this morning... between her screaming matches with her phone."
"Is that an everyday Sunday for you?" He asked. So far an everyday Sunday was what he has experienced today. Apart from meeting Marina, that was different.
With a slight shrug, she smiled ever so slightly. "As close to everyday Sunday as it gets. But she yells on the phone a lot. So, it's normal now. I sort of prefer her when she's too drunk to think enough to talk to me or yell at anyone."
He nodded. "I see". Ethan hasn't seen his parents in a while. His father was in jail and Ethan wasn't interested in seeing his mother again.
Marina let out a small sigh. "Oh well. I'm used to it now. I can't wait to get out eventually, but until then, I'm stuck."
"I'm sure you'll find a way" he said. He made lots of money on his own so it wasn't long after he passed the age limit to leave home and live on his own. Marina doesn't seem to have a way of earning money.
"Eventually, I will." She said and smiled slightly. "Somehow." She could only hope that it would be sooner rather than later.
He started thinking about the possibility of having her as a partner. She would earn a lot of money pretty quickly. However that probably wouldn't work that well. First of all he didn't know if she had the experience to make drugs and secondly, he didn't knoe what her reaction would be if she found out his illegal job.
Marina shifted her weight a little. "Soo, I guess I'll leave you alone, if you want. Since, I probably interrupted you getting important things done." She smiled sheepishly.
"Not really" he said. All he really needed to do was to mwke some drugs and show up at an address. It was a bit of a party he was going to. It wasn't because he wanted to go, it's because he has to go. "I'm sure that could wait"
"Ah. Okay." She smiled a little. "So... we could just chat I guess." She wasn't entirely sure how to go about this. He was cute and she didn't really know how to talk to a cute guy without humiliating herself. It was more than likely she'd end up making herself look stupid when she talked to him.
He nodded. Ethan didn't know what to say next so he said "Would you like to sit down?" and offered the bench.
Marina nodded and smiled. "Sure. Okay." She walked over to the bench and sat down.
He sat down as well. "So what do you do in your spare time?"
"Read. Surf the Internet. Find someplace quiet to think. Nothing too exciting." She shrugged. "I guess I'd be more exciting if I had friends or something."
