Meph reluctantly removed his hands from Amelia and stepped back slowly. As her hands left his body, he caught one lightly in his large hand and gave her fingers a little squeeze. He met her eyes and smiled coyly, giving himself one more second with her. His fingers were then out of reach of hers and he turned to Gandrell, "Where do you want me to start." Undertow offered to help but Meph noticed the desire of the she-devil to take off. "I've got it. But thank you."
Gand tossed the keys to the van to him and indicated the large speakers. Meph tucked the keys into his leather diaper, there was nowhere else for them. He then leaned over and lifted a two hundred pound speaker like it was an empty box. He gave his Valkyrie a wink as he walked away from the kissing booth and towards the parking lot.
Meph was able to move quite quickly with the heavy equipment. He loaded the van strategically and was tossing the keys back to Gandrell after five trips. "You should be able to do the rest. I..." He looked over at Amelia who was still waiting for him. "I'll be home later. Okay?" He didn't wait for Gandrell's response. He gave Sadie, Undertow, Rayna, and Catherine a quick goodbye. He had barely spoken to any of them so he didn't feel compelled to do more than wave as he went to join Amelia.
On the same side of the plywood as her now, he offered her one of his too big hands. "Where to?" The carnival was closing, but surely she knew something they could do together.

With his help not needed, he took Sadie's offered hand and let her pull him along a bit. He laughed and wolf whistled at Aubree and her man as they stumbled by the booth. Playfully he said, "Have fun," before turning his attention to Sadie. They walked away from the booth together hand in hand as they chatted lightly about themselves.
"I'm currently a marine biology major. I have a real love of the sea." The conversation flowed easily, but the couple never arrived at Sadie s bar. They had been steered off course and ended up on his boat where she found out just how big his dingy was.

Catherine looked at Gandrell after asking what she could do before she too, left for the night. At his quip, she smiled. “All good things to those who wait.” She chimed back. She did set her mask down so she had use of both of her hands, and quickly started gathering all of the cups and any trash that may have been lying around.
Once she was done, she picked up the white envelope, and started to count the tickets they had gathered. They had a rather impressive amount, and a quick calculation told her around the amount of money they had made. She looked up when Aubree came in, and smiled at her when she waved at them after speaking with Rayna. “Have a great evening!”
When she was finished, she took the calculated envelope back over to Gandrell, but she would wait until he was free before she held it out to him. “All calculated.” She said with a smile. “We did well tonight.”
If there was nothing else for her to do, then Catherine would still wait for Gandrell, as they were meant to find the twins together. If there was, then she would happily do it while she waited.

Rayna found all of the little obscure items that had been scattered, and either threw them out, asked the others if it belonged to them, or dropped it in a small box to return to the start of the carnival. She cleaned the tables, and if they needed it, would help with the equipment tear-down. Sadie had never answered her question, and was soon walking off with the pirate. She shrugged lightly as she continued cleaning up, pulling off her jacket so she was just in the white corset for a little bit of air.
She was moving from behind the plywood as Aubree bounced back in, bright and very drunk. Rayna chuckled at her as she raved about Rayna’s friends. “They are. And They’ll treat you right.” But just to be safe, her dark eyes looked over at Danny, and the two of them had a silent conversation, of which Rayna was threatening to make him run thirty-seven hard laps if he acted a fool with her.
Looking at Aubree, she said; “Thank you for letting me know. I’ll be joining him as soon as I’m done here. I hope to see you at the breakfast tomorrow.” Rayna winked at her, then waved to her. “Have fun, kids!” She laughed before she turned back to continue cleaning up anything she could find until she was ready to head out, or there was just no more to do, which would start with a text message to Dean, letting him know she was finally almost done, and would be meeting him shortly. And, most importantly, that she expected a double-feature film when she got there.

Dean texted back:
We just got here, hot stuff. I've ordered a double feature and I'm warming up the backseat with your favorite blanket. I got an order from Rosie's coming for us, too. See you soon ❤️

Gandrell was grateful for everyone's assistance with cleaning up and tearing down. True, he would have gotten this done so much faster with no eyes on him but, it would still all get done. Gandrell felt a little bad about interrupting Meph and his new friend. As Meph walked away he slid over to the Valkyrie. "Your costume is magnanimous." Gand was never shy with the compliments. "His name is Meph. He's a firefighter and EMT. He's very brave, stoic, and he's never been in love before." Gandrell gave her wink and scampered off to collect the box of alcohol Rayna had gotten together for him.
He glanced over her shoulder as he came to take the box from her, "Oooooo, a blanket warming up the backseat." Gandrell giggled playfully. "You got that boy trained, Missy." He flashed her a smile and headed out of the booth. As he passed by Catherine he said, "Be right back. Then we can find our lovers together."
Gandrell passed Meph and Meph tossed him the keys. Gand watched his friend head directly to the Valkyrie and head off away from the booth. "Take care of my son," Gand whispered to himself. He then turned and went to drop off the box of booze in the van.

Amelia was not a volunteer, and therefore was not asked to help, so she waited off to the side, with an absolutely amazing viewing of Meph’s rippling muscles picking up and carrying large and heavy equipment. She bit the inside of her cheek to keep the noise of the images her brain created inside, and reminded herself to pull back a little, even if all she could feel was his kiss, and that small touch on her hand.
She’d had a crush on him since the first time she saw him, and she was determined to actually get to know him. Yes, hopefully date him too, but at least know him, and have him know her. As she was standing there waiting, Gandrell came over to her. At his compliment, she glanced down at herself. “I think so too, but thank you for noticing.” She smiled back at him, but focused her eyes on him when he began to speak.
She realized he was giving her information on the warrior, and she nodded as she filed it away. The most interesting part was the last thing he said. He’d never been in love before. Amelia’s eyes looked up at the tall Phantom, and slowly nodded. “Understood, mysterious Phantom.” Although Amelia was not sure why he had offered this information, she was grateful to have it.
When Meph was finished, and walking back to her, Amelia’s smile was huge as she saw his hand reaching out for hers. She took it immediately, her fingers sliding into his. “You know, I read somewhere that there might be a shooting star somewhere. We could go find a cozy, private place to wish upon it.” What it really offered was outdoors, private and alone.
As they walked away from the booth, she looked up at him, and kind of blurted out; “Amelia. My name is Amelia. And I’m very pleased to finally meet you.” She told him as they stepped back into the carnival.

Meph looked down at the Valkyrie as she mentioned shooting stars. He smiled lightly and nodded. "It feels like a night for wishing on stars." They began walking away from the lights of the kissing booth. His attention was completely on her as she told him her name. "Amelia. I like that." As they turned the corner and vanished from the sight of the few volunteers that were still there, Meph and Amelia departed the story of the kissing booth and entered into a brand new story of their own.
As Dean’s text came in, Rayna laughed. As she read the word Rosie’s, her stomach automatically gave a growl, and she realized that she was two different kinds of starving.
Texting him back, she wrote; “You are amazing, sexy. I am starving. For food and you, and I cannot wait for you to take this corset off. See you soon, sugar. 😘”
As she sent it, she heard Gandrell’s words, and tilted the phone so he could see all their previous text messages were the same, but on both sides. They equally serviced each other. “You’re damn straight I do. He knows what I like.” It was likely the reason everyone thought they were dating when they really weren’t. Dean was her very best friend, her protector as she protected him, and he understood her in a way that other people just didn’t.
“And he got me food too. What a guy.” Chuckling to herself, she continued and finished cleaning up the rest of the area, and once she assured that Gandrell did not need anymore help except turning off the lights in the area, she waved to both of them. “Happy Halloween, you two. Have the best night, and I will see you guys later!” And with that, Rayna grabbed her ringmaster coat, and ran off to go find her best friend.

Gandrell placed the box with the bottles of booze and another full of extension cords into his van. He then removed his mask and added it to one of the boxes. He locked the doors and set the alarm. As he walked back to meet Catherine he let his mind wander over the event. It really had been a lot of fun. He was sceptical when he was first asked to volunteer, but now he was very glad he had agreed. He might have gotten a girlfriend out of this thing. He shook his head and chuckled softly, a girlfriend. He hadn't had a girlfriend in decades. He would need to polish up his courting skills.
He arrived back at the kissing booth just in time to say a quick goodbye to Rayna. "Enjoy the creature feature, the food, and the fun." He then looked at Catherine, "Let me turn off the lights and we can head out." As he entered the booth and headed towards the back to unplug the lights he asked Catherine, "Have you texted your twin to see where they are?"
He leaned down and pulled the plug, shutting the lights off. He cautiously made his way out of the booth and went to stand next to Catherine. "Ready, princess?" He offered her his arm so he could escort her to meet their dates for the night. "So, princess, think you're going to make your devil break out in prayer tonight?" It was his way of asking if she thought she was going to have sex tonight. He wasn't sure if he and Ella would get that far tonight. As long as he got more kisses he would be content.

Catherine did all the last minute little things that she could see or think of as she waited for Gand. She then just waited while he took the boxes out to the car. She was glad to take her own mask off, for she nearly forgot how much tension it could put on an arm to hold it that long.
She stretched out her arm, letting the blood flow back before taking out her beyond bedazzled phone. The case was a bright pastel green, with a diamond-encrusted rhinestones creating a ‘C’ on the back of the phone. Hanging off it was two different charms, one star, one diamond that looked very real, and it was buzzing nearly out of her hands. She ignored them as she opened her messages, and typed in Darian’s number. She was just sending the message as Gandrell turned up again. “I am, dear Phantom.”
As they turned to walk out, Gandrell asked her another question, and it made the honey eyes turn towards him. “I did, but they haven’t replied just yet.” At his second question, her smile turned sultry, “Well, he is a tough one to crack, but. I think I’m up for the challenge.” She added a playful wink before saying; “And you? Are you gonna attend a little confessional tonight?” She was only teasing, of course, but still it was a natural curiosity after watching the two of them together.
The banter was friendly as the two relaxed now that their work was done, and the conversation would continue as they went to search out their new adventures.
