The ghosts probably know more about Halloween than Primrose does, but she knows enough to try and celebrate.
As someone who loves to make new friends, the moment she heard that candy was the way to get people to visit she just had to get some.
At the end of a path coming out of the woods is a hill, and perched on that hill is a plain wooden cabin. Her home.
When nobody's visiting, it's awfully lonely. But that's okay! She understands that the other princesses may be busy with their own things right now.
She couldn't think of a costume, unfortunately. But plenty of people dress up as princesses during Halloween, right? From what she's heard...
Sitting on her porch in her fluffy pink dress, The Damsel cradles a fancy glass bowl full of candy in her lap. Caramel apple lollipops, dark chocolate, even some cute peanut butter cups shaped like pumpkins and ghosts!
Primrose thinks people like those. She made good choices.
Humming a song to herself that she can't quite recall the words to, she waits for visitors to come walking out of the woods.

Lizzie pushed a branch away from her path, holding her trusty friend right by her chest.
"Know where we are, bud?"
Creature, who had turn into a knife of some sort, wiggled in her hands. Lizzie took that as a "no."
Sighing, she pushed on, following a path that led to who knew where.
The young girl was not afraid of the woods. Far from it, in fact- she had many great memories of running around in them, playing hide and seek with her family and climbing the trees with Jr.. These woods, however, had an ominous air to them, and she had the feeling that the quicker she left the better.
Eventually, after enough walking, she spotted a figure in the dark. A house, or maybe a cabin, sitting atop a hill. Squinting her eyes, she could see something else there- maybe someone?
"Hey!" She shouted, running up the hill, "Anyone there? We kinda got lost..."

Primrose perked up, watching as a stranger approached from the woods. In a flurry of excitement, she stood up and walked out the rest of the way towards the new person.
She smiled as warmly as ever, but her expression quickly turned to one of fear at the sight of a blade.
Primrose held her bowl of candy out, as though it might protect her. Or maybe she was just hoping that when the stranger took the candy she would leave instead of attacking. It was hard to say.
"You aren't going to hurt me, are you?" She asked, blue eyes wide and trembling as though she might start crying. "I can try to help if you're lost, just...please don't stab me..."
She didn't know that the blade wasn't actually a blade, or what the stranger's intentions were aside from probably leaving.
As frightened as she was, she wasn't sure yet if she actually wanted the other girl to leave.
"Who are you? I'm called The Damsel, but I like Primrose better."

Sure enough, a nice cabin was on top of the hill, along with it's owner! Lizzie let out a sigh of relief- she and Creature weren't alone anymore.
She couldn't relax for long, however, as she realized that Creature was currently a knife.
"Ah-" She exclaimed, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, I don't mean- uh, here, let me just..."
Creature read her mind, and quickly turned itself into an ornate crown. Lizzie nodded, put him on the top of her head, and curtsied.
"My apologies! I didn't know what was out here, and I've been jumped in the past. I'm not going to hurt you at all!"
She held out a hand, and used the other to rub her shoulder.
"I understand if you want me to leave. I was just trying to be safe."

Primrose watched with curiosity as the blade turned into a crown, and while she had no idea what it was...she felt it was something like her.
She'd changed too, once.
With the absence of a weapon, the young woman's smile returned. She still held out her bowl, with both hands due to the heavy material, but it was more a proper offering than a shield. She'd gotten it to share with others, after all! Was that not what Halloween was?
"No, no, I'm sorry! You don't know me, it's perfectly understandable to have a weapon on you." She replied, slowly becoming excited again.
"You can stay here as long as you like, and have a treat if you want." She gently shook the bowl, the wrapped candy crinkling with the movement. "I had to go to a store! I don't think I completely know what a store is, or money, but after Destiny explained it to me I was excited!"
She heard money could sometimes be found in couch cushions. After searching through the ones in the furniture Destiny made for her, she'd accidentally caused some change to materialize. But it was a happy accident, just enough for her to go to a store and buy candy!
"But the important thing is, you're safe with me. Now, if you had accidentally gone to Talyn's cabin, that would probably be a different story."
She shuttered.
"Anyways, I don't think I caught your name?"

Just to the right of the other two, there is a sudden eruption of yellowish, musty-smelling smoke. As the mushroom cloud clears, it leaves behind an enormous snail, the top of its shell toweing to an impressive three feet taill. It turns its head - and its stalk eyes - this way and that, blinking wetly at where it found itself now.
"Hello?" it calls, a bit too loud.
"Hello?" it calls, a bit too loud.
Primrose squeaked in alarm at the sudden appearance of a rather large snail, but she snapped back to being cheerful rather quickly.
"Oh, hello there! My goodness, I've never had so many visitors before!" She beamed. "Well, visitors that aren't the other princesses. We visit each other all the time. Who are you? It's nice to meet you!"

Lizzie relaxed as the princess- Primrose- reassured her.
"Ah, good! I'm glad you understand.... I'm Lizzie, by the wa-"
Her greeting was interrupted by a strange, yellow fog. She snapped her head to the new stranger, which was... a surprisingly large snail.
"Huh... well, this was a surprise, but sure! I'm Lizzie, and this is Primrose. And this is Creature!"
She pointed to her crown, which had changed- instead of an ornate, princessly crown, it felt much sharper and dangerous. She felt her finger prick on an edge, and observing the offending digit revealed that it was bleeding a bit.
Last thing she wanted was for Creature to scare someone else again.
Lizzie chuckled, holding the little guy in her hands. "Calm down, I don't think the snail's gonna hurt us."
She leaned in close, a small smirk on her face. "Even if they did," she said, "we could just speed walk away."
With that, she went towards the candy bowl, and started to dig around.
"What kinda treats ya got? Anything you guys like in particular?"

"Oh, I picked a few kinds I thought people would like! I've never had them before, so you'll have to tell me if they're good or not."
Primrose held up one of the lollipops. It seemed like a standard green apple lollipop, were it not for the caramel that appeared to have been melted into it before it was wrapped.
"I'm especially excited about these ones! Tabby says they're sweet and then sour when the caramel is gone. She's so smart!"
Tabitha was one of the nicer ones, surprisingly. She only seemed to 'have beef,' as Mary phrased it, with the one who abandoned them.
"But there's this stuff called chocolate, too. I heard that was popular!"

"You've... never heard of candy before? Huh..."
How interesting, this Prim was. She seemed like the kind of princess that a mom would read about in a children's book. Lizzie was starting to like her.
"Have you tried any?" Lizzie asked, grabbing a green lollipop, "I've always been partial to the fruit flavored ones."
She unwrapped the treat, then placed the wrapper in her pocket. As she did so, she popped the sucker in her mouth, then gently laid Creature down onto the pile.
"Your turn, bud. Choose a good one."
The crown changed form yet again, this time to a writhing patch of thorns. It curled around a peanut butter cup, shaped like a cartoon ghost.
Lizzie smiled, and held Creature in her hands once again. "Nice one."

"Not yet! I was going to some time after the night ends, if there was any left." Prim replied. "I wanted to make sure any visitors got as much as they wanted."
Not many visitors have come so far, unfortunately. But at least one or two did. It made her happy.
"There's a lot I don't know, or remember. But I'm learning! I have a few friends who know better, though. Ones more adventurous than I am."

Asked for its name, the snail blinks at the two princesses and then says, "I'm a snail."
It doesn't say this with any apparent sarcasm or scoffing. It seems to think that this is a perfectly good, polite and logical answer to the question it was asked. There does not seem to be any guile or deception in the creature. Perhaps it doesn't have a name, or doesn't quite know what names are.
It does know about various forms of food, however. It stretches its neck out and inches toward the porch, nosing toward the candy bowl.

Primrose understands this line of thinking. For a while, she didn't have a proper name either. Only a title, The Damsel.
For easier access, she drops to her knees and offers the bowl out to the snail to aid in its searching.
"When you find something you like, tell me and I'll unwrap it for you!" She tells the creature. "I don't imagine the packaging is tasty..."

Shoving its face into the bowl, the little lumpy tentacles below its eyestalks carefully feel over the treats available. This leaves most of the bowl a bit slimey. It doesn't get better when the snail takes a whole scoop of candy in its mouth, then dribbles it back out at Primorose's feet, looking at her plaintively.
The princess seems to take it in stride, her smile barely wavering as she helps the snail enjoy its treats. Though she doesn't enjoy the texture of the snail's slobber, the prospect of making someone happy overwrites any discomfort she might have felt.
When she's through unwrapping everything, she simply wipes her hands on her dress and straightens up.
"There. I hope you enjoy them."

It was getting late in the evening and Yaaz and the children were getting sleepy, they weren't running around like crazy anymore and mostly sticking by their parent. Stepping onto the path they noticed this wasn't a forest they knew. Continuing up the path they saw a hut on top of a hill.
There was a lady dressed as a princess on the front step, with a child and as he got closer, a snail on the floor. He smiled politely and held the children back to wait their turn.

After attending to the others, Primrose observed more visitors coming up the path. She was delighted, of course. This was more visitors than she'd had in a while!
Of course, some of her bowl was rather icky from the snail slime, but as all of her candy was in wrappers she deduced that it would likely be safe to eat.
Excusing herself, she walked down the stairs to the cabin and approached the newcomers. She'd never seen an actual child before, and was barely holding in her excitement at getting to meet them. That said, she was happy to have visitors period. She certainly hadn't expected to be so popular!
"Hello, welcome to my home! It's very nice to meet you." She replied, holding out her bowl. "The ones on top are a little messy, but you can take as much as you like!"
What she'd do when she ran out of candy, she didn't know. Maybe invite them in for tea? It'd be a chance to use her new furniture! Of course, she didn't know if anybody was allergic to cats. Could anybody be allergic to Dinah, Regina, and Tabitha? She actually didn't know.
Better safe than sorry, though.

Left alone, the snail gurgles happily as it munch-crunches the now unwrapped candies, sweet drool occasionally sliding from the side of its mouth.
Unused to eating such sticky treats, it chokes slightly, and ends up in a coughing fit. It turns ugly quickly, making heaving, hacking noises like a cat about to vomit, before finally spitting a goop-covered white rabbit out. The rabbit looks around, confused, then hops away rapidly. The snail's eye stalks watch it go, perrhaps equally confused about what just happened.
It sniffs a bit, then sneezes, and just as quickly as it arrived it is abruptly gone again, leaving behind another mushroom cloud of musty smelling green-grey smoke.

The three pups walking wagged their tails as the princess approached. They weren’t as energetic as usual but was getting past their bedtime. The smallest one being carried was fast asleep, face smushed into their parents armpit in what looked like a highly uncomfortable position but they remained asleep.
“One each.” He’d instruct the trio who looked up, huffed and slowly approached.
The snail slim on the bowl proved far too interesting to ignore and was sniffed with great interest. After a few solid minutes they’d each take a candy ever so gently. Tails wagging, looking up at the princess with their best attempts at smiling.

The whole family had reminded Prim of her friends, actually. Specifically a pair of beasts composed of a few different creatures, though Dinah and Regina were both more feline than canine in appearance.
She'd gotten lucky that both of them were fond of being pet, by her at least, but Jade had warned her that not every animal-like person liked such a thing. Especially not without asking first.
So while she absolutely wanted to pet the puppy creatures, she refrained from doing so.
"Thank you for coming all this way to visit." She told the parent, standing once the children had each selected a treat. "I understand my cabin isn't the swiftest trip."
Seeing the sleeping fourth child, Prim took a final candy out and handed it to Yaaz.
"For when they wake up." She explained.
