Ten raised a brow, and raised it high, so the being had methods for peering through the veil into the Mirror Lands? That was certainly unusual. That was not how the Gauntlet was supposed to function to his knowledge. It was easier to see on this side, the spirits willed that to be, as they wished to watch over physical life. But it was harder to see from the other due to the ancient rites of the garou. That and the deep disbelieving superstition of humans.
Though their were Theurge whose eyes could be blessed to see through, but this man did not seem to be one of the ilk.
He just pinched his nose, "Oh wondrous, you made a reference to chess. How quaint." He began to move, needing to move quickly as he began to slap paper talisman to trees around the area. As he placed them, they clung naturally to the shadowy, ephemeral wood at jaunty angles. It paid to have a back up plan.
He needed a way to bridge the Gauntlet, as his entry puddle had faded when the White werewolf girl hadn't used it. He could do it the werewolf method and speak the incantations while clawing a hole. But that weakened the Gauntlet. If he could use a source of element in lieu of that, it would be less brutal, but he needed to save his Element Children Talisman for any violence that might erupt. If only he could summon a Gaffling...Wait...He narrowed his eyes looked for just that.

Even through the creatures threats, she smiled. Her emerald eyes focused on him like a snake. Even though she was in her human form, Rae did have the same hearing skills and smelling skills. There was not a very clear scent of the Fox, but of the creature there was. It filled her nose and sent a vile taste in her mouth. Now the book.... If the book had used her to save his life, she would do the same. " Give me the book. " She demanded once more, but added to the sentence. " Or we could do my way. Who said I didn't want to kill the book? He might be me brother, but I have my reasons for revenge. " A grin appeared on her face and she moved a strand of her hair from her face.
Rae had never really been able to detect the fox and his whereabouts. Even a werewolf, she didn't understand his ways. Her emerald eyes flickered towards where she thought the fox was. At the moment she needed to know if she wanted her alive or dead.

There went Bathe's plan to make Rae look innocent, and now it seemed she wanted him dead. "On second thought, give me to your invisible fox friend." Bathe joked, he didn't know who that guy was but if he was real he'd probably be safer then either of these two. Rae was beautiful but he only had known her for a few weeks now, and at this moment she seemed a bit crazy. Maybe that was because this was his first time seeing how she fought, or maybe she was someone who truly needed to be hunted. As for the hunter, no one deserved his cruelty. Sticks cracked, more hunters! "Run Rae, there're more...!" Bathe stopped, stupid, stupid, stupid, he had just messed up big time "I mean Belle!"
(Scratch that, ignore this post )
rolled 2d6 and got 8
Nogitsune unique travel. Will he find ten?
Castiel cocked a brow "Rae you say? well that's not what you called her before" He said looking at the book "You wouldn't be lying to an old man like me would you?" he asked Bathe Scratching Bathe's right cheek with is claw.
"So you want your brother dead?" an evil smile on his face as he asked "Well dear... You're no different than I... You're as twisted as me" he chuckled a little, Again, pacing "Let me get this right, Your actually Rae The wolf? and you want to destroy the book?" slightly confused the thought made him chuckle "Do you know how fun it is to deny someone revenge?" He held the book in front of him with his left hand. His right hand thumb and index finger claws slipped into into one of Bathe's pages.
"Yo say you want him? Pry him out of my cold dead hands" he said slowly but eventually ripping a page completely out.

"Yo say you want him? Pry him out of my cold dead hands" he said slowly but eventually ripping a page completely out.
As the page ripped out Bathe screamed, it was like tearing out his soul one page at a time. The pages could not be read once removed though, as the page left the book it withered into black ash that blew away in the wind that rippled threw the dark trees. "Please!" Bathe wasn't very willful, "Stop! I'll tell you anything!" He hoped he wouldn't have to, he hoped Rae would save him, and he hoped the three, four spells torn out weren't too important.
The sound of Bathe getting hurt made her guts twist and turn. In an instint, forgetting the anger she had for him she growled. She jumped into the air and transformed into the huge white wolf she was. This would probably give away any cover ups she had. The magnificent white animal had arrived and was ready to kill. Her emerald eyes looked at him, growling. In a leap she jumped, getting ready to jump on him.
Ten reached into his pocket, and drew out his cell phone. It was a simple affair, modern with a fold out-qwerty keyboard. But when it was exposed to the fog of the Mirror Lands, it's enchantments became apparent as the keypad's numbers shifted into wild glyph that looked like they had been drawn with claw points. He began to hit the keys, and put the phone to his ear. "Oy, Morning Stormy, listen I need a favor. I require to borrow your little Gaffling friend. Yes, the Squirrel spirit. I need him to fetch something of mine, and bring it onto the human side of the Gauntlet. Yes, I need him to fetch THAT. And I need him to do it quick, I got thirty seconds. Tell him I'll pay him the tithe, of course. Yeah, I thought a bit of my magic would be enticing to him." Ten cradled the phone in the crook of his neck, as he drew a slender ritual knife from his jacket pocket. He drew the sharp edge over his fingertips. He dripped the blood to the shadowy forest floor. "Yes, good. He's on his way. Right, I will speak to you soon Stormtail."
Ten sat before the small dribbling of blood, as suddenly a glowing brown squirrel appeared before him. "Ahh, Hides-His-Nuts, good. Our Corax friend explain what we need?"
The squeaking, high-pitched voice echoed from the squirrel, "Yes, Tenoji, I have it here. You require a way beyond the veil? A assume we are using the moonlight for this, as it is the blood moon. Very powerful. You will be able to fight well, with great amounts of Rage. We seal the contact, and I will get to work."
Ten rubbed his bleeding fingers, as the wounds clotted, and the blood between his fingers transfigured itself into a single silver coin. Ten flipped the Token of pure gnosis to the squirrel spirit, and nodded. "Make it so, good gaffling." Ahhh, Spirits, so very handy when offered a proper bribe for their services.
The squirrel disappeared. And in the physical world, the wind picked up to a low whistle, rustling the trees. There was a small chitter, as suddenly a asian blade dropped from the canopy of the trees. The silver bladed implement landed heavily in the ground, it's scabbard defying the laws of physics as it stuck straight in the earth, erect and waiting. From the same gap in the ceiling of leaves, suddenly fell a small brown squirrel. As the squirrel landed, it ceased to be a squirrel, instead standing in the form of a man in a brown top hat and long tailed black tuxedo. "Oh, Pardon me..." The man spoke in a very high pitched voice, as he reached around, and took the sword. "Not to interrupt your skirmish. But if the wyrm-tainted one would cease to tear into the unnatural book, I will conclude my business and be on my way."
Ten walked his way to where the figment of his sword lay, standing on the other side of the veil behind Hides-his-nuts. Just then, the Squirrel Gaffling drew the blade, and threw it skywards in a end-over end toss. The red moonlight caught the blade, sending a reflection of it's light out over the forest. Upon the blade's polished surface, Ten could be seen in the Mirror Lands, as he lunged for the moonlight to tear a gap wide enough to Step-sideways.

((Because this character is literally incapable, in all 12 years of playing him, of not making the most dramatic entry possible to any and all fight scenes.))
Cas anticipated her reaction, she seemed like the over-reacting type with a heroic attitude. "Shadow Step" his whisper echoed into the forest. Before she was able to pounce on him Castiel was no longer where he stood and neither was Bathe. The leaves raised off the ground and floated gently back "Good doggy!" An evil smile plastered on his face "Now We can have fun... Shame, i didn't bring any doggy treats"
A portal appeared next to Cas, he reached into it and pulled out a black bladed CLaymore which looked heavy enough to be held by 4 people and still have problems.
Cas was caught off guard by the man that appeared and even more when Tenoji "Ah and you, my brother, have finally shown your face. how long were you planning on waiting before showing up?" He Tapped his foot as he cocked a brow at Tenoji "Never the less, we were about to throw down right?" He picked the claymore off the ground with ease an threw it onto his shoulder "The book's tears are getting ink stains into my clothes" He brushed off his shirt with Bathe's spine. He had no choice but to hold the book throughout the fight.

"What the hell?" Bathe said, shocked and annoyed with the events accruing, he was being gripped harder by Castiel, "Please, Someone just open me!" It wasn't about revenge, not about honor he was gonna turn into a bird and fly away, he just wanted out of this battle. He wasn't the battling sort. "Or at least put me down! I cant cast any spells without a mortal conduit anyway!" Man Foxes, Squirrel People, Werewolves, And Hunter Mages, This had to be a nightmare!
When Castiel disseapered Rae growled. She fell to the ground and looked behind her. Castiel seemed to be going from her vision. At the mention of dogs Rae growled. " To your information, I'm not stupid. I'm a bit important. " Her emerald eyes looked around and finally found Castiel. If Castiel knew his history, he would know that Rae was the secret to the curse. Now that the Fox was back she looke at him. " Are you going to help me? " She said somewhat low. Her white coat reflected some of the light. She began to remember about Bathe and flicked her tail in annoyance. This night was starting to piss her off.
Tenoji gave a large grin, his lips curling back over pearl white teeth. In his purely human form, his raven black hair tussled softly in time with the loose tail of his coat whipping. His golden eyes rimmed with power, his gnosis boiling away merrily in his blood, making small sparks of bright white flame leap from the corners of his eyes.
His body flushed hot with the adrenaline of a coming brawl, his flight or fight instincts ringing in his ears with resounding determination. And his Rage responded to that prominently.
Fight, they said, Protect, Exterminate. Bring your reckoning down, Fox. Slay the one with mind so tainted by Wyrm filth, the great mothers require it. In their names, Gaia, Luna, and Bai Minaxi, make him cease to be and make one more piece of the world right again.
Ten's eyes flicked up to the spinning blade as it came down and stabbed into the earth by his foot. He took it up, and held it in a reverse hand grip. He chuckled heatedly, looking to the White wolf, "Yes, Rae. I will help, if you forgive the meddling of this cousin." He gave a small bow of his head, before looking to Castiel and his choice of weapon. Behind him, Hides-his-Nuts shifted back to the spirit world, the Gaffling having used up his energies to maintain a physical manifestation.
The claymore was silly in it's proportion, uselessly heavy and would limit a swordsman's swing, very impractical for a forest combat with trees to get in the way of long crescent swings and plunging lunges. Ten could use that to his advantage to close the gap in their reach. For if nothing else, the kitsune had grace and agility on his side. Of course, to choose it, he must've had some form of ability to use it, for no man enters the battlefield a fool. He would need to ascertain that before he moved for a killing blow.
"I am no brother of yours, I would have you understand. I apologize for my tardiness, but were I full strength, passing back and forth behind the veil would be a parlour trick. But sadly, this is not the stage I find myself. It's to your benefit, for was I not within this state, you would've already been bleeding unto the earth." Ten raised the blade into a first position defensive stance, known as the Iron Curtain. His choice of weapon was his relic blade, a mid-length sword single bladed sword made with old traditional methods married to modern materials and ritual empowerment. The mirror shine of the polished blade was inlaid with the visages of many animals charging in unison towards the life-taking sword point. His smile slipped just a small inch, as he spoke to Castiel "Any chance you will recant, release your captive, and flee?"

"No brother of mine you say?, but that is not the kitsune way" Castile evaluated his opponents "doesn't it seem unfair that there's two against one? Brother you alone should sufice for my blood thirst" he chuckled at the petty threats they were throwing at him.
His blade was perfect for the scene, maximum damage to everything that gets in the way of his swings "i can't believe you don't know what i am, brother" tutting at Tenoji, he expected Rae not to know but Tenoji should be able to sense what he is.
"Well then, you want the book? I want Rae. Here's the deal, be cautious though, make a deal with the devil and you end up getting burned" a devilish smile as he held the book out towards them. BAthe was surrounded by a black fog "this book has been cursed, I want you to bring it to the twilight temple, not the luner temple with Rae otherwise this book and everything inside it will her lost into the void"

Rae watched the two talk back and forth. They both seemed to use some kind of magic. The swords they had were defiantly ones of high powers. She turned into her human and sighed at the men. Pulling her hair back, Rae heard Castiel talk about her. " well, Castiel. I really don't feel like getting my heart ripped out of my chest and devoured when I'm alive. " She dusted off the dirt on her shirt and put her hands on her hips. " Not everyone likes to be as weird as you. " Now her attention turned towards Bathe and she let out a low, humanish growl.
"Thank you Rae," Bathe panted, almost happy to see the strange fox thing, "Just let me go and I'll float away, all calm like." If he flew fast enough he would be able to flip into Rae's hands and cast a spell, or worst case scenario Ten would probably lend his hand to Bathe and a real fight could begin. "No need to hurt anyone." Bathe didn't want to see Rae get her heart ripped out but if the Twilight temple was what he thought it was all the world would become fangs and claws, werewolves tearing apart each other till the end of time. Not all wolf people were as self collected as Rae.
"Oh, I can sense the truth of you. You are not a member of Clan, nor Kin." Ten's smile became a sneer, as he watched over the proceedings. "Your body resonates of wolf, but darker things still gnaw at the fractures of your soul. It smells of corruption and taint. And no self-respecting Fox would allow himself to be tainted as such." He repeated his initial statement, "No Brother of mine."
Now that the book was free, Ten simply moved his defensive posture between Rae, the Book, and Castiel. He kept his guard up, and his eyes trained dead center mass of his opposition. His free hand tingled lightly, as his magic was made ready, Yojutsu spells burning in his blood to be let loose. He furrowed his brow, and let his face relax back into that mocking, sardonic grin. He was beginning to get a sense of things between these two. And honestly, more he heard, less he liked the whole situation.
But one thing lingered on his mind, the nature of what Castiel claimed as his Curse.
Suddenly, he burst into laughter. It was just such a cliche, and so badly worded. He knew it would be impossible to make stick, as the term "Void" applied to far too many realms of existence, and even some psychological and physical handicaps, several of which he could think of easy ways to retrieve it from just by getting in contact with the right supernatural beings. And he merely defined two potential outcomes, both of which she could easily just take the book to neither, there was no geas upon Rae to force her hand, as Ten's knowledge of the situation went.

Bathe flipped over himself finally free! He dropped a bit so Rae could open him which would give him the power to cast a spell, "Open me Rae!" Bathe yelled, "I got a good one to show this damn lunatic!" He awaited the soft elegant touch of her small white hands, she was a good conduit. Powerful yet beautiful, he hoped she wouldn't be too mad at him for trying to save his own skin before. "Go on open me! Hurry!" Bathe wondered why the five or six hunters were just standing around behind Castiel... Did they seriously believe he could take all three of us on, or was Castiel the kind of man who killed all in a battle not just the enemy? Either way the other hunters would be a threat at one time or another, this he knew for sure.
Castiel looked at Ten with suspicious look, then again, power makes many mad and some, vegetables "Brother, why do you have to hurt my feelings like that?" Castiel asked placing a hand over his heart "My poor feelings... anyway, It is my nature to feed of chaos and strife quite literally. No chaos or strife equals a hungry Castiel"
Cas slammed his claymore into the ground and leaned against it "Brother, i am self-respecting... in a small way. For i am a nogitsune and it is within my nature to see you all suffer" he chuckled a little "Not all of us chose to follow the Inari like yourself Brother" He turned his attention to the Book "Little book, i wouldn't go too far if i were you, your life is hanging by a thread. That curse that i've placed on you means have until sunrise to reach the Twilight temple with Rae" he stood up and dusted his jacket then pulled out his claymore from the ground.
Throwing it over his shoulder he cleared his throat "Meet my pawns" he said to them with a creepy smile. Hunters emerged from the darkness behind him "Even though we have a date planned for late, we can have a warm up dance right now" before they could reply castile flashed in front of Tenoji in an instance swinging his claymore with ease and speed.
The hunters bolted in Rae and Bathe's direction, all of them wielding blades.
