Tenoji Tails (played by CactusBat)

Tenoji locked onto the temple in the distance. He didn't feel the same call the Rae did to move towards it. Honestly, right now he didn't feel anything. He soaked in what they put forth, literally, he was leeching from all of them. Ambitions, desires...Rae's sense of destiny, Bathe's self-preservation, Castiel's malevolence. All of it was trickling through his vitality, giving him a drips of magic into his soul. Such intersections of want and fortune where what made him seek out such uninhibited conflicts.

But he himself was blank. He was well acquainted with this somber feeling, it was his calm before the storm. A moment of peace and calm before magic burned his blood and adranaline raced through his mind. He muttered to himself softly, "Der Schnittpunkt von zwei Wunschen..."

He then gathered himself up, standing on his hind legs as his body lengthened and grew suddenly. Jujin, the War Form, the form of the dreamer's eye, called Koto by his people..these things reinforced the image in his mind, and the form that came forth from that den of shapes deep within his soul, forcing his body to shift to match it. The air about Ten's body steamed and misted as his transformed, his clothing being summoned from the Mirror Lands to clothe him in this man-like form. It was a blend of the fox and the man, much like a werewolf was a wolf of human gait, so too was this a fox with the countenance of a man. Transforming took merely seconds, and then Ten stood. His tail lashed the ground behind him in an annoyed fashion, as his hackle raised. "You know, she's right..." from his sleeve appeared a golden coin, it looked exactly like a quarter you'd find on any street corner, if it weren't made from gold. He rolled the coin onto his thumb and began to flip the coin in the air, catching it and flipping it again. "Killing me isn't an option for her. You might as well ask her to condense a noble gas from the air with her bare hands. Even if she suddenly could...Even if I were to do this..." Suddenly, Ten moved to Rae, drawing his sword and flipping it over in his hand. From where she lay. he thrust the handle of the blade into her hand. The point he placed over his chest. "It would go badly for you, Castiel." Ten's voice never wavered, whatever he was up to, he was confident about it. He looked down at Rae, laying there. "So Rae, do you believe in me? Destiny isn't just prophecy, it's the strength behind our choices. Do you trust me?" He gave a gentle smile, and then closed his eyes.
Castiel (played by Ambrosia)

Castiel smiled devilishly, his nail may have broken but pain was normal for him. in fact, to him, it was the only thing that was real.

In an instant Castiel appeared behind Rae, Bathe held firmly in his hand he wrapped the other hand over hers around the blade "here, let me help you with that" not giving her a moment to think he forced Rae to thrust the blade into Tenoji "good girl" he said against her ear in a soft whisper, his breath tickling the rim of her ears. he flashed away appearing near the temple stairs "you want the book?" he let out a monstrous roar "come and get him" A nogitsune thrived off chaos and strife. The magic was a pent up evil from the Temple and it was a gold mine for Castiel. If the sacrifice is made and the right words are chanted, the power of the temple will be focused onto the one with the crimson amulet, Castiel.

Castiel's body was already morphing little by little as he stayed near the temple. Scales formed in patches over his body and the iris in his right eye turned golden.

Rae growled at the book. If she were to make it out alive, Bathe would be the first she would kill. When Tenoji walks over to her, she twitches violently. The energy from the temple begins to drain her body of energy. When the swords end slides into the hand she barely grips it. " I-I.. I trust you Ten- " Then the unbelievable happened. Castiels grip was to strong for her to fight and she laid on her back wide mouthed. " Tenoji..."She gasped and started to cry softly.

When Castiel spook into Rae's ear, her body shivered. Even crying, her body still wanted to do as Castiel commanded. She tried to stay on the ground, but she slowly turned over. She wanted the book, she needed the book. Rae slowly found her feet and tried to plant them to the ground, but she stepped forward. She cried and through her weeps, began to speak. " Stop... Please stop... I can't do this... I- I can't! " She fell to the ground, not wanting to move.
A finger slip, that's all it takes. The slip of your hand on a book for it to open slightly. Focused on the transformation his body was going threw was over taking him. "That's called puberty Castiel," Bathe chuckled. Why mouth off? Because the book slipped, being gripped near the spine with such a firm hold had hatched his pages just a half inch. Pages waft for that mere second and a bubble popped on the cover as the book crumbled into lava melting the hand in which he was being held. Molten liquid Bathe dropped to the temple floor along with most of Castiel's hand.

The lava crusted up and crumbled like ash. The ash blew across the ground, just cold embers before whirling together into Book form once more at the feet of Rae. "I know you may want to kill me. But there isn't much time..." He smiled as another tear fell onto his cover, "let's not give this bastard a HANDicap!" Cold air blew down his spine and he knew some serious shit was about to go down, he didn't much care to save the world... But if that was what it took to get his wish, and ultimately pages back, then it was time to get down to business!

((I gotta give props to my homies here, for letting me voice their characters. It took me a while to get them all to say yes. But since they aren't on RPR, this was the best way to handle it.))

The blade nicked Ten's heart as it past through him, his blood flowing heavily through his back. As it traveled down him, and dripped upon the ground, it glowed a bright gold. The magic within every drop crystallized into a solid golden coin that clattered onto the ground. Ten pulled back, pulling the blade from himself with a small gasp at the agonizing slowness of it. His blade refused to leave Rae's hand, even if she released her grip on it, she'd find it magically held to her palm. Ten's blood coursed to the blade, and as it touched the engravings of the various animals, their gemstone eyes began to glow bright blue with an internal light. Ten muttered, "It's up to you, Rae." In barely a whisper as he past into unconsciousness.

Ten came free of the blade and collapsed to the ground in a heap. His body began to lose cohesion it seemed, a spider-web of cracks spreading over his wound that glowed through his clothing, like the physical form was nothing more than a broken pane of glass. Within them, golden fire burned brightly, like the broken physical body could no longer with-hold what lay inside.

Suddenly, the blade in Rae's hand warmed. It's magic activating, and she would become aware of a conversation going on...far, far from here. Voices were talking through the sword, communicating through a complex web of thought-speech in a city by the ocean. Rae would almost be able to see the city, if she concentrated on what the sword was giving her. A massive metropolis. with seven huge skyscrapers at it's heart, their towering heights arranged to look like sword blades raised to the sky.

"Well, there he goes...why does he always end up like this?" A brooding woman's voice echoed in from the sword into the mind of the girl who held it.
A raven cawed telepathically, "I think he gets off on it. It's the adrenaline, man, gets him right there. Also, he gets to do that whole big dramatic return thing when he does."
C'mon you guys, peace and love. We have a job to do...She's got the sword. She can hear us." Another woman's voice, this one much more light and friendly sounding.

The brooding woman took up the conversation again, this time, they seemed aware that Rae could hear them. As the brooding voice came to her, the sword let her almost see the bearer with her mind's eye. And this creature, was no woman. She was a giant chitinous spider...pure white as snow, and smooth as a Widow in her web. She clicked and clacked together her venomous fangs as she spoke to Rae. "Honestly, how sad. She's a werewolf and she can barely lift herself. This is really the best card the king could play?"

A gruff voice came over the sword's gestalt bond, the Spider fading out for a large muscular werewolf of tawny-golden fur. "Not all werewolves are created equal..."

The Spider snapped, her remark back biting, "Shut up, Riddle. Don't you have some police things to be going? Now listen, Girl...What you have in your hand is something precious. That sword is a Klaive, a forged artifact of great power. Through it, you're connected to all the shapeshifters in Tenoji's city. Us, to put it bluntly. Now, this is our gambit...We need you to keep the Abomination busy...While Flower Child here..."

The friendly voiced female piped in, a little grumpily, "That is not my name." Rae could see her too, the spider fading from her imagination to be replaced by a rather petite looking young woman, wearing a leather headband and a tie-dyed shirt.

"No for you it's a state of being..." The spider bit back, "So Flower Child can work her magic through the sword on Ten. We need you to fight, Rae. We'll give you the power, and guide your hands. You just have to...STAND UP!" The last words rang out of the sword. From tip to hilt, a fine golden mist flowed, along the sword and over Rae's hand. It sent power straight into her through her skin...The force of the collective wills of an entire population of shapeshifters thousands strong giving her just a small tiny amount of their own will to strength her body and mind. They hoped to give her the strength to resist Castiel's influence and the influence of the temple. The hippie woman spoke again, "Rae, you need to invoke my clan. Think on a bear and swing the sword...Or just call out our name, Gurahl. I'll be taking care of Tenoji."

The caw came again, "Then you are going to need something to obscure your approach, that's where I come in. Call for the Corax. Think Ravens...Lots of ravens, sweetheart"
