What initially got you interested in the Victorian era?

Not gonna lie. Her.
Her story, her aesthetic, it just drew me in and I have been drowning in victorian era stuff since. /pos
This part of the story especially, this pic just looks so cozy and sweet and carefree.🥺
What is Ouji Fashion? And is it difficult to get into as a beginner?

1: Ouji Fashion, in short, is a fashion style inspired by clothing worn by young boys in the victorian era, or princes!
('Ouji' is Japanese for 'Prince'!)
2: Yes and no.
They have shops that specifically sell outfits, but they are very pricey, such as this one and this one.
(I've never bought anything from shops however!)
Amazon, however, has cheaper ways to get into Ouji, but requires you to create and match your own outfit with various things you may find there.
Is Ouji Fashion something you practice in real life too? If not, would you want to and what's keeping you from doing so if yes?

I do practice it in real life! Almost everyday.
I love dressing in blouses, vests/waistcoats, hats, long socks, sailor shirts, shorts, and other victorian-like clothing or accessories! I don't have any 'name-brand' stuff, but that's okay. As long as it fits nicely and looks cute.
Just how many ocs do you have?

Not counting group/character hub profiles like Daslabor, and OCs without profiles on RPR...
About 31, two of those being a twin character profile and a duo character profile.
If I counted the group/hub profiles, I'd have a lot more.

Thank you!
What are people commonly wrong about for the victorian era?

Fashion, mostly! A lot of people design victorian characters with outfits and such that isn't belonging to the time period! I'm probably guilty of it myself, as— despite my love of Ouji fashion— I'm not all that knowledgeable with fashion and fashion terms!
And while I'm not sure this applies to others, this applied to me in the past.
France Hodgson Burnett's story "The Secret Garden" actually wasn't written in the victorian era! It was close to, but was not written then! It was written in 1910-1911. The victorian era ended in 1901, when Queen Victoria died.
I honestly thought the book written in the victorian era too until I seen that it, in-fact, wasn't.

The Secret Garden is a children's novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett first published in book form in 1911, after serialisation in The American Magazine (November 1910 – August 1911). Set in England, it is seen as a classic of English children's literature. The American edition was published by the Frederick A. Stokes Company with illustrations by Maria Louise Kirk (signed as M. L. Kirk) and the British edition by Heinemann with illustrations by Charles Heath Robinson.
Oh golly that is one of my absolute favorite books, has been since I was a kid.

It is such a good book! I've been desperately wanting a Secret Garden RP here on RPR but not a lot of people know of it, and if they do, they don't RP it. Love to see other Secret Garden fans!!
