Hello,
Lowlaville here. For the past 10 years, I've been in a construction company, moving from island to island, project after project.
I enjoy writing and thinking about worlds and lore.
Ask me anything.

1: Has your job working in construction helped your writing in any way?
Hi! Do you see people and situations in your daily routine that inspire you in your writing?

I think so. Not in creating OCs but definitely has helped me mature a bit and that in turn has helped me with writing.
I used to be quick to anger, very toxic, and in general I'm sure traits I still possess, but I generally avoid those people or situations if I do come across it.
Life isn't about having the last word and perhaps it's a testament to be being over 34 years old now.
@Dawnia
I do tend to take inspiration from stories my colleagues tell, for example, just today, I wrote an short story about a man and woman, divorced, with a child stuck in the middle.
I've turned it into a full story. I like writing emotions and how it affects character interactions.
What are the most challenging aspects of being a writer and a construction worker?

One of the most challenging aspect of working in a construction site, I think, is the rhythm of it all.
Wake up - > have coffee - > work - > have breakfast - > work - > break - > work- > lunch - > work - > day end, rinse and repeat
And since I work on uninhabited or private islands, after work, I'm still limited to the work environment, the colleagues, etc.
It's not that I don't have free time, but until unless I make an effort to post while I'm in the office, I don't or can't post at all.
Maybe I should tell everyone ill post once a week so they don't have expectations.
Do you typically work on more residential projects, or more commercial? Constructionwise, I mean.

The company I'm involved with does a bit of both. I've mostly been involved in marine construction projects (overwater villas, restaurants, spas, etc.) and mostly sub-structures (foundational columns, cones, beams slabs).
This is the last project I worked on. The substructures for about 50 villas including balancing tanks, main jetty and branch jetty decking. But our company also does projects involving breakwaters, harbors and jetties.
Oh whoa that's so cool looking!
Is that a drone pic?
