He tried to pull his face away when she tried getting some of the dirt off. Almost like a baby not wanting their mother to wipe food off their face. He relaxed a little when she pulled her hand away. He looked at her hand, before reaching out his hand slightly, despite the fact it had dirt on it, and took her hand. After all, what child disliked getting dirty?
She fussed a little when he pulled back. "I'm just trying to help." But, she smiled at him, and helped him up. "What should we do now?" She asked cheerfully.
Once she had helped him up, he looked down at his dirty shirt and jeans, but played it not to much mind. He scanned the playground, and his face lit up seeing something that looked fun. A Round-A-Bout, formally known as a Merry-Go-Round.
She waited for his response, hopping from one foot to the other. There was the distant sound of someone yelling, but it wasn't loud enough for them to notice just yet. Luisa looked around the park for something to do.
Vlad had not heard the sound of somebody yelling, rather because it was to distant, or his mind was focused on the Merry-Go-Round. He took a step forward, and ran towards the activity.
Luisa was content to follow his lead. "The Merry-go-round?" She asked, smiling excitedly. She raced to try to beat him to it. But she was still smaller and a bit slower.
Vlad looked back at her, "yes!" He said. He then decided to slow down, to let her win this time. He didn't savor, or crave victory, so he wouldn't mind if she won.
She raced past him and reached it first with a cry of glee. "I win!" She then hopped onto it and tried to figure out how it worked. "How do we make it go?"
He came in second place reaching the merry-go-round, and smiled at her, "good job!" He said glad that she won."Hang onto one of the bars" he said and once she was hanging on, slowly he began pushing it. He had to use all his energy to push it, but it was worth it,
She held on tight and giggled as it started to move as he pushed. "Yayy!" As she went around on it, the person who had yelled earlier reached the edge of the playground and yelled "LUISA! WHERE ARE YOU?" Luisa immediately looked frightened and held on tighter to the bar.
Vlad pushed and pushed to all his ability to make the merry-go-round go in circles, but paused, hearing the voice. He looked in the direction the voice came from, then looked at Luisa. Seeing she looked frightened. But why?
Luisa looked anxious but finally managed to say. "I have to go now." A man made his way across the playground, and he looked very cross. He wasn't even walking in a straight line, he seemed to be drunk. Luisa got off the Merry-Go-Round. "I'll see you later?" She looked at Vlad.
Vlad looked down sadly, the fun had to stop so soon. It couldn't be helped. He looked at Luisa, he nodded quietly. His golden eyes made there way to the man..
Luisa smiled a little at him and then went to the man. "I'm here, Daddy." The man frowned down at the girl and said. "Come on. Let's go home." He took her hand and half-dragged the girl behind him. Luisa glanced back at her new friend before giving in and following her dad.
Vlad smiled t the girl, and waved her goodbye. He wished she could've stayed longer, but it was getting dark, so in his childish mind, now was a good time for parents to take their children home. Once she was gone, Vlad looked down and sighed. He felt lonely.
Luisa went home obediently and once home, that was when things got ugly. But she would never speak a word of it to anyone.
Vlad went off to try to find his grandfather. For over an hour he searched, but failed to find him. But by the middle of the night, he had accidentally fell asleep on the ground, near the slide.
The next day, Luisa returned to the park. Her face was a little bruised, but she wandered to the swings and swung for a while, not noticing that Vlad was still in the park.
Vlad Slept soundly at the end of the slide. Dreaming of how much fun he and Luisa had yesterday. Dreaming it would happen again. Blissfully unaware That she was here now,
After swinging for a while, Luisa wandered to the Merry-go-round and started pulling it around and around, running as fast as she could. Until she lost her footing and fell over. But she picked herself up and brushed herself off and that was when she saw Vlad. She walked over to him. "Vlad?"
