The sun peaked over the horizon, the night had traveled quickly threw the sky that night after story telling and his walk with Aurae. "Do u think we should trust him?" he asked the dragon lady, barely even trusting her, the walk had looped back and was almost at the camp with Quade and Piiro once more. If fighting did break out he knew Piiro would help, and had faith Quade would put up a good fight too if needed. "Where do you come from anyway?" Bathe said staying close to Aurae.
Still new to the idea of a talking book Damien hesitated with his answer, not only that but he wasn't quite sure of his place of origin. That topic had always caused Damien to question his identity but with the hoping of being accepted he replied "I come from the North, I don't remember my home land but if it is like everywhere else ive been in my travels than it is probably a land of sadness and despair." the next few seconds remained quiet and he added in a somewhat irritated tone "Look, I didn't ask to bring sadness and hatred to the hearts of those I see. I would love to tell you that im not easily hated but I am, The world around me views me as a monster or some sort of freak show and honestly I have no evidence to prove them wrong." Damien had lost his cool at that point and was no longer able to hide his true form, the dragon side of him emerged and he fell to his knees and released a blast of fire at a boulder leaving its surface black with soot. he put his hands in his face, tears rolled from his eyes as he reverted back to human form. "I never meant to harm anyone, not you, your friends" Damien took a deep breath and exhaled smoke "And I didn't mean to hurt that little girl and her father." Afraid that they would reject him after finding out what he truly was he clenched his fists, tears still rolling from his eyes he sat on the other side of the boulder out of site of the two that he had confided in.
Aurae nodded to Bathe but when Damien broke down, she stopped walking. Her eyes turned into a soft, kind blue as she walked over to him. She sat beside Damien and hesitated before hugging him gently." I don't judge. I am a dragon and a warrior a long time ago. That's why my canine grew longer." She pulled away to smile at him.
Still upset he turns and looks Aurae in the eyes "But... I am not a dragon and im not a man. im something else like a creature between the two. I don't have wings, I cant fly, I don't have a tail, my only dragon like features are my complexion and my flame and those aren't even noticeable unless I allow them to be."
Piiro had just woken up a few minutes earlier and had started on breakfast, trying to keep quiet for Quade. Now that everyone knew of Bathe's presence Piiro was at ease, he saw the three sitting off in the distance and threw another Wabbird Egg on the sizzle rock. Any traveler was more then welcome in his company as long as they meant to do him no harm. And if Bathe and Aurae seemed to be accepting him, he had no second thought about starting food for the new companion. "He guys!" He shouted forgetting about trying to keep quiet, "Come and get breakfast!"
Aurae looked up when Pirro called but looked back at Damien." You should not be like that. I am the last of my color. I am a freak among my race." She gave Damien one more soft hug before letting go and standing up and holding out her hand to him to help him up." Come. At least eat with us and if your not hungry, you can talk to Piiro." She smiled.
He let out a sigh and told Aurae "You go, I will head that way in a little while." Knowing good and well that all he would bring these travelers if he stayed was discomfort, he silently walked in the direction he was headed when he first ran into them.
"Who was that Bathe?" Piiro asked the book, but he heard no response. Fixing a plate quickly he scurried to the traveler, "Sir, sir!" He called catching up to Myzery, "We have more then enough food!" Piiro held a plate out to the traveler, hoping he would take it. "I'm Piiro, excuse my friend Bathe, he doesn't like dragons, or any strangers for that matter," Piiro said apologetically, "but you seem like the kind of guy who would appreciate fireworks."
Damien stopped walking, he took a deep breath and addressed the creature "Fireworks... Is that supposed to be some kind of joke?" The Dämonfeuer took offense to this remark and lost his cool revealing the dragon once again "You think your funny? if your trying to get me on my bad side your doing just that." he snorted as a plume of smoke escaped his nose "Leave me be Rodent! unless you want to end up being an extra crispy snack." Damien clenched his fists and continued to walk away, his threat wasn't hollow and although he had no intention of hurting anyone his inner dragon was unstable and had a bitter heart.
Piiro dropped backwards spilling the hot food on the prairie floor. He scrambled to stand up and scurried back to the camp, "Did you guys see that?" Piiro said, "Who was that guy?" He fixed the other three plates and handed one to Aurae and put the other next to Quade. Then he sat down and started to eat him self, "Well? Who was that guy??"
"Damien." Aurae looked after the Dämonfeuer with soft green eyes." Just give him some time. He will learn how to control his inner dragon and if not on his own, I can train him." She sighed before freezing and looking toward the sky.
"We should start traveling soon..." She said mostly to herself and ate quickly before packing up her items. Halfway through, she wobbled." Oh dear." She sat down." I fear it is not the best time to be moving." She looked a little ill but she knew what it was." I must be getting ready to shed my scales..."

"That gross," Piiro chuckled, his eyes found Bathe glaring at him from inside his big green pack. Piiro scarfed down the food enjoying every bite, "What are you worried about Aurae?" Piiro asked. He had a sinking feeling that this trip may mean his demise but he had decided it was all in his head, "We shared our secret with you, our reason for this quest," he took a sip of water to wash breakfast down, "What's yours?"
She smiled." I am fine, Bathe. I'm just going to be a bit slower though...into an earlier stage, I will be forced into my dragon form. I have complete control over it so I would not hurt you but I will keep my distance if you wish."
She looked at Piiro." Is it me those words are for, my friend?" Her eyes became a soft purple as she finished packing.

The wabbaloq picked up his pack swinging it on to his back, looking up at the sky in the direction she had looked, "Why did you freeze when you looked up at the sky?" Piiro asked, he would admit it looked like a a heavy rain was on the way, but he saw no harm in a little wet sky as his traveled days before had been so warm and dry it would be nice to have a break from the days of summer. "Is there something your worried about?" He then looked over at Quade who appeared to be unresponsive, "Wake up Quade, were heading out."
Myzery didn't feel right having left on such a sour note, he turned back towards the group he was with earlier. Hoping that he could apologize and return to their good graces.
Damien caught up with them and shouted "Hey! wait up."
he looked down towards the ground as he addressed Piiro. "Hey im sorry for scaring you earlier, I shouldn't have done that. Id also like to apologize for the rodent comment I made."

Piiro turned, drops starting to fall from above, "It's," He kind of hid behind Aurae a bit, "It's ok." The rain started to fall harder now and he knew Bathe hated the rain, witch was odd cause his name was Bathe. Piiro chuckled, then he realized no one was thinking the same thing he was and stopped hoping he hadn't laughed at an inappropriate time. Piiro often over thunk things.
She looked up." I was hoping it was not going to rain." She looked at them." I do not have a blanket to keep the rain off you. If you wish, I could travel as a dragon to keep the rain off you. Though I shall only transform if you are all comfortable with it." She looked mainly at Bathe, knowing he would have some hatred toward her kind.
If books could blush, Bathe would have, he floated up and over into Piiro's bag, "No thank you Aurae, I'd hate for anyone to mistake you for a fire breathing beast, instead of the kind heart you are," Realizing that this may be offensive he stammered a secondary response, "I mean not that all dragons are beast but I..." Rain fell harder, the booked slid the packs flap closed, "I'll just be in here.
She nodded." Okay." She looked up and pulled her hair into a braid." Hopefully we can find some place out of this rain so none of you get sick." She stood and picked up her back, side stepping from a slight stabbing pain in her side." Did I mention I dislike shedding at my age?" She smiled.
"Piiro strutted along book in his bag, if you guy don't want to travel with us we can go our own way," Piiro said after they had been walking for several hours, "We know the way to the Sapphire City, and I don't want to waste y'all's time." The Wabbaloq had a skip in his step he had company last night and that was enough for him. Bathe had been whispering thing to him about leaving the group and how it may be faster, but he wanted to prove that they were still going to help them reach their destination.
