(Damn. That letter... that went deep. Just... damn...)
One by one each of the yellow Jackets were tackled and consumed whole by the hungry flesh eating beasts. This was the apocalypse, it was a wonder the samurai even made it to the stands but would his pal with no cross bow share the same fate as James's companions?
Nameless struggled upward, pain from his foot and the back of his head swelled into one, he reached the top of the stairs and vomited over the side from pure uneasiness and pain. "Oh my god..."
It had to be thousands of Savage surrounding the city. The ones that couldn't pour into the entrances of the ground level were climbing on top of each other to try and get over the stadiums edge towards them.
He didn't want to turn around, should he jump and just end it? He pulled a small knife from his waist, this was not over.

"Nick..." Atlas looked around at all the dead yellow jackets and wondered why he alone had made it to the stands, but now he knew. "For my brothers..." He turned, racing up the stairs he saw the knife in Nameless's hand but didn't care! When the man lunged at him. With the dagger, the katana met the mans forearm slicing it clean off. Atlas caught the severed hand that was still gripping the knife and stabbed it into Nameless James gut... "This won't kill you, or I hope it doesn't," he looked around making sure no Savage were up the stands yet before continuing.
"We had the chance to save the world, we were humanities last chance at not only a cure but a fighting chance!" Tears rushed down Atlas's angry face, "and your petty lust for revenge ruined the only chance that this rotting world had to be restored! You killed my sister, Delilah, and now you and Nick are the only other two people alive and one is turning savage while the other is inherently evil!" He flicked his sword and most the blood dripped to the ground. "As the last shrewd of humanity in this lonely world I elect myself judge! What do you have to say for your crimes!!!!"
Savage had broken up to the bleachers and began trying to go up to where Atlas and James were, they had about a minute at most, "WHY DID YOU DO IT???"

The dome's roof was completely destroyed, rain started to pour in. The grey sky reflected the misery and chaos as body parts lay scattered across the pitch floor.
The rain poured faster like an open tap, blood seemed to seap into the pitch's artificial grass colouring patches of green with blood red. A few minutes as the rain pored lightning cracked through the grey clouds, thunder followed blanketing the cries and moans of the thousands of savages that squandered aimlessly on the pitch floor. Some followed Atlas and Nameless.
Jule's lifeless eyes stared into the sky, his skin turned a grey with patches of red as his skin slightly peeled. The irises in his eyes blanked out into a lifeless grey and the whites of his eyes blackened as they sunk into his skull a little. A group of savage gathered around him, kneeling down towards him as they dug their black nails into his dead body, they ripped his flesh and began to feast on his carcass... No matter who you were in this world... death is the only escape...

"Just because..." There had been absolutely no reason, none. James had told the people that before this he was a fire fighter, but in actuality he had been a serial killer. Murder had been his game, his fun, so entering this rot world had been the most freeing experience in the world.
"What?" He smiled trying to hold back the pain, he had pretty much accepted that he was about to die, "not the answer you expected?"
The sounds of Savage pushing up the isles made the hair on the back of his neck stand up, but he ignored it. "You thought that this would be some sort of revolutionary moment where you can forgive your worst nightmare before killing him? Well I simply won't give you that satisfaction because I simply kill because it is fun."
Rain soaked his hair, Savage mere steps away! "So why did I kill your sister? Your friends?? And your hope???" Rain drops echoed off the metal seats, "because I felt like it..."

Nick tore through Savage after Savage, knocking them into each other, snapping their necks, pounding their chests until their ribs broke, and even using some the scraps from the wreckage as makeshifts clubs. 'Gotta... fight... gotta... protect... Atlas... fight... defend... my dearest Delilah... love is like a rope.... fight... kill...' His mind was gradually slipping away, he tried his best to hold on to his fading sanity for as long as he could, if even for a second longer, he needed to give Atlas all the time he could. However, the Savage were able to grab quite a few more bites from him, which only sped up the venom's trek across his body. The further he turned, the stronger he became, the more feral he acted, and most importantly, the less hostile the Savage became. They were somehow able to tell that he would soon become one of them and now fought out of pure self defense.
'Fight... defend... Atlas... kill... your lips... brothers... sweet and sour... fight... kill...' These beings were such contradictions, primal, yet intelligent, treacherous, yet loyal, man made, yet natural, Nick had watched the Savages, studied them for his own survival, for nearly a decade, and this contradictory nature, these humans who have been reduced to little bit more than animals, had always fascinated, and terrified him, and soon he would be one of them. 'Kill... fight... destroy... ravage... eat... kill... fight...' It wouldn't be long now, he had all but forgotten what this rampage of his was for, he only persisted because he felt he needed to, and it just felt natural. He tackled one stronger looking Savage the ground and mercilessly beat it into submission, severely disfiguring its already contorted face to the point of not even being recognized as a being that was once human. 'Fight... kill... destroy... kill, eat, KILL, EAT, KILL!' This was it, the last bit of his humanity was finally fading away. His mind was filled with thoughts of hunting and bloodlust, the darkness closing in on the last bit of sanity he had left. It just about done, but just before his dark brown eyes paled into lifelessness, his mind let out one final, coherent thought.
'...Goodbye Atlas'
"GGGRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHKKKKKKKKKKK!!!"

A swift swipe of his metal blade separated Nameless's head from his shoulders. It fell pack wards off and away from the Chief's Stadium causing Savage to fall over each other trying to consume the dark face and evil mind of the bandit king. How dare he, kill just because? It made no sense, had this world truly force someone into that dark of a place? No it had to be in his past, it had to be from before all of this. Atlas turned, slicing the first responding Savage in two, waist and abdomen falling in different directions.
This couldn't be it? Nick was gone, Jules was gone, Jai and Abe were lost what seemed like years ago. But thinking back it had only been about two weeks since Atlas met Nick and Jai in the first place. He turned seeing the announcers booth and took off running but a Savage cut him off! It was Jules, or the dead version... "Sorry buddy," he said slicing the boys head diagonally. The boy fell, finally at peace and maybe he would be happier in death. He hadn't know Jules a long time but he some how reminded him of Jai, how odd.
Atlas opened the announcers booth and slammed the door behind him locking it. The next few hours got a bit hazy though. Any Savage that may or may not have been inside were now nothing but spilled red paint coating the walls and floor. The sword dropped and Atlas laid down. His head pounded wildly as the undead banged at the door. This lasted minutes, then hours, then eventually days. Just under ten thousand zombies had been migrating south. And it took exactly three days for all of them to finally, filter out.
And then at the end of it all there was Atlas... Alone.
The door nob turned and a boy stepped in, dude what are you doing we should have left an hour ago! "Nick," Atlas said half confused, "what are you talking abo..." Just the Jai walked in with a bottle of scotch in his hand, Atlas, buddy! Look what I found in the player lounge! "Jai? Your alive???" Now nothing made sense! Nick gave Atlas a hand and he stood up Jules and Abe are in the car, we found a letter that says the researchers are in Chicago! Atlas had embraced this insanity as reality. "Wait really? Let's go!"
As Atlas opened the door into the empty stadium with nothing but bloody cloths and a single sword he was happy, forced into a peace of mind by his own undoing. Traveling on believing he was surrounded by his companions once more....
