"Of course you will," Atlas smiled at Jai's bravery, "I would have gone in, crapy weapon and all," he paused. "No offense," he said looking at the machete, "but Nick said he got this, if he or I thought that he couldn't do it, of course I would have gone in with him but we have to have faith in each other."
Atlas opened his door and got out of the fire truck, taking Jai's canteen. He clicked the lever to a low setting through the window and went to fill it up. He walked back and opened the door, getting in once more. Atlas took a sip and handed the fairly cool water to Jai, "Drink it dude, everything will be alright in there."

Jai took a sip, screwed the canteen shut and stepped out of the truck. He took the bow from the seat and shut the door then pulled an arrow from his quiver and took it with his weak hand, a pained moan escaping his lips as he closed his eyes and to compose himself. He slowly but eventually stumbled his way to the front door, took a deep breath and pushed the door open with his shoulder "I'm going to go and make sure he comes back safe"
Atlas knew it wasn't a good idea, he grabbed Jai by the back of the collar and slammed him against the fire truck, no really to be mean just to prove a point. "If you don't have faith in Nick that's fine, but I do," Atlas took the bow from the wounded boy and tossed it back into the truck, "and I'm not going to let you stumble into a savage death trap, if that's even what it is, in your condition."
Atlas had a hand on Jai's Machete, "stand down and just wait for Nick to come back with some meds." Atlas knew the more people that went in the more attention that would be attracted to the hospital. It was smarter, safer, and easier for everyone just do follow the original plan. Atlas didn't want to knock the boy unconscious... But he wouldn't let him barge in and get Nick and himself killed.

Jai pushed he hands away "I HAVE FAITH BUT FEAR IS MOSTLY WHAT IM USED TO!" He stood up, brushed his shoulders "I can't just sit here man... We've both seen what faith gets us... We've both had heart ache... He's just a human, he's not special and today could be his time to clock and we won't be there to stop it" he looked at the floor "it something happens to him, I'll be held accountable and where will your faith be then!?" He was just as mad but he knew where Atlas was going.

The group continued north cutting through Savages and destroyed refugee camps. But they were wary, only thirteen people, six men, four women, and three kids. Nameless went over their names over and over in his dead, Blake, Josh, Marco, Jacob, Ted, Kira, Jory, Alexis, Gina, and the kids, Sarah, Aiden, and Lawrence.
These names drilled into his head, no one else would be lost, no one! They would get to Kansas City, kill the blonde samurai and gain live happily ever after. Death Storm was all he could think about at night, in his dreams their fight was played out over and over again, James was obsessed. The style, the cunning, the form, the cut.
The wound on his chest had healed pretty nicely but the scar would remain there for every, "a few more days people! Kansas will be our home, our haven, our salvation!"

After what felt like an eternity of searching, Nick finally came upon a room that held a multitude of supplies, meds as far as the eye can see, which was admittedly not very far with the dim lighting and all. But it was a sight for sore eyes nonetheless, Nick quickly began sifting through the shelves, taking gauzes, bandages, painkillers, anything that he felt would ease Jai's pain.
"Just hold on a bit longer man, I'm on my way." he thought to himself as he reached for one last bottle of pain killers. Suddenly, he heard a disturbing noise from behind him, it sounded like something crawling on the floor, accompanied by what sounded like a mixture of a babies mumbling and animalistic growling. "...No, it can't be..." He slowly turned his head and his fears were confirmed. "...a Nestling." He stared at the creature as it mindlessly crawled across the room. The Savage may seem like nothing but mindless eating machines, but that was only half true. They were merely animalistic humans, relying mostly on the most basic of instincts, and like human and animal's alike, the Savage retained their innate need to breed. However, the result was hardly what the Savage had in mind, being born with the virus, the "Nestlings" were mutated and grotesque, born prematurely and yet the size of the average infant. They're arms and legs were long and lanky, they crawled on all fours like a spider, and had impressive jumping ability. They were also always born blind, relying on their hearing to track down their pray, and the worst part was that unlike their Savage parents, they had no sense of self preservation.
Nick held his breath, taking the last of his supplies and began to quietly make his way to the door, the last thing he wanted was to make his presence known. He felt a twinge of relief once he made it out of the room, Nestlings weren't much trouble on their own, but where there was one, there were usually others. Nick's eyes widened to the size of saucers upon looking into the hallway, for before him was what seemed like a dozen of Nestlings, emerging from the rooms further down either side of the hall. Nick had suspected this, the signs were all there, but now there was no doubt in his mind... he was in a Savage Nest.

Atlas still looked at Jai sitting on the ground, machete in hand but he couldn't help but to glance over at the hospital in the distance. It was a mile and a half from where they sat in the fire truck. Atlas out his machete away and took a long amusement park straw from his satchel, he had to find gas in one of these cars, if Nick was in trouble they would need a quick get away. "Jai," Atlas called, tossing a long straw and a bucket to the boy. If your strong enough to fight your strong enough to get gas from cars."
Atlas opened a car door with a dead body in it looking for the keys. Just then the body came alive! Biting Atlas's fire arm, with it's weak jaw! It was a savage trapped in here, so it never got strong like the rest had. A machete threw it's skull quieted the beast. "I'm ok," Atlas called, the beast had only left a little mark and he wasn't bleeding that much but if he didn't have his special blood he'd be a savage in the next hour. "Don't worry I got the blood," he smiled, going back to what he was doing, "let's get some gas and be ready to leave when Nick gets back, this place doesn't feel right to me."

Jai took the straw and saw a car to his right. He approached it, siphoning the fuel into a gas can he found in the back of the truck. A few cars later he looked over at Atlas and saw the savage bite him, for a moment he forgot Atlas was immune but he quickly pulled back on his compound bow but a pain shot through his weak hand making him cry out in pain and release the arrow at full speed, it pierced the car door only a few CM from Atlas's hand.
"AGH, shit..." He said shaking his hurt arm, he looked over at Atlas worried, sighing in relief as Atlas wasn't wounded. He looked over at the hospital, uneasy and slightly afraid for Nick's well being, that was before he spotted a horde of savage in the upper floor window "dude!?" He said to Atlas quickly running towards him "I don't know about you but that horde in the building looks too much for Nick to handle"

Nick was frozen in place, one wrong move and he would have a swarm of baby Savage on his tail. So long as he didn't make too much noise the Nestlings wouldn't be able to tell where he was, but that still begged the question of how he was supposed to make it out of the hospital without alerting them.
"Well, just standing here like an idiot isn't going to help me." he thought, and with that he mustered up all of his courage and took a single, quiet step. He looked around to see if the Nestlings had noticed him yet, luckily they haven't. Nick continued practically tiptoeing around the Nestlings, making sure not to brush past them as he walked, then there would be no hiding his presence. He looked back at the large swarm of Nestlings just before he turned the corner, he seemed to be in the clear, that much he was thankful for, but just as he thought he would make it out, his next step landed right on top of a Nestling, crushing it slightly. Nick froze in terror, as moments later the Nestling began crying, a deranged version of a human infant's cry, which attracted the attention of all of the Nestlings in the hall, they knew he was here now.
"Oh shit!" He exclaimed quietly as he witnessed the Nestlings swarm in his direction. Nick thought fast and kicked the crushed Nestling into the room across from him through a broken door. The Nestlings heard the sound of the door and flooded into the room, assuming that was where Nick had escaped too. With this, Nick frantically ran down the hallway, trying to remember where the nearest exit was. The distraction didn't work for long, as one of the slower Nestlings heard the sound of his footsteps and alerted it's brethren. They were once again chasing Nick, but he knew exactly what to do. At every intersection he would shoot an arrow in the opposite direction he intended to go, shattering a window or knocking down some stacked up furniture. This would diverge the Nestlings long enough for Nick to gain some distance, but they always found their way back to him. He did this three more times until he realized he was just running in circles, and every time he did find an exit the Nestlings would appear to obstruct his path.
"Damn it, this isn't good, I gotta find a way out." He said to himself, trying to think his way out of this dire situation.

Atlas nodded looking up, the building was pretty far off but he could tell that something was moving in the upper building. "Get in the truck," Atlas said pouring the last of the collected gas into the tank, were heading over there." It took a moment or two to start up the big fire truck but it eventually got moving, damn he thought, we should have switched to a smaller car. The truck pulled up slowly to the front of the hospital, and Atlas got out.
"You have got to be kidding me," he saw the baby Savage, "a Rot Doll..." He was unfamiliar with the scientific name for them Rot Doll is just what his sister used to call them. "We can't go in or those Rot Dolls will get in the way of his exit." Atlas thought for a moment, unless that's what we want. He jumped back in the truck and flipped on the fire siren. "This will draw them out of the building, giving Nick the chance to escape!"

"Screw that! Ram this big bastard into the front door and I'll use the lift to get to the higher windows giving him an exit, as soon as I call your name, slam the breaks and get us out, nor arguing, only you can drive" with that he climbed to the lift and used it to raise up to level with the window "NICK!" He called out hoping he'd pin point his voice.
Nick was cornered, the Nestlings were coming at him from all sides, he had only two arrows left in his bow and it would take to long for him to reload, he was trapped. Suddenly, he heard the sound of the siren from the fire truck blaring right outside. This caught the attention of all of the Nestlings, they completely ignored Nick and went for the nearest exit, hoping to find the source of the sound.
"Thanks guys." He said to himself, taking a moment to catch his breath. This was absolute genius, he siren attracted the Nestlings away from him, but they wouldn't be able to get outside anyway, Nestlings hated sunlight, it burned their eyes and their skin, that's why he called them Nestlings, because they NEVER left the nest. While that means that the closest exits would be blocked, it also means that the Nestlings wouldn't be able to chase him anymore, they wouldn't be able to hear his footsteps over the siren, it was perfect. Now all that was left to do was find a safe way out, and that's when he heard the faint sound of Jai's voice. "Jai?" he tried to listen for where it was coming from, and his ears lead him to a staircase. "No way." he said as he climbed up, and upon reaching the second floor he saw Jai, on the lift, right next to the window. Nick smiled in delight, he was actually going to make it. All that was left was to open the window. He took his crossbow and shot an arrow, cracking it enough for him to shatter it. With that done, he leaped out of the window and onto the lift, just barely making it on.

"Jai," Atlas said I'm going to trust you not to do anything," the door slammed and Jai was climbing into the roof wounded, "...stupid..." But sure enough the plan worked Nick got out ok and everything seemed fine. Except of course for safety, Savage began to run outside via front door of the hospital but Atlas couldn't get the truck out of park, "what the hell?" A warning sign was brought to his attention, it said: Gear shifting will be disabled if the ladder is open.
"Damn safety mechanisms," Atlas's grin vanished, "guys close the ladder! Close the ladder!" Savage began pushing the truck, swarming it from only the right side! Anymore and the truck would flip over, and since the ladder could only be raised or closed from the outside he couldn't do it from in here. And if he went up there himself no one would be in the driver seat.
Thinking quickly Atlas flicked the siren lever on and off three times, hopefully an SOS telling his crew he wasn't just sitting here for fun, he was trapped. And they were trapped along side him as more and more savage filtered out of the hospital, "come on guys, figure it out! Close the ladder!!" By now the sounds of savage over powered his voice, he needed them to close it!!!

"Oh shit, why isn't he moving" he looked over the to see Atlas, when he heard the SOS he finally clicked, quickly slamming the lever down to get the lift to lower, it was jammed, one of the savage trapped it's hands in the gears. Jai handed Nick his bow and arrows "you can still shoot, either use my bow or your crossbow to cover me"
He left no room for arguments, he climbed over the railing, still keeping it in his mind that his left(?) hand was damaged, and down the ladder to the savage that trapped it's hand, Jai flipped his pocket knife and stabbed the savage in the temple. It went limp and Jai was already onto cutting its hand off but the knife wasn't doing much. Jai lead agains the ladder steps and slammed his foot into the lifeless savage's face numerous times, hoping the hand would break off. Finally the savage's hand broke loose and the body dropped to the rest below, Jai pushed the hand out of the gears then looked up at Nick, sweat running down his face "LOWER THE LI-" cut off by a savage grabbing his weak hand, dropping his only means of self defence into the horde below, he pushed back the savage's head from biting but his attempts were futile, he lost his hold on the Savage's head and felt its teeth dig into his arm. He cried in pain.

Nameless James
The group had walked into a Savage pack or two but with the blood bites didn't effect them. Normally a bite would take about an hour to transform someone into a savage.
If you were smaller it would be more like forty five minutes, if you were bigger it'd be more like two hours m, but an hour was the norm. Nameless just kept getting better with his dual fire axes, in his mind he was training to kill the devil amount men.
The group had found a good car or two which they used to pump gas into a school bus, they were now making their way closer and closer to Kansas City, they would set up traps and all sorts of cool things once they got there. "Guys, this is the final battle!"
Death Storm warning created by Atlas were all over their path. Nameless didn't know Atlas had created them though. "This samurai is the devil, and we are all that stands in the way of the devil taking over our world!"

Nick wasn't any good with a bow, so he took the arrows he was given and loaded them into this crossbow. As Jai climbed down the lift he kept the Savage at bay as best he could, his priority was to keep Jai safe as he readied the lift. He killed about five or six Savage before he heard Jai's order, but when he was cut off he looked back down and saw the Savage grabbing on to him.
"Jai!" he exclaimed, he aimed his crossbow down to the Savage, but he couldn't get a clear shot. He eventually gave up and began lowering the lift, praying that Jai would be able to hold it off. Unfortunately, his prayers were unanswered, as he witnessed the Savage sink it's teeth into Jai's arm. "NO!!" He completely forgot the risk and shot an arrow which pierced the Savage's head, killing him and loosening it's jaw, falling to the ground. "Jai, JAI!!!" He said with concern as he helped the poor boy up. He frantically pushed him into the passenger side of the truck and squeezed in himself soon after. "PUNCH IT!!!!"

Atlas tried to put it into gear but it was too late the fire truck flipped onto it's side, "Damnit!" The savage continued to push the truck and it broke threw the rusted, damaged railing. The truck flipped over and over crashing into the small pond bellow. It wasn't too deep but it was deep enough for the whole truck to sink into.
Atlas struggled to push threw the truck and tried to help Jai out of the passenger seat but he noticed the boy was bit. He needed to council with Nick, but this wasn't the time he tried to push Jai out of the truck but it wasn't working. Atlas needed air, he swam upward and he would come back.
Upon reaching the surface he saw Nick bloody from the roll over, laying on the hill. He would have dove back down for Jai but the Savage swarm were heading down the hill. "Save Nick, or Save Jai?" Atlas asked himself out loud, Jai had a savage bite and Nick did not. Atlas rushed to Nick, "Get up man!" He swung the Machete but it was a faulty weapon and the blade broke off the handle.
"Come on Nick get up!" Atlas pushed Nick down the hill and began going fisticuffs with some of the first responding Savages, a gardeners shack was just a few feet from Atlas! "There may be a weapon in there!" Storm began making a lot of noise leading the savage away from Nick. Would Jai die???

Jai was completely knocked unconscious, hitting his head against the passenger window but he was quick to regain his consciousness. He felt the sensation of falling and everything was in slow-motion as his adrenaline kicked in. He saw the pond approach slowly and he raised his hand to cover his eyes from the smashing glass, cutting his other arm a dozen times before a big enough piece of glass flew into his wrist. It sliced half way into his wrist cutting part of his bone.
Under the water he cried in pain, his seat belt was stopping him from getting out, he looked out of the driver window and saw atlas come in for a second, see his bite, hesitate, then leave him. He was losing blood, air and was bit, but he still fought, managing to use his infected hand to unbuckle himself. As he got ready to swim, darkness slowly creeping into the edges of his vision. He kicked frantically, everything was really slow, he saw the sunlight grow but he felt himself slip.
His head pierced the surface of the pond, he gasped for breath, he came so far, he had what he came for, not even god could take him now. Both his arms weren't strong and savage jumped in after him "HELP" he kicked as hard as humanly possible to keep himself floating, but he had no idea how to handle the savage that swam for him, he heard their screeches approaching him.
He looked over at the two "HELP!" He yelled, using every ounce of whatever energy he had left but soon enough his body was running on fumes, his legs burning from the kicking.
Was he worth the effort, he scratched, bruised, cut and bitten, would they let him die?

Nicks vision slowly began to clear, he looked around to find himself on the shore of a small pond, the hoard of Savage approaching them. The last few moments were hazy, he assumed that he climbed out of the truck and swam to shore, he even felt his crossbow strapped to his back like always, at least he wasn't without a weapon. The same couldn't be said for Jai and Atlas, he watched as the former "Samurai" tried to fight his way through the Savage with his bare hands, usually he would think he was a goner, but with Atlas... he just didn't know what to think. Once his head cleared, he remembered Jai, he was injured and possibly still in the truck. He stood back up and looked out to the sunken Firetruck, he assumed the worse. However, moments later, Jai popped up, easing his worries. However, his cries for help alerted a couple of Savage that immediately began to swim for him. Nick was in a bind, he knew what most other Survivors would do in this situation, leave the infected guy for dead and go help his healthy companion, he had to admit, he understood the logic behind it, after all Jai would soon turn into a Savage anyway, what point would there be in saving him?
On the other hand... Jai was the one who brought them the chance to end this horrid nightmare, and he saved his ass just minutes ago, he couldn't just leave him for dead, he wouldn't be able to live with himself if he did... if they couldn't save him, at the VERY least he deserved an honorable execution. He took his crossbow from his back and shot at the Savage in the water, killing them before they got to Jai.
"Get over here man, we need to head to the shack, hurry, I'll cover for you!" He said as he turned his attention to the rest of the horde.

The shack was extremely a small, he slammed the door screaming and banging trying to attract the savage and sure enough he did. Undead hands began breaking threw reaching for him. He looked around gardening stuff, "how the hell is any of this stuff going to..." His eyes found a case on the ground shoved under a work bench. He bent down and opened it.
"Hell yeah!" A chainsaw in perfect condition, he shook it, "empty?" Wait, Storm thought about filling the fire truck up, he had excess gas he poured into a water bottle. Opening his satchel he took out the bottle pouring it all into the chain saw. "Here we go!" The door broke down as he started the chain saw, Grrrrrruuummmmmm nummmmm nummmm nummmm!!! It sounded like the roar of a steel dragon as it hacked threw the Savage.
Atlas couldn't help but to laugh, he was so luck he almost couldn't handle it, "hey scum bags!"Atlas called drawing the savage away from his friends, "who wants a piece of this baby!" He yelled cutting away at the savage! Grummmm Nummm Grrrraaaaaahhh!!!
