Morning had come and Atlas kicked Nick gently. He hadn't slept to well between Nick crying himself to sleep and the shrieks outside. He could have sworn he had heard a person outside the gas station, but he didn't think to much about it. "Nick get up, it is about time we got out of this town," A bit of a harder foot jabbed into the boys side. "We can be to Kansa City in two days tops," once Atlas was sure the boy was up he walked the window.

Savage and broken down cars littered the outside. Sure it would be easy to drive but it didn't seem to be an option right now. But that was ok, while Nick slept in Atlas had discovered an old basement with some skeletons locked inside. It made a short tunnel to the next building where they could travel by roof top until they were out of the city. "Follow me, well wait to find a car till we get out of the city."

Atlas lead his friend down and into the tunnel, it was dark but empty surprisingly. It was probably used by the military, broken clips and empty rusted guns lay all over the floor. "Hell yeah!" A case was opened and a pristine riot armor was inside. The pants were missing but upon examination a man lay dead trying to put them on. "Do you want the arm pads or the vest?" He asked putting the helmat on Nick, it was only fair they shared.

Abe woke up. It was morning. He grabbed his riot shield that he got from the station's basement and his sword, and seeing that the coast was clear, got out of the car. Knowing where the tunnel lead, seeing as nobody was in the station anymore, headed to the buildings to try and meet the survivors.

Nameless James

His band of families and strangers were doing quiet fine in this town. A few had asked him if they could stay here for longer then two more days. It was a safer place then the road now that they cleared out a lot of the buildings. Nestlings and Savages alike all slaughtered by Yellow Jackets.

"Fine lets stay here for a week more," Nameless said trying to hold on to what was left of his sanity, "if everything continues to go good well stay if we lose someone well keep going."

Worse came to worst Nameless was at the point would just slaughter one of the easier targets like a child or someone in the next week. He liked the city but wasn't good enough. The highways did make a good place for his archers to sit and snipe people.

There was no way even with Nick, that the sword less samurai could beat his army of twelve. It was almost at end game, who would win? Who would win indeed, Death Storms or the Yellow Jackets? Only time could tell.

"Uh... the jacket I guess." Nick replied. He caught the jacket as Atlas tossed it at him and proceeded to put it on. It took him a minute to figure out how, but once it was on he did feel a lot safer. He looked around the area. He struggled to stay awake, he didn't get much sleep either the night before, nightmares of Jai and his death plaguing his mind all through the night, some even featured him coming back as a Savage and taking vengeance on him for letting him die. He shook his head of those thoughts, he knew that Jai didn't want them to blame themselves for his death, but his subconscious was harder to convince.

"Man, it sure is lucky you found this," He said, as if to keep his mind off of his depressing thoughts. "I tell ya, I live for this kind of stuff. I've found tons of secret passage ways and alternate routes in the town you found me in, saved my ass plenty of times when I was scavenging... yeah, I'll miss that place." He was brought out of his thoughts by the sound of the entrance opening. "Someone's here." He warned, turning and pointing his crossbow at the entrance. "Who's there?" He demanded, as the figure came into view.

Abe opened the door into the building and walked in. He imediatly heard someone ask who was there. He brought the riot shield in front of him. "I'm a friendly." he called back. "My name is Abe."

'Yeah well I'm not!' Julius yelled out grabbing Abe from behind, he brought his hatchet to Abe's neck 'well it really depends... Why are you people in my hideout?' He asked, holding abs tight with his free hand, he pressed the blade of his hatchet lightly against Abe's warm neck, the cold blade kissing his skin. Abs was used as a shield for Julius 'where is the boy and the girl?' Julius' heart began to race, he thought the worst but he wasn't aware that the three people that were in his hideout at the minute were actually innocent.

There was a silence between them, sounds of groaning and footsteps were heard on the roof. The steps made themselves to the roof stair access and eventually two savage appeared out of the door way.

'Oh no...' Jule muttered out, his grip loosened before he let to completely of Abe and slowly made his way to the dazed savages. For a mement he looked at them with wide eyes, his mouth open as if to say say something. He was choking on his words... He took a painful breath through his teeth and gripped his other hatchet from it's sheath. Now holding two hatchets he slowly walked towards the 2 savages, a boy and a girl, Jule raised both of the hatchets above his head and as soon as the savages came within chomping distance both his hatchets came flying down into the top of their heads.

Both bodies fell limp on the floor, Jule was unable to make a sound 'take what you want, do what you want... Your true enemy in this world...' He fell to the floor and dropped his hatchets next to him'is you' slowly resting his head and his back against isle shelves. He closed his eyes as his head faced the ceiling, a single tear slid down his right cheek. Both savages lay limp besides him.

Abe resheathed the dagger he pulled out to try and get away from the guy who grabbed him. He walked over to him and sat down next to him. "I'm sorry for your loss." he said. "Though I'm kind of glad you let go of me quickly, I didn't want to have to stab you in self-defense."

Atlas watched the savage enter from where they had been heading the library next to the gas station is what it looked like. "Taking the canned food and this armor," he said fixing the armor on his hands and forearms. He finished gathering what he could before turning to the distraught boy, "sorry we have lost people too." Atlas took a moment to wonder why they hadn't met any women yet, he had traveled with females before and he had been quite the ladies man but only guys seemed to be around anymore.

"Were just about to leave Oklahoma, were heading north towards Kansas City if you want to join?" He was a bit more offering them to help guide them out of the city since both boys seemed to have bases near by and probably knew their way out of here but if they wanted to come along he wouldn't turn anyone down. "I'm Atlas by the way, what are your names again?"

"I'm Abe. I was passing through, well, more like wandering around, when I found a car to sleep in." Abe said, standing up. "And that's when I saw you two walk into the station. And yes I would like to join you. It's gotten a bit lonely lately."

"...yeah, I know the feeling." Nick replied, a sad look on his face. He quickly recomposed himself however and faced the two new survivors again. "I'm Nick, this is a pretty good hideout you got here, I figured there were people here, it totally looks lived in, but I just assumed the two Savages outside were the former occupants, sorry for barging in." He walked up to Julius, catching a glimpse of the tear on his cheek, and looked over at the two freshly killed Savage. "...so, who were they?" He asked, it may not have been the best idea to bring it up, but he had read that talking helped when in mourning.

Julius just sat silent for a moment, A sniffle as he wiped the tear from his eye '...my brother' he pointed at the boy to his right, he stood up and looked down at the two 'his fiancée' he said pointing at the girl to his left.

He picked up the hatchets and slid them into his sheaths. He closed his eyes again as he pictured them in his mind, both of them smiling before the god forsaken apocalypse... 2 days before their wedding. 'My name's Erh, Julius. Jule for short...' He said looking at both Nick and Atlas '...and sure I, I don't have anything left here' he said liking down at the two bodies laying at his feet. The pain too much for him to bare. He stepped over his brother's dead corpse and walked past Atlas walking over to the counter to pick up a backpack. He flung it over his shoulder but kept his gaze ahead of him, not sparing a glance at the others... He didn't want sympathy... He lost enough people and the pain he felt now was all too familiar but now... It's just etched away more of his sanity.

'So where are we headed?'

"Like I said Kansas," Atlas looked at Nick and pulled up his sleeve showing the two his Savage bite, "this is a weak old." He then pulled his right pant leg up, "and this one is a few months old." He thought of telling them about his being Death Storm but it didn't matter right now, that was an alter ego to him someone to protect a girl who was alive a lifetime ago. He was just Atlas now, just Atlas Storm alone in a world full of Savages, Rot Dolls, and unhappy endings.

"I have the anti-venom in my blood and this one guy we were traveling with told us about this community of Scientists south of St. Louis in Kansas City." He looked at Jule, "but that guy died like two days ago, about." He saw Abe's riot shield and thought how cool a weapon that was, he was kinda like a gladiator, and Jule's weapons reminded him of... Nameless, in the back of Atlas's mind he wondered if Nameless could possibly be following them. That would be bad if it was the case, "were the cure to this madness, trying to get it to some people who know how to use it to save the world."

Abe jumped on top of one of the shelves and sat down. "Anti-venom, you say. Interesting." he said, looking deep in thought. "So you won't turn when you're bit? That must be amazing." Abe looked at Atlas in awe. "Though, it'll probably help if you have a weapon..."

Jule didn't argue, In fact he was already at the door 'after you then' he said to the other guys, wanting to leave this place behind... Being here only chipped away at his sanity, he felt like he was going to crack

Abe got down off the shelf he was sitting on and walked out the door.

"Yeah, we better get going, who knows how long it'll take us to get out of the town using this passage." Nick said as he made his way to the door as well. "Though, we may want to look into getting like a tent or something, some sort of shelter for the night, after all if we don't manage to find a working car there's no way we can make it to another good resting spot by night fall, we'll be sitting ducks out there in the wastelands... especially since its migration season." He knew it the moment he saw the large tribe of Savage that were chasing Jai when they first met, Savage tribes don't move all at once like that, at least not for just one person, they were already on the move when Jai ran into them. With winter over and done with and spring well on its way, the Savage tribes are moving up north to escape the impending heat, and so there would be whole tribes moving together in the Wastelands at night, it would be suicide to go out there on foot. He looked back at the two bodies that lay on the ground, if it weren't for the pale skin and blackened saliva that stained their mouths and clothes he would've thought they were normal humans.

"It's so strange, to think that not to long ago they were human... they act just like animals..." he said out loud. He realized what he just said and awkwardly cleared his throat "Uh, so, any ideas on where we could get a working car?"

Atlas walked ahead into the building through the tunnel. It was connected to a car garage, "why not just hop in one?" He threw a few punches to the savages inside and assessed the cars, starting up his chainsaw as soon as he saw more he took his time cutting each undead creature down. The others just stood and watched as he sort of danced around the garage. "Check out the cars while I cover y'all." Atlas smiled, enjoying being able to show off his skill to the new bloods in the group.

He jumped to the roof of a car and then flipped off bringing his buzzing saw weapon through a Savages skull. "Yahoo!" He yelled enjoying himself a little bit too much. More were drawn to the lower level where they were but not many and Atlas continued to keep the two or three at bay before more arrived. "hurry up guys, at this rate I'll run out of gas!"

Abe walked to the opposite end of the garage from the others. He checked a few vehicles until he rounded a corner and saw the perfect one. A Hummer. "Hey guys? Just get the fuel from all those cars and bring it here." he said, climbing on top of the Hummer.

"Gotcha." Nick replied as he grabbed a gas jug and began siphoning whatever gas he could out of the other cars. "Guys, cover me while I get this done." he instructed, and so it was done. He bounced around from car to car until he got a good amount and made his way over to the Hummer.

"Alright, this is all I could muster, it'll have to do." he said as he poured the gas into the tank. "Alright, ready to go."

Julius was on it, Making sure Nick and Abe were not harmed whilst they siphoned. Jule was light on his feet, throwing one axe at a Savage whilst using the other in his hand, he'd go and retrieve his previously thrown hatchet.

Though Atlas was able to distract most savages with the chainsaw, a good few broke off from the horde and slowly made their ways to Nick and Abe. Jule criss crossed through the Savages and drove his hatchets into their heads making them drop like flies one by one but 3 savages were able to slip him and 2 of them approached Nick, almost very close to him whilst the other was within grabbing distance of Abe.

Jule turned and sprinted for Nick's attackers throwing both his hatchets at them getting them both in the backs of their head then dived over a beam turning his torso a little in mid air to get a perfect aim at the Savage attacking Abe before grabbing a throwing knife from his knife belt and throwing it into the side ff the savage's head in one swift motion.

*pant* Jule was panting loud, as the last of the savages dropped, he lay besides Nick when he landed from the dive *Pant* 'You wouldn't mind grabbin' my hatchets would ya?" he said to Nick Looking up at him as he lay there then turned to look at Abe 'and grab that knife I threw Abe'
