"What the hell is that?" Nameless asked looking out at the horizon. No planes had flown in close to a decade, he had to be seeing things. But sure enough a scout group rushed in and confirmed the story, "prepare to attack! If they decide to land we are going to skin the sky bastards alive!"
His mad laugh matched that of the samurai's, "take everything!!!" The group left the air traffic tower, "keep the children up there so that they can be safe!" One of the mothers called and a Yellow Jacket escorted the children up the stairs to the very top.
"Will we be safe?" One of the little ones asked. "Of course you will," a father Yellow Jacket responded. But as the father looked outside at the plane getting closer his mind had gone to where everyone's had.
Could this plane be full of U.S. Marines, they could be saved if it was the case. Or after how many they had killed maybe these were Army guys here to take them out. But there was no way it was Death Storm. But on ground level Nameless grips the black katana tightly.

Jule was ready, as the plane turned to the ground Jule seemed to fly up through the seat isle, some of the chompers tried to get a hold of him but too late for then as he reached the door and pulled on the latch.
Now was the tricky part, the latch was stuck and all the savages noticed him as he fell to the ground when the plane turned right side up. He had both the savages coming at him from both sides. "I'm already regretting this!" He yelled, quickly wrapping a seat belt around his arm then drop kicking the door off.
Jule would've been sucked out if it weren't for the belt he was holding, the suction of the wind outside was pretty strong but the were losing altitude so all Julius could do was hand on for dear life.
As they got closer to their destination and dropped in altitude, Jule was able to plant his feet back onto the ground. He looked up at Nick and Atlas with a grin "yea!" He threw his fist in the air. His celebration was short however, they may have dealt with the savage problem but in the process, created a whole new one that needed more than brute force.

"..." Nick panted as he was right side up once again, his heart nearly popped out of his chest at the sudden and dangerous maneuver, he had never even really flown in a plane before, let alone one that performed a barrel roll, in his opinion it was even more terrifying than the Savage themselves.
"Holy shit dude... do me a favor and never do that again." He said once he finally caught his breath. He saw as one single Nestling was trying to recover from the ordeal as well and he put it out its misery with a stomp to the head. "That seems to be the last of them, but we're not out of the dog house yet." He peered out the window at the sight of the wing catching fire, sparks flying and the smoke increasing by the second. "Atlas, we may want to start our descent, I don't think that wing is going to hold out much longer." He advised. Atlas seemed a little out of it, but that was understandable, they were all on edge, but Nick couldn't shake the feeling that the end was approaching, and what they did from here on out would determine what kind of ending it would turn out to be.

A low toned creaking alerted Atlas to the wing problem before Nick said it, but the fact that it was on fire wasn't necessarily a good thing. The screeching turned to a tearing and before they knew it the wind had begun to unhinge itself from the body of the plane. Also the whole looking back at the undead swarm coming at them, wasn't a good way to fly the plane. The right wing that wasn't on fire smashed into an air traffic control tower which was looming over some abandoned looking airport.
"Damn, sorry!!!" Atlas yelled trying to take control, but it was too late. The blazing wing soon separated and the airplane crashed into a giant dome shaped building. It was an old football stadium that was most likely turned into a refugee hospital. A few dozen rows of sports bleachers slowed the plane before a large explosion left them buried in rubble in the middle of the dome. Atlas looked up after a couple minutes. His eyes scanned the area around the old Chiefs football stadium.
Pulling himself out he noticed one by one archers in yellow jackets entered the stadium all around them. He raised his hands slowly, gashes and thick bruises all over his body indicated he was in an immense amount of pain but it wasn't the time for a pity party, "you guys alive?" He asked half not expecting not to hear anything, "we have company..."

As the plane descended Jule still had his arm tied in one of the seat belts to keep himself from grtting sucked out and keeping himself somewhat balanced. Jule spotted the wing with wide eyes, this was not good 'oh... Shit...' He muttered before the wing completely split from the plane, it was unbalance and the wind added to the speed.
That wasn't the worst of it however, when the wing seperated, some of the nuts and bolts that kept the metal steel plates that made up the plane loosened and broke because of the force. One by one the steel plates peeled away from the plane's frame work as the plane spiralled down towards the dome. Julius spotted a metal plate in front of him come loose, he quickly turned and grabbed the seat belt opposite him with his left hand, spinning his arm to tie it around belt but he was too late in pulling his right arm free. The seats he tied his right arm broke off and ripped his arm clean off while dislocating his left shoulder.
In the back of his head, Jule kinda assumed this cause would be the end of him. Now as everything went in slow-motion, Julius screamed in pain, shards of glass cut him up, bolts and screws hit him at unbelievable speed and from all the mayhem... He saw the dome appear from the corner of his eye 'oh shiiiii-' *crash* the engine burst into flames as the rest of the plane followed, it slid across the stadium floor paving a groove in the artificial grass. The plane came to a stop in the before hitting the seats.
*cough* 'agh..' Julius was stuck underneath a some luggage and a seat, he grabbed his right shoulder on the wound where his arm should. He looked at his shoulder in agony, tears streaming from his eyes. ' he-help...*cough* Jule's throat was burning from all the smoke, he saw shadows of footsteps from the small gap in all the rubble
'Over here, we have one that's... Damn... His arms ripped off, his bone's sticking out and bleeding all over the place' a yellow jacket called out to his buddies as he slowly pulled all the luggage off him then they grouped together to push the seat.

The Air traffic control tower, three people had been inside. Two of them were children. Their parents looked through the rubble but only found bits and pieces of their families lay ascu with broken plane parts and destroyed tower.
Nameless looked around and found the samurai sword, sheath broken but the sword itself was ok, "riders! Go after the plane!" About five of the eight yellow jackets jumped onto the horses they had and galloped toward the Chiefs stadium.
James couldn't find the axes he had been using this whole time, but that was ok. If this was Death Storm's plane he would kill the samurai with his own sword.
The first responding yellow jackets jumped of their horse's and got into the dome relatively quickly, one of them found Julius while the other four surrounded the plane pointing bows at it. One of the archers picked up a broken crossbow, "it is them."

Darkness... that was all Nick could register as laid in the rubble, there was nothing around him, he felt nothing, thought nothing, he just laid there, drifting in a... peaceful slumber. But it would not last, slowly his senses came back to him, felt the pain of the crash and the pressure of the rubble around him, he heard the cracking of fire and the doors crash open by entering hostiles. He could smell the smoking remains of the plane, and felt the heat of the fire that produced them, his eyes pealed open, the world around him was still out of focus, only the bright light of the flames dancing a mere foot or two away from him could be seen, even as his vision cleared only the flames came into focus... as well as a familiar face. Standing at the epicenter of the fire was Jaiden Smith, or at least a pale, almost transparent representation of him, he had a blank look on his face, and pale dead eyes locked onto the foolish boy before him.
"...am I...?" He began, and the apparition before him shook his head in response, as if he knew what he was going to say. Nick let his gaze fall to the ground, he couldn't bare to look at the disappointed face of his dead friend. "I'm sorry Jai... I couldn't get the letter to Delilah... she... they...." Tears began spilling from Nick's eyes and his hands clenched into fists, he was angry, he was sad, he was ashamed, he just didn't know what to do anymore, this whole excursion had been just one failure after another... was there even any point in going on? However, he saw the phantom feet of Jaiden approach him, stopping right before him. He looked up and saw as Jaiden kneeled down and offered him his hand, a friendly smile on his face. Nick's eyes widened in shock, he remained silent, but his gaze demanded an explanation, and so he was given one. Jaiden moved his lips to answer him, no words came out, but somehow, Nick knew exactly what he was saying.
Never give up hope
Nick was shaking, the emotions he had moments ago were still churning in his heart, but somehow he was able to stomach them, push them aside for the moment and reach for the ghostly hand. He attempted to grab it and for a moment it felt like it was actually there, but once they made contact, Jaiden faded away and the world flashed back into place. Nick let his hand hover in place, taking a moment to process what exactly had just occurred. He heard Atlas call him and snapped back to reality, he looked around and saw the Yellow Jackets surrounding them. He was sore all over but somehow found the strength to stand up. He raised his hands in surrender and looked over to see a "disarmed" Julius being helped up by some of the bandits. Finally, he saw that one of them held his precious crossbow, now a splintered broken piece of firewood, in his hand. 'How... how am I supposed to have hope in a time like this?'

Atlas watched as the archer picked up Jules. Tossing him over to the opening between the two fractions of the plane that had splintered off. The hostels seemed to knot ice who he was and who Nick was too. He thought for a moment that they would let them live so they could be brought back to that psychopath from before. But the stadiums doors opened and four figures walked in one of these on horse back. "Nameless..." Atlas said at last he was eying the sword that the crazy man was holding and found that it was his. Five of these yellow jackets had bows, one had a baseball bat, one had a metal cross bow, one had a sludge hammer, and then Nameless had his sword.
"We are unarmed, please just leave us alone," Atlas's voice was more of a whimper. The plane crash had taken a lot out of him. But still he rose and stumbled out of the cock pit standing near Nick facing the bandit lord. "Isn't there enough death in this rotting world without us killing each other?"

Nameless watched as the boy was tossed onto the ground. He hoped down from his horse, "leave you alone?" He began to laugh wildly. "You killed almost a dozen of my men at the fire house! Then you crash your plane into my tower, killing three more!"
A woman behind him was crying, "two of them were children!" A man put his arm around the woman, both sides had lost lives here not just the Samurai.
Nameless pushed the katana into the armless boys bleeding shoulder, then twisted it. "You die here Death Storm, no running... Just revenge." James twisted the blade again and pulled it out plunging it into the boys chest.
Bleeding out from his arm and slowly becoming colder and colder it was actually rather merciful that Nameless did this. Everyone would be dead before mid day. And the sun was already starting to rise, "attack!" And the archers began to fire at the last two survivors!

Julius cried in pain as the dropped him, his vision was blurred and he found himself drifting away Each minute that wasted away. Jules slowly reached for a dagger that he had sheathed on his leg, screaming as the katana dug into his massive wound, he cried even more as James twisted the katana. As soon as James turned around, Julius pulled out out then sliced James' Achilles' Tendon 'my... Brother would want- ya-you to have this' he said with a weak smile looking up at the off balance James who spun on his heel. Now James had no way to run and he'd need that ability to fight Atlas.
The Katana's blade missed Julius' chest, instead it found it's way to Julius' neck, slitting his throat as James fell to the ground using Atlas' blade.
Julius turned to face the sky, he was unable to do anything to ease his final suffering, blood streamed from his neck as a final breath drifted from his lips. Another man laid to waste in this petty war.

(Such an honorable death, Julius. Kudos. *claps*)
James had the strength to catch the blade before it cut into his throat, "you think a one armed child can over power me?" He gasped on his knee unable to stand. The blade was pulled out and stabbed into the child's forehead.
Death, nothing but death all around. Had the archers hit the boys hiding inside the plane? "Get them you bastards!" Nameless yelled putting pressure on his bleeding neck. A few more inches and he would have been dead.
He stood using the katana as a crutch at walked away from the boy, "bring me the samurai's head," he said, hiding the pain in his voice. No last resort of a dying dork could end his brutal rampage! Nothing could, not even... A silence fell among the group as he found the stairs.
Moaning from beyond the gates, "god damn..." He began to limp faster.

Atlas looked up at the scene before him, how dare James kill Jules! But it was an honorable thing he had done. A look of pure shock when James found a way to his feet, "how the hell?" The arrows stopped and Atlas heard a Yellow Jacket ask if he was ok. But there was no answer. Not a breathe moved in or out of a single pair of lungs as a crowd of savage poured in from ever entrance of the stadium! The archers turned and ran, "Nick! GOOOOO!!!!!" Atlas yelled trying to making it to one of the two stair wells. He was after Nameless!
A savage leapt across the field and took out a yellow jacket and then another. Had Nick gone the other way? Or fallen behind?? This had to be over a thousand savage, maybe two or three thousand! "How was this possible!!!!!! Atlas jumped catching the stair well and climbing up following a trail of blood and the man a few steps ahead of him limping as fast as he could. "Nameless, you cowardly, murderous, blood sucking..." A powerful fist nailed the back of the mans head pushing him up three more steps. Atlas grabbed his katana that the man had dropped and pointed it at his face.
"YOU KILLED MY SISTER!!! YOU KILLED MY FRIENDS!!!! YOU DESTROYED OUR CHANCE TO SAVE HUMANITY!!!!!" Atlas was so pissed off but he heard Nick's voice somewhere behind him and turned his head slightly. But heard the man crawling upward and away, after what Jule's did he wouldn't get far... Where was Nick Kell???

Nick ducked behind one of the still standing scraps of the crashed plane, sheltering him from the rain of arrows. He cowered as the he bolts endlessly bounced off of the side of the plane, he would undoubtably be dead if he had not taken cover, and soon they would just come around the rusted wall and shoot him dead before he even had the chance to look up at his killer. He covered his ears, both trying to clear his mind to think and in absolute terror. This was it, game over, Julius was dead, Nick and Atlas were defenseless, the Yellow Jackets had them cornered like rats, and he could hear the snarling of the invading Savage, whatever hope Nick held onto up until then, died right then and there. Unfortunately, he was not even given time to wallow in his despair, as he heard a soft snarling coming from right beside him. Nick froze and then turned ever so slowly, it was a Savage, one of the one's from the plane, battered and broken from the fall, its legs nowhere to be seen, but it was still clinging to life like the undead creature it was. They stared at each other for a moment before it lunged out at Nick, its dripping jaws unhinged and propelling right towards him. Almost by instinct Nick brought up his left arm to block, only for the Savage's teeth to chomp down on his flesh like a vice.
"AHHHHHHHHH!" Nick exclaimed in pain, he tried in vain to pull his arm away from the vice like jaw, which only made it bite even harder. He began to panic but he then spotted a sharp, pointed piece of metal an arms length away, he reached out, grabbed the rusted piece and stabbed he Savage in the back of the head, instantly killing it, releasing his arm. Nick kicked the body away, cradling his injured arm, but he was surprised to see that he didn't really feel much pain. He looked at the wound and saw black ooze dripping from it, crawling up his veins, replacing his blood with the Savage venom. "No..." Was all he could say as he stared at the bite mark. Memories of Jai's wound flashed in his mind, and he knew there was only a matter of time before... there where only two choices. He looked at the "bloodied" metal spike gripped in his hand and held it before him with both hands, tip facing down towards his gut. 'Sorry Atlas, it's over...' he mentally apologized as he was about to plunge the makeshift dagger into his gut, ending his life. His life flashed before his eyes, everything he could remember played in his head, but one specific memory caught his attention, the one where Jaiden gave him the letter before he left this world.
Nick reached into his pocket and pulled out the worn out note, it was still in tact after everything that happened, it was the last thing that was still in one piece. He remembered the promise he made back then a promise he was utterly unable to keep, the fates had just conspired against them. He remembered the bittersweet smile plastered on his face as they left him to take his own life, it baffled him that he could smile at a time of utter despair. He examined the letter, seal that kept it shut and the writing on the back, and it was then that it clicked, this note was why he could smile back then, he was able to die with no regrets because of this letter, or more accurately, because he gave it to him. Because of his promise, no, even if he hadn't promised, he believed that they would find Delilah and give this letter to her, that she was still alive and waiting for him, he believed that even though he would never see her again, his feelings would be conveyed to the woman he loved... this was what it meant to never give up hope. "...sorry Delilah, but I need to borrow this." he said as he undid the seal and took out the letter itself. He read through it, taking in every word, every sentence, every paragraph, his dark and hopeless eyes filling with determination the further he read. These were the words that Jaiden had entrusted Nick to deliver to Delilah... and so he would, one way or another.
He looked up from the letter as Atlas called to him, the Savage had finally broken through the entrances and were flooding into the stadium. He watched as Atlas made a break for the stairs, chasing after Nameless. The Yellow Jackets were trying their best to hold off the Savage, but it was futile, and in the mayhem two slipped past the wreckage of the plane and darted towards his last remaining companion. Nick brought himself to his feet, glaring at the scene, his hands curling into fists with determination, crumpling the letter. "HEY!" He yelled to the Savage, gaining their attention. He dashed forward, as fast as his legs could carry him, once he was in range, he pulled his left arm back and landed a punch to the first Savage's face. His arm felt as light as a feather, yet was sturdier than ever, he could feel the Savage's jaw break and heard the sweet sound of its neck snapping, it dropped dead. At the sight of this, the second Savage went in for an attack, but Nick brought up his right arm as if to block, the Savage grabbing it and taking a bite. Nick bit his lip to fight through the pain and grabbed the Savage by the head and snapped its neck, killing it and forcing it to let go. The venom spread up his right arm as well, giving it the same strength it did to his left arm, the venom already reaching his shoulder and creeping down his chest. He looked up to see that Atlas had escaped and turned to face the hoard of Savage that was finishing off the Yellow Jackets. 'I'm sorry Atlas, I almost whimped out on you there, but no more, I'm not going to abandon you just yet.' He thought as the Savage hoard began to make their way over the wreckage. He couldn't afford to let them past, an injured Nameless would be a cake walk, but a Savage hoard this large would be too much to ask for anyone. This mission may have been a failure, but so long as Atlas, the boy with the golden blood was still alive... than so was hope. He took a deep breath and let out a battle cry as he charged towards the first few Savage, the words of Jaiden's letter tethering him to his sanity.

The letter Nick read was written with care, it radiated the feelings that Jaiden enclosed within he envelope. As the crumpled up paper dropped from Nick's hand it opened up a little and caught a light from a nearby flickering flame. From the top right corner, As the flame slowly burned down the letter... It read...
My sweet and sour Delilah. I left here a few months ago in hopes to end the apocalypse. You could say... The weight of the bloody world rests on my shoulders... Or the people left in it. Do you remember the time at your mom's house? When we were both waiting for our dads to be home. You we're sat by the stair all alone, worried and your gorgeous small eyes flickered underneath the glow of sunset. I mustered up all my energy to approach you... I was young, but that didn't stop me. I approached you, and with each step I took closer to you, I heard your sweet humming. It was a lullaby, oh your beautiful hum still pushes me through this hard time. It will pass, when it does, I just want you to know I would give anything right now to be there with you...
Anyway, you saw me from the corner of your eye, weary of my presence and little shy. I stopped and looked at you and right then I froze up, I was gunna barf all the butterflies out of my stomach... Well eventually you got talking to me that night and we both waited together on that step. You were about to retire for the night, hopes crushed with tears in your eyes and I stopped you. I said "don't worry, daddies are the ones that watch you grow from afar. He won't be around all the time, but that's what makes it so special when you see him. You'll want to hug him sooooooo much more tighter than you wanted to already. Your daddy will come... And so will mine... Because their love for us is like a rope... It pulls them back even when they're lost"
If you fear for my being then my dearest, know, that I'm not alone. I have found friends that placed their trust in me to help you. I found the boy, what a fireball he is, strong and heard headed with feet like feather. Another boy, Nick, that boy is the opposite, decisive, quick thinker and a man with a plan. I could say I found myself in these boys... My brothers dare I say it...
My sweet Dearest Delilah, If you read this letter then I guess I'm not around anymore. I want to feel your lips again, I want to touch your cheek again, look into those gorgeous eyes again and tell you I love you one last time...
My sweet dearest Delilah, your love is like rope to me, worst metaphore ever I know, but it will always keep me around you, guide me wherever you are even in this ethereal form of mine... I will always... ALWAYS... Watch over you like the heavens watch over the stars... I will always, love you...

(Damn. That letter... that went deep. Just... damn...)
One by one each of the yellow Jackets were tackled and consumed whole by the hungry flesh eating beasts. This was the apocalypse, it was a wonder the samurai even made it to the stands but would his pal with no cross bow share the same fate as James's companions?
Nameless struggled upward, pain from his foot and the back of his head swelled into one, he reached the top of the stairs and vomited over the side from pure uneasiness and pain. "Oh my god..."
It had to be thousands of Savage surrounding the city. The ones that couldn't pour into the entrances of the ground level were climbing on top of each other to try and get over the stadiums edge towards them.
He didn't want to turn around, should he jump and just end it? He pulled a small knife from his waist, this was not over.

"Nick..." Atlas looked around at all the dead yellow jackets and wondered why he alone had made it to the stands, but now he knew. "For my brothers..." He turned, racing up the stairs he saw the knife in Nameless's hand but didn't care! When the man lunged at him. With the dagger, the katana met the mans forearm slicing it clean off. Atlas caught the severed hand that was still gripping the knife and stabbed it into Nameless James gut... "This won't kill you, or I hope it doesn't," he looked around making sure no Savage were up the stands yet before continuing.
"We had the chance to save the world, we were humanities last chance at not only a cure but a fighting chance!" Tears rushed down Atlas's angry face, "and your petty lust for revenge ruined the only chance that this rotting world had to be restored! You killed my sister, Delilah, and now you and Nick are the only other two people alive and one is turning savage while the other is inherently evil!" He flicked his sword and most the blood dripped to the ground. "As the last shrewd of humanity in this lonely world I elect myself judge! What do you have to say for your crimes!!!!"
Savage had broken up to the bleachers and began trying to go up to where Atlas and James were, they had about a minute at most, "WHY DID YOU DO IT???"

The dome's roof was completely destroyed, rain started to pour in. The grey sky reflected the misery and chaos as body parts lay scattered across the pitch floor.
The rain poured faster like an open tap, blood seemed to seap into the pitch's artificial grass colouring patches of green with blood red. A few minutes as the rain pored lightning cracked through the grey clouds, thunder followed blanketing the cries and moans of the thousands of savages that squandered aimlessly on the pitch floor. Some followed Atlas and Nameless.
Jule's lifeless eyes stared into the sky, his skin turned a grey with patches of red as his skin slightly peeled. The irises in his eyes blanked out into a lifeless grey and the whites of his eyes blackened as they sunk into his skull a little. A group of savage gathered around him, kneeling down towards him as they dug their black nails into his dead body, they ripped his flesh and began to feast on his carcass... No matter who you were in this world... death is the only escape...

"Just because..." There had been absolutely no reason, none. James had told the people that before this he was a fire fighter, but in actuality he had been a serial killer. Murder had been his game, his fun, so entering this rot world had been the most freeing experience in the world.
"What?" He smiled trying to hold back the pain, he had pretty much accepted that he was about to die, "not the answer you expected?"
The sounds of Savage pushing up the isles made the hair on the back of his neck stand up, but he ignored it. "You thought that this would be some sort of revolutionary moment where you can forgive your worst nightmare before killing him? Well I simply won't give you that satisfaction because I simply kill because it is fun."
Rain soaked his hair, Savage mere steps away! "So why did I kill your sister? Your friends?? And your hope???" Rain drops echoed off the metal seats, "because I felt like it..."
