Someone tried claiming that fruit shouldn't be spicy.

Peppers are a fruit.

While I agree that they are a fruit, I agree that they shouldn't be spicy

They are, but they should not be

If they weren't, lovers of spicy stuff would be sad.

Besides, they're spicy because they didn't want us to eat them. Just birds.

(Not me personally, I'm super sensitive to capsaicin to the point of maybe it's an allergy? I once made hot sauce for my husband with some random spicy peppers that we were given and every time I opened the silverware drawer above the cupboard that I was keeping the ferment in, I could barely breathe)

Have you talked with a doctor about anything you might be able to do to handle it better?

I'm pretty sure the advice would be 'just don't eat them', and that's already what I do for the most part

Had ghost pepper and habanero dip last weekend.

That's definitely the obvious answer, but doesn't mean there's nothing else that might help.
