Alright alright, so I just came back from seeing Captain America 2. I won't give any spoilers, but I will say that I thought it was AMAZING. That said, I'm not a hard critic, so I love almost everything anyways.

And it got me thinking. With all the Marvel movies that have been out, I really want to start getting into the comics. It won't be easy and it'll take long but, I really want to start.

Then it got me thinking more, and I'm contemplating making a Superhero OC. I was wondering if anyone else out there would like to join one too.

I haven't put much thought into it yet, but uh,mif anyone's interested and maybe would like to collab (multiple people) we could brainstorm ideas and stuff. Or if you'd like to just do a 1x1 welp, cool we can come up with something, haha.

While I may not be the best of help in the creating a superhero department, there is a nice (ironically) group named 'villains R us'. For if you wanted someone for the hero to interact with. Theres a fair few villains there already.

As for powers and names and stuff, the world really is your oyster. There's always Marvel/DC for inspiration, not to mention the 'smaller' publishers like Dark Horse and Boom! which have came up with a few really unique heros/villains of their own. Failing that there's videogames, they have a fair few superpower themed romps (eg: InFamous series)

And as a slight side note: As one of the 'harder critics' Cap 2 is incredibly good. Made up for the slight dissapointment the Spider-Man reboot is so far

Thank you! Ooh, I checked out the group. It looks really awesome and organized, but, do they allow heroes? :x I wouldn't mind changing my OC's position to villain for it I suppose. Have them switch over and whatnot, eheheh.

And mmmh, I'll probably pick an aspect of myself and base it around the character. Now if that aspect is a positive or negative one, I'm not sure...since it's a hero, I'd like it to be a positive influence on my life. So I could make it who I strive to be or something.

Fr some reason I've always considered myself good at balance - characters never too powerful with realistic flaws and faults, I dunno.

Eh, someone on a different website said the fight scenes were too short. I didn't notice it.

If the rest of the film is awesome and the combat's well correorgraphed I don't mind the fights being a bit short

I am a part of the group and they do welcome heros into it, the group was more made in mind about the villains being in a space where they could be noticed/rp with. (I think, I'm not the authority on this I could be very very wrong.) If you're still in doubt there is a thread about the group here: http://www.rprepository.com/community/forumthread.php?t=10472 it explains the gist of the group and you can enlist your hero with it.
If you were at all wondering my character over there is Jonathan Batley, though he's more the 'merc/henchman' type of baddie than a full on 'villainous villain with the twirly mustache and cat to stroke' (not that I think we have any of them here either... hmmmmm. )

What Mr Pleasant said is correct - the primary purpose of the group is to help villain characters get more playtime (and development, if needed), but non-villains are welcome to join at participate.

For the group, non-villains should join as the player rather than as a character (and villains, of course, should join via that character) just to help keep things separated. Exceptions are made for anonymous characters to help conceal the player's identity.

The thread runs semi-separately, and is a mix of a villain job board (which also includes requesting villains) and a spot for me to publicly announce some of the stuff that goes on the the group.

Oooh, great! Haha, thanks you two for informing me I'm excited. I think I might use my villan OC for this one though then, but what necessarily defines a "villan"? Mine is borderline but I could touch em up a knotch.

Also, my villan OC iis more of the follower type and normally doesn't stand on their own, is that alright?

Think more along the lines of "antagonist" than "villain." One of mine is just a soldier, basically, and another can really only count as an antagonist - she's rarely actually dangerous.

An no problem. It's always better to ask and make sure than assume and be wrong.
