Howdy,
My name's Pat, and I've had a tumultuous relationship with my art and writing throughout my life. Now, I want to dive back into my art and character design skills. I'm postin' this to start a thread for those who want to share their enthusiasm about their characters and gush about them, especially their designs. I’m looking to brainstorm a unique design for an OC who has been a fixation of mine for quite some time. I don't want to draw him like every other low-key self insert character, rofl :[
What is a detail about your character that you are proud of, but feels unappreciated?

Hey,
I invented and drew Lizbeth from A to Z, I do like her so much, my little doe.
The point what I feel to be the most unappreciated is her emotional soul. I have learned to write about emotions and describe them, trying to make the reader feel the same. This means I try, not knowing to be successful.
I have been treated once or twice as having a big emotional intelligence, so it seems to work, but it is also something that keeps a lot people at distance.
Writing this I feel my cheeks warm and am sure that I blush quite heavily.

I really like that you bring emotions and a more tender soul-ed character up. A lot of writers can feel pressured to write a character that has more of a crass/traumatized character rather than diving into a softer side of them.

This is so true, really and for sure, it’s absolutely not easy.
Gurls and Guys, I’m not condescending, far away from that, I respect all of you !
So give Patroclus that little thing of your character where you say “Oh yes that’s him or her, that’s MINE” and where you have that little fire burn inside you.
Thank you so much 😊
Jooters (in his og setting and my book) is a representation of me as a child, learning about the world and after being sheltered and distant from any other people or places for many years while having autism, and is as such rather important to me in that iteration (I use Jooters for many purposes besides that, that is just his main one)
His entire story is meant to be a metaphor for my life and my maturing, losing my innocence but becoming the person who I am today.

Ironically, my main oc who I'm working on right now serves the same kind role for me ! I'm so glad that you can express all that through Jooters :}
