I posted this meet cute a couple years ago and no one took me up on it, so I'm going to try again!
Your character (a Pokemon trainer) is on the prowl hunting for new additions to their team. Maybe they're trying to fill out their Pokedex, or they're having a hard time with the next gym leader and hope changing things up might help. As they explore the deep forest, they come across a clearing where they see a Heracross snoozing on a flat rock in the sun. It's a large specimen, and looks very strong already. What luck to find it already asleep! You reach into your bag for a Pokeball, toss it, when suddenly ...

Looking to do a short, platonic meet-cute with my trainer, Magnus!
Your character should be some kind of Pokemon trainer, breeder, or collector who would fit into the canon. Ideally they shouldn't have any legendary Pokemon on their team--I know you can catch them in the games, but in the world it doesn't feel right! Psychics and clairvoyants are okay since they exist in the Pokemon world, but please no anthros, mythical creatures, wizards, etc.
I'm happy to tweak the prompt if you have other ideas, or we can pick up right from here! We can also switch the roles, with Magnus accidentally trying to catch one of your Pokemon.
