How about something related to the Starks in GoT. Thing is I dont know any mages there.
Another clue is that the first clue is an anagram of something else. 
I thought Behind a sword....but didnt work :'(
There might be something to do with the word "pronunciation", it was italicized in the clue.

I wonder if the fact that it says banished word (in singular) means the anagram will also be just one full word or if it might be a phrase. Opinions?

The one thing I can't figure out is the importance of the second clue "Mage taught you words and healing" My brain keeps going back to elder scrolls for some reason, but then the third clue doesn't seem to work in at all.

I keep thinking of Skyrim and Elder Scrolls too, but I don't know enough about that world to think of anything relating.
It might have something to do with a careless mage that ended up speaking a forbidden spell that reeked havoc.

As a TES buff myself, thats what I was leaning towards but... I really can't think of anything. As far as I know in the history there hasn't been a word that was banished, only a conjuration spell, "Banish."
