hi there! i'm lights, but you can call me lights. 👋

so, funny story. i actually made this account like, two-ish years ago now? i just wanted to make some headway on my characters first, before i got started... and then i ended up getting way too busy to actually finish my character sheets. but, since i've had a bit of time, i've FINALLY managed to get the starts of some characters down, and i'm just gonna have to call it good enough for now. we'll call it being fashionably late, baby!

i've been writing in some capacity for about a decade, and while i still have much to learn, i've made some great strides since i started! in fact, i've finally put my boots to the ground to start working on an original world of my own, and so far it's been amazing!

a little about me:

• i'm 22 years old, and i work at a small diner where i live. it's hectic, but it's home!
• i'm a trans woman living in the USA right now though soooo. fear
• i'm an absolute sucker for writing au stories. while i have my own world, you best believe i've come up with ideas for putting my characters into every other canon in the world lmao
• i play a lot of retro games in my spare time! there's something about the old style of pixelated games that really just speaks to me, it's so fun!

limits and notes:

• my work schedule is an absolute terror, i swap between working days and nights like christmas lights swap colors, so please keep in mind that my reply speed is EXTREMELY variable. i promise i'm not ghosting you though, i'll let you know if i'm not interested or w/e!
• if you wanna do something or if there's something you aren't liking in a story, please communicate with me! we're both here for the same thing, i wanna make sure we're both having fun.
• i am a yapper. i will yap and i probably cannot be stopped. please excuse me rambling.

what am i here for?

• all sorts! if you've got a compelling, layered character, chances are i wanna hear all about it.
• i'm not picky with genres! generally i don't work well in historical high fantasy types (think lotr), but anything else i can really shine with.
• most of all, i'm looking to just hang out with likeminded people and enjoy writing! :> it's always been my favorite pastime.

and ooh, that's a good one. i'd say my current top 5 are sonic 3 and knuckles (genesis, best platformer ever made!), warioware inc (gba), super metroid (snes), mario no super picross (snes), and mike tyson's punch out (nes)!

as for the diner, it's... very stressful, tbh. especially since we make a lot of our food in plain view of the guests, so there's extra pressure there. still, it's taught me a lot, and the pay's good, so i can't complain too much.
