I have been role playing for quite some time but I guess I am starting to get to a point where I am kind of rusty. I am mostly just looking for any quick tips for keeping a storyline going and making sure I am continuing to be an adequate role play partner! I do have maybe 3-4 role plays that I feel are going well still (partners, if you see this and want to pass along constructive criticism then please do!) but due to a lot of more recent role plays fizzling out nearly as soon as they start… I’m starting to wonder if it’s just time to throw in the towel all together!

I think I’ll throw in a recent experience.

I have started an RP with an almost professional role-player, that one player that is totally complete, I mean it. I don’t divulge any name.
But it’s like :
- in contrary to what is said, use first, second, third person, intelligently used it powers your RP into something breathtaking, your character starts to think, a metaphysical approach
- you can boost an RP with images (can be AI generated), or even music, creating an atmosphere beyond written description
- cliffhanger within a post, creating the desire to read on, so it generates a motivation to write for your partners
- feedback on long posts, but I mean constructive criticism, so your partner can answer having those ideas in mind and he evolves too
