Tri-ace is rapidly replacing Square-Enix as my favorite RPG publisher, even if RoF had the misfortune of being published by Sega. The system seems complicated at first but is a blast when you get into it. The story can feel staggered funny if you take up every side mission, but if you coast for a while it's a beautiful personal story that you don't see in RPGs very often. I'm up to chapter 15 and finally hit a level set that made me have to slow down, I hear there's like 17 or 18. But I have to bring it back today, and I'm not happy. >(
Personally I love the clothing, even if it's a complete waste of money. They show up all high quality like in videos. I LOVE it. Yeah, it doesn't add to your stats, but when you aim for clothes that make good stats you end up with wonky looking wardrobes anyway, in any game that gives that.
It's overall charming. I was wondering who else has played it, and who finds interest in the story telling style. It's very different in terms of its... narration, I guess you'd say? Nobody NARRATES, but the manner it all lays out in is very different from most RPGs.";

I am getting this game today actually, and i will give further input when i play it
This game is awesome!!!! Its got a little learning curve in the combat at first but the tutorial in the arena helps out alot. I love how when its night time, it actually shows its nigh time where ever you go! i wish i had picked this up earlier then now.
It's ADDICTIVE, isn't it? I could play the system all day and forget about the story, even. Just fight! I SWEAR.
And the story isn't bad either, just more intimate to a set of characters than people have been used to modernly where everything has to be 24-7 epic. The fighting itself makes up for the epic.
There were two days I played it all night and woke up on the couch at 8 AM with the controller in my hand and the arena staring back at me.

I agree!!! im saving up right now for a second handgun to have the girl (forget how to spell her name at the moment) duel wield em
My Zephyr dual weilds two scratch weapons at level 30-something and has a 120 charge rate on one and 105 on the other with 15 & 18% charge bonus shot rates. In short, he's a FIEND when it comes to jumping over something, loading them full of scratch damage, shifting to the next target, repeat, shift to next, repeat all before he lands. Then all I need is my dual-weilding handgun Vashyron to come in and go prada-prada-pap-pap at each of them and everything falls down.
Except the Mad Golems. Ugh. When you run into the red-square encounter for a trio of those level 73, if you don't have just the right weapon-set prepared and aren't at least level 40, just reset the game. You're better off. I literally danced when I beat the dang things and got my Bezel Shard.
