Kerrigan was continuing her campaign to bring down the tyrant Mengsk. Her new zerg swarm has grown immense and with new strains like the swarm host she prepares to invade one of the dominions largest military training worlds. This world has millions of troops being trained and even ghosts. Bringing her leviathan to orbit around the medium sized blue planet she ordered pods to drop. "Drop on the planet serbus. Send the infestors to infest those outer laying buildings". She ordered. As the drop pods landed all over the rather basic terrain. The planet was a lot of green hills but they were starting to be covered in creep. The zerg had dropped down several large hatcheries that began producing larva. Several other zerg buildings dropped from spines and spore crawlers to a fresh spawning pool. As the buildings got in and rooted the new hive already had all possible zerg buildings on it. The hundreds of zerglings, roaches, hydra's and mutalisks began to rush the outer base. This outer segment was a medium sized camp. The main base would have hundreds of thousands of men and guns ready. In this first wave most of the muta's died as the marines scurried. "We have zerg over running the base call back up now!" One yelled as a roached blasted it's acid at him melting him. But from out of the swarm came three infestors. The infestors were large and bloated creatures that moved slow but could create virophages. The infestors came into the base and dropped some sort of tumor like thing on the ground. Running back the three tumors grew and burst into the large several dozen meters high virophages. It was hard to believe that in less then two minutes it went from the size of a zergling to that size. The virophages fired the zerg mutagen virus into the buildings infecting several dozen humans both marines and workmen. But in one of the buildings was something not expected to emerge.
The attack was sudden and without warning, Durgan had been going through the armory trying to gather the gear for the next ghost training exercise when the alarm rang out of a impending attack. Without hesitation Durgan dawned his armor and was headed to the weapons locker when a sudden wave of dizziness overcame him and he paced out.
Durgan awoke with what could only be described as a feeling of uncomfortable euphoria the sounds of battle rang loudly in his ears sharper then he ever experienced before the sound of rifle being fired was equal to that of a super sonic explosion. After a moment he seem to adjust and everything calm down slowly opening his eyes his view was a almost luminescent bright color that he couldn't describe, every corner of the now powerless armory was as bright as day. A feeling of panic started to set in as Durgan tried to coop with the change he thought frantically what could have injured him. A sudden sharp pain ripped through his chest like nothing he had felt before, Durgan grab his chest with both hands but when doing so he felt something unfamiliar and startling. His right hand while normal was grasping something that felt like a flexible tube in his other. Durgan propped himself up against the wall slowly his eyes creep down towards his body, with his mind racing and adrenaline pumping Durgan could barely keep himself from shaking unsure at what he was about to see. As his feet came into view he could see a dark armor like covering over what should have been his boots, the material stretched all the way up to his waist. Durgan exam it with his right hand pressing against it the feeling was familiar but he couldn't quite remember what it was, his hand ran across the bumps and ridges that followed the outline of where his armor once was this was actually oddly calming to him. After taking a moment he began patting his chest down everything seem to be normal from his lower abdomen to his neck as well as his right arm, but as he began inching his fingers towards his left arm he felt something unfamiliar and strange at his shoulder. Looking over Durgan could no longer see what should have been his arm and hand but instead a long flexible tentacle had replaced it, he suddenly knew what the strange armor plating was... it was that of a Zerg carapace. Durgan felt a extreme feeling of dread crushing down on him, he instinctively tried to get away from the deformity pushing at it and scrambling across the floor. As he Durgan hit against the wall the feeling subsided and he noticed that the tentacle while still attached to his arm had been stretched out across the room. Calmly and slowly Durgan stood up and approached the end of the tentacle, as he did the slack began retracting itself back in the arm. Standing over the remaining length on the floor Durgan felt himself willing the tentacle up off the floor and back to him, the subconscious command worked and the new tentacle arm retracted back to him and he felt himself controlling it almost as if it was his original appendage. Bending it towards his face he noticed a opening at the end almost like something was recessed inside of it, once again willing the arm a long spike emerge out of the hole, it reminded Durgan of the sunken colony tentacles that would erupt from the ground ripping helpless victims to pieces. Satisfied with his investigation of the new arm he continued to scan his body up his neck and chin seemed to be fine and intact but as he reached his noise and the remainder of the head above it everything felt hard and deformed like the rest of the mutations, Durgan knew then that he had been completely infected by the Zerg but he was still oddly able to control himself unlike the zombies hordes of the typically infected Terran. Although he seemed to still have his free will intact something still felt odd almost like a urge to go forth like a natural instinct but he couldn't totally understand it.
Durgan wanted his rifle for whatever may lie ahead of him but he could see his rifle locked into the weapon cage and without power there was no way of accessing it. Durgan felt a intense anger over come him and without even thinking the tentacle lunged out with such force and speed it punched through the armor lining and ripped it asunder as if it was feeble plastic. Surprised by the new found strength Durgan walked over to the hole and pulled his rifle from its case with his right hand and instinctively grabbed the extra magazines with his left. The tentacle showed great dexterity as it swooped up all six mags in one move and gingerly placed them in the holsters on his chest plating. Loading his rifle Durgan sat out of the armory to discover what had become of his comrades, as he neared the door a pair of infested marines lumbered past him as if he was even there. Emerging from the armory the sun light was almost blinding for a moment and then suddenly dimmed to a comfortable level, looking around the once mighty outlying training ground were now a smoldering waste land littered with corpses of Zerg and Terran alike. Durgan could see the last remaining Terran defenders being crushed in their bunker as a Ultralisk slammed its hoof down upon the building.

Sensing this strange signal on the planet almost like a psionic. Kerrigan was interested with it enough that she looked down to the planet. "What is that? Another psionic energy? But it is linked to the swarm?" Kerrigan said this as she went into the nearest pod chamber and entered a pod. "I must find this thing." She said as the pod dropped. Braking through the atmosphere she landed just inside the outpost. The broken pieces of the pods flesh littered the area. Emerging she began to sense for this new being. Noticing it coming from nearby she approached. Seeing an infested terran she looked for a moment shocked before realizing he was a ghost. "What are you? How is it possible for you to have your own thoughts?" She asked him. Now only standing a good seven feet away she let her bony wings gently move in the breeze as the ground was littered by creep.
As Durgan stood on the ramp of the armory he sensed a great psionic force approaching fast in a Zerg drop pod. The pod dropped just short of Durgan location, as the dust and husk of the pod settled Durgan easily made out the creature that emerged as non other then the Queen of Blades. Durgan thought for a moment that he shouldn't be standing there as she approached but instead shootings at her but a overwhelming urge of control and obedience he couldn't resist instead walked himself towards her. As he came before the Queen he could feel her strong psionic powers wash over him like a warm ocean wave. While Durgan was fully conscious of what he was doing and how crazy it seemed there was just something stronger and undescribable at play that forced him to her will.
“I don't know anymore” Durgan answered her puzzlingly, “I feel strange yet at peace.. I am infested but yet am still to a limit free.” Durgan tried to put what he felt into words that hopefully she would understand and spare him rather then cut him down as a failed experiment.
In a show of obedience Durgan knelt before the Queen, “I only know I must serve you... my Queen”

Impressed by this infested ghost Kerrigan. "So you still kept your intelligents? How would you like to lead this attack? I shall grant you permission to lead the charge." She said putting her hand on his shoulder.
The zerg gathered with her in the tens of thousands. The terran troops gathered in their main compound with hundreds of marines, marauders, firebats, widow mines burrowed, tanks set up, missile turrets ready, hell bats ready and even ravens and banshees. Indeed the battle would be fierce. And at the base building their were several thors.
