I'm working at improving how I draw faces, in general and by variety. So, hey, I'm offering to do character portraits. Monies are appreciated and encouraged, and will boost you up to the top of the list (more monies = greater priority), but no payment is required.

The one thing that is required is interesting faces. I don't want to just be doing generic-looking people; there should be something that defines them as unique, be it sharp features, an aged look, a square jaw, scars, etc. Give be clear descriptions, give me photo references, give me whatever you can to make it clear what kind of face your character has. I may not take all requests, but I will try to get the most interesting faces. Also, the faces need to be human or human-ish, because I'm just not gonna try drawing animal faces right now. Sorry.



I am only offering portrait sketches at the time. The sketch may be in pencil or it may be digital, but you can expect quality along the lines of what's shown here. (Implied nudity warning.) I will not be actually coloring anything. However, once you have the image, you're free to do with it what you wish, including coloring, making alterations, etc; I only ask that you include a credit to me if you say or imply that it's your own art (such as by posting it on an art site, etc).

Please note: I tend to be slow, and it may be a few days before I start on any requests made here.

Facial specifics? Looks like most of the existing art gives her a fairly round face and a sort of child-like button nose. Is that right, and are there other specifications? Eye shape, lip shape, eyebrow shape, distance between features...?

This is the most accurate face reference for her. She has a round, somewhat boyish face with low cheekbones. A small button nose, small but feminine lips. Her eyes are almond shaped. Eyebrows naturally shapely with a gentle bowed arch. Freckles on her face. Haircut as seen in the picture. She's usually shy or dreamy as far as expressions go.

Is that enough?

Should be. Just might be a few days.

Giles here has a scar on his lip from cleft pallet surgery. He has a somewhat square jaw, large, bulbous nose and large ears.

Face shape - Generally more square than anything
Angles, curves, etc - Nothing all too odd. Her jaw has a slight outdent (as shown in her front view) and her cheeks are noticeable, but not angular.
Cheekbone type - Curved and seen, but again, not too angular or shallow. Just nice.
Eye and eyebrow size and shape - Think Mako from Avatar : Korra, just... thinner and more ladylike
Nose size and shape - She's got a big plump button nose and it's adorable
Lip size and shape - Thicker lips, though not ugly.
Ear size and shape- Nothing out of the ordinary here
Hair style - She can either have it up in a tail with the sides shaved (shown in sideview) or parted towards one side (Frontview)
Distance between features - Average distance. her eyes are a bit close together, though nothing awful or all too noticeable.
Freckles, scars, tattoos - Has a scar going down the right side of her face from her temple to her jaw.
Expression - Kayla's almost always a happy person, so most likely she'd have a happy expression, though she's known to be quite serious too, so either works
Other notable details - Other than her piercings, nothing too much.

She's black, which can be seen in her "Armor Sets" section under "Fighting and Armor" :>

Hello, I've got an old guy for you. Old men are hell to draw, and they still give me trouble, so good luck. No rush with this, take it at your leisure or not at all.



His name is Dr. Mädik; he is in his 60s, and he likes to do science, which has scarred most of his body, but luckily not too much of his face. His details are as follows:

Angles, curves, etc: Strong chin, age-withered cheeks, pronounced brows
Cheekbone type: Pronounced by age, but not overly so.
Eye and eyebrow size and shape: Eyes are a standard shape (oval) and size, and are often half-lidded or relaxed due to his personality -- Crow's feet wrinkles are also present. Eyebrows are somewhat thick and non-expressive.
Nose size and shape: Larger than most, but not hooked or beaky, rounded at the tip with a thick bridge.
Lip size and shape: Somewhat thin and unremarkable.
Ear size and shape: Standard-size and rounded with proper lobes.
Hair style: Short and combed backward, no widow's peak.
Scars: A vertical strip the entire width of his right eye and extending up into the eyebrow and down to the cheekbone, has had the skin removed violently from it in an accident. The resulting marks are a mixture of claw marking around the eye socket and roughness to the patch where the attached skin was removed.
Expression: Passive, mildly surprised, or unimpressed
Other notable details: His right eye (our left) isn't real; it's made of glass. His neck has hints of scarring, but they are usually covered by a high collar.

Ivian has a pretty well-defined set of facial features, so he might make an interesting challenge.




He has a fairly soft face, with low cheekbones and a medium-prominent chin. His nose is turned up. He has a series of small scars and freckles, including one longish scar under his left eye. he can be drawn with a stubbly beard, but no moustache. His brows are relatively thick. His eyes have a sunken, haunted look to them.

I've been drawing John since my freshman year of high school. You can find a good selection of images from the gallery on his "The Wanderer" page.

His scaring, both facial and bodily, have gone through a lot of changes throughout the years but about two years ago I clearly defined where each scar and each wound is on him. He has a octagonal shaped head, very sharp. His hair is black and unkempt, his eyes a watery pus yellow, his skin a very faded tan. His scars vary by age but most fade to a dull brick red or wine color.

Both ears are clipped, the scars around his neck implies that he was once decapitated but was able to have someone sew it (head) back on. The scar on his eye was a cosmetic mistake when he was first being made but has since become his trademark. Most other major scars are localized around the joints, I.E. Shoulders, elbows, wrists, knuckles, thigh pelvic, knees, ankles, toe knuckles. All others are found along the major muscle groups in varying patterns and shapes.

Hmm...maybe this part-time no-nonsense adventurer/ part-time supernatural investigator/advocate (beware the creatures of the night...they have lawyers!) can pose a nice challenge?
He still doesn't have any actual art, so here is a reference for one of his forms





He wears (dark) sunglasses and a (dark) italian suit, with rather high cheekbones and a pale complexion, a turned up nose, thin (dark) eyebrows and a somewhat prominent chin. He may or may not have a forked tongue The (dark - notice a patern here? ) hair is "fashionably uncombed", heh. The ears can be slightly pointed. No scars or freckles, since his shapeshifting powers rather give him that advantange. Oh, and his expression is generally one of mischeviousness, mockingness or coldness.

Hi there! I'm always interested in more doodles for Ara ;v;. I don't have moneys to spare currently (later in June, yes, but atm: no sadly u-u) buuuut! If you'd like I can compensate you with a sketch in a similar fashion of whatever character of yours you'd like? .

• Round face, very soft.
• Medium-high cheekbones but her cheeks are a little pudgy so it smooths them out.
• Eyebrows are tiny! Cut a normal eyebrow in half and that's how hers are, but it's mainly because the hair is so fine toward the middle/end. They're bushy though. White.
• Wide, round eyes. Looks almost surprised all the time except when she's wincing/smiling/etc since her cheeks are so squisheh.
• Nose is standard as far as height goes. Button nose, but like... very bulbous.
• Narrow lips, but medium in plumpness.
• Ears are pretty big, standard human shape, pokes out just a little.
• Long and curly! Bangs are separated into thirds - the middle third draping between her brows. She has two small tufts that frame her face, ending about mid-cheek, and there are long curls (loose, big curls) that hang before her ears and rest on her chest. The rest of her hair is layered, but still as curly.
• On her right eye, there's a horizontal scar on the iris. It looks like a dark brown streak with a few little dark brown specks near it. Sclera scars are very difficult to see so no use doodlin' it!
• Expression? Anything! She often smiles, whether it's genuine, sarcastic, sheepish, or guilty.
• She wears circular glasses. Think Harry Potter style.

I have plenty of refs on her site if you need any! . I do most of my own art, so if you decide to take this up and want a sketch in return, you'll get a feel for how I do stuff too. C:.
