Corvina (played by Tolora)

Corvina backed up a bit to give her some space. She doubted the girl wanted to be hovered over by some stranger she'd just met. Zander sat back on his haunches and looked at the girl with his head tilted. She saw her nose was bleeding though and quickly ran inside to grab a towel. She handed it to her as the girl gave her excuse. Corvina frowned. No you didn't. She almost said so but restrained herself. If the girl didn't want to say why she had fallen unconscious, then Corvina wouldn't press her for an answer.

"I'm Corvina." She motioned toward the fox, still sitting and staring at Talia. "And this is Zander."
Talia (played by MoonKunoichi)

"Thanks," Talia said holding the cloth to her bleeding nose. Strangely enough, Talia remember Corvina. She had observed her and her unusual pet on a morning stroll with another young male, whom she couldn't recall his name at the moment.
"So um, you live in there huh?" Talia removed the cloth from her nose once it had stop bleeding. She felt really bad for Corvina, knowing that the Man in there was probably her Dad.

I wish I could give him more time.... Talia thought sadly, her blue eyes softened at the girl. She probably didn't even know! Talia desperately wanted to tell her, to admit to explain how she had helped, but Corvina would just think she was nuts and that wouldn't help her current situation. After all, her she was laying in the front yard of her house, unconscious! Corvina probably already thought she was crazy, though she would never learn the truth...
Corvina (played by Tolora)

"No problem." Corvina sat down Indian style next to Talia. Zander crawled into her lap. "Yes this is my house." She shivered and realized that she was still in her blue cotton pajamas with little sheep jumping across it. "Do you want to go inside? I think we have some pain killers..." She had noticed that Talia looked pained. Zander padded to the door and looked silently back at Corvina. It seemed he was ready to go inside too.
Rayner stood on top of the water tower with his back against the moodlight. He stood there for a while before throwing himself forward and leaping off of the tower and into a perfect roll. He stood up quickly and continued to run, flipping over small obstructions and leaping himself forward. He enjoyed the night run and soon found himself on top of the movie theater in the downtown area. Everything was silent and still. Rayner decided that he would sit down and rest for a bit before heading home and getting some sleep.

As he sat down, he unzipped his hoodie and let the jacket open against the small breeze. He looked out at the town he live in and the distant mountains. Before he knew it, he was up again, flipping off the building, hanging off the edges, and getting himself back down on to the ground before taking off and running again.

The sun will be up in just a few hours, a new day will be upon them. A new day for another adventure.
Talia (played by MoonKunoichi)

"No!" Talia exclaimed, more loudly than intended.
"Er I mean, I need to return home. Besides it's almost morning time and I'm sure once I return home and nap, I'll be fine!" She said getting up from her seat on the ground. Talia just couldn't bring herself to go back in Corvina's house without blurting out her secret and trying to make sure that Corvina would enjoy her last moments with her Dad. It would be hard on her, that was what Talia was sure of, but it getting attached to a person or feeling pity for one was something she wasn't supposed to do.

But you are attached to Sam, Her conscious yelled at her the bitter truth, but Talia couldn't think about that right now. She needed to go home, take some Asprin and Sleep.
"I'll see you around, I'm sure!" Talia said waving goodbye as she headed back to her home. Hopefully this day would get better.....
Corvina (played by Tolora)

"Alright." She said with a yawn. Gosh, when did it get so late? Corvina waved good bye to Talia before she went inside. "Yeah, I'm sure I'll see you around. Good night." She let an impatient Zander into the house and sighed.

She rubbed her sleepy eyes. Well, as interesting as that had been, she was very tired. She walked over to where her dad lay sleeping, rubbing her shins and belatedly wishing she'd turned on the light. Her eyes softened when she stood next to him and she had to fight not to let them brim over with tears. His breathing seemed to come a little easier now. She pulled a blanket over his body and kissed his forehead. "I love you dad." She whispered before going upstairs.
Talia (played by MoonKunoichi)

Talia nearly stumbled into her door once she got to her apartment. A huge wave of drowsiness threaten to make her fall asleep right at her door but she knew that sleeping would have to wait for just a little bit more.
"Asprin..." She muttered under her breath as she opened the door and tripped over a huge yellow envelope. Glaring at it, Talia got up from the floor and kicked the thing in frustration.
"Stupid bag of-!" She paused her ranting after taking a closer look at it. This was the same envelope She had given Sam for his Dad's operation! Why had he given back to her instead of using it?! Then it clicked, The reason why she had felt sick was because Sam's father had died! This caused Talia to feel even worst, now she would really need some Asprin! Quickly heading towards the bathroom she took out two pills and swallowed them with some tap water. Sure it would take the physical pain away, but definitely not the mental strain and stress that Death brung.
When the sun has rise that morning, Rayner found himself on the couch of his apartment. His sleepy blue eyes squinted when it realized it had opened to light. He turned himself around and sat up, staring at the mostly empty and somewhat dim apartment. He looked down at his phone to see the flashing notification signal and swiped it on.

In China right now, you want some dumplings? the email said causing Rayner to smirk before typing out his response.

Yeah and maybe some of noodle too. he said and sent the email.

Reading the message somehow gave him a new burst of energy. He leaped up from the couch and stripped himself off his shirt, entering the shower.

Moments later, Rayner was out the door and took down the street - heading directly to Danielle's Coffeehouse. Their town was still quiet empty, most people still sleeping off Saturday night's drunkenness or preparing to head to church that morning. Rayner opened the door of Danielle's Coffeehouse to be greeted by the older woman.

"Morning," he said.
"Ah, hungry?" she asked.
"Of course."

A plate of eggs, bacon, and sausages was placed down in front of Rayner. Breakfast is served.
Darik Sharpe (played anonymously)

Sam lay sleeping on his bed, day or night he didn't know anymore. His eyes swelled up with tears anytime he tried to open them. He had had the money to treat his dad but waited a day to long to get the treatment. His dad took out the anti-fungal meds and upped his morphine and drifted off to a dark slumber. He wasn't on suicide watch so no one thought he might end it, but he did.

He had even written a note on his dinner napkin for Sam, a note which was done after he did the act so it was unfinished. It wasn't like Sam could read threw the whole thing without crying anyway, Dear Sam, water dropped slowly down his face. This isn't your fault, it was my exposure to crime scene blood that helped the fungus spread, and my drinking only weakened my body. A small wine came from his apartment, he felt like a baby, or a spoiled brat who didn't get the toy he wanted.

I love you kid, so I can't let you waste your money on my behalf, it would be stupid for a treatment like this with such high risks anyway, but before I go I wanted you to remember that... The "a" was ascu and the lines of the "t" didn't even intersect. It was over, I didn't even matter he didn't get to write that one last sentence, because he didn't say good bye either. Thorne dropped the napkin on his night stand and whispered two last words before passing out face down on his bed again.

"Good bye."
Corvina (played by Tolora)

Corvina blinked her eyes open in the light coming through her window and Zander licking her cheek. Her body was sore and she felt exhausted. She yawned and rubbed the crustiness from her eyes. For a moment she was peacefully unaware of everything that had happened last night. Then it all came rushing back to her. She closed her eyes for a while, until Zander nosed under her hand. She slowly got up and got changed. When she went into the kitchen she saw her dad at the stove, making breakfast. Zander walked in, even after she'd stopped in the doorway, and sat at the foot of her father, waiting for him to drop him some bacon. It was so normal it shocked her. She walked forward and wrapped her arms around her dad's waist and pressed her face into his back.

He turned around to her in surprise. "Well, good morning to you too sunshine." He was smiling and when Corvina looked up at him she couldn't help but start crying. What would she do without him? He quickly became serious and turned off the stove, moving all the bacon to a plate. "What's wrong?" She didn't want to have to say what she'd found out loud. Like not saying it would mean it wasn't true, it wasn't happening. As usual, her dad could see what was on her mind without her even saying a word. "Ah...I was hoping I could go at least another day without you finding out..." He looked tired as he passed a hand over his face. He hugged her back tightly. "I wanted you to be happy one more day."

He grabbed the plate filled with bacon and biscuits, gently leading her to the dining table. Corvina thought how strange it was that he was the one one comforting her. Shouldn't it have been the other way around? "Eat some breakfast." He told her as he handed a piece to Zander. He looked at her quietly while she nibbled half-heartedly at a piece of bacon. "You don't have to act as if I'm dead already." Her eyes widened and she looked up at her dad. He had not said the words unkindly, but she should have known he would be so straightforward. He always was. "You're not going to stay home all day either." He held up a hand to halt her protest. "I've got things I need to do today, and I don't want you there for them." She knew exactly what things he meant. Plans for after. His eyes softened. "You've finally made friends here...you probably had plans with them before you found out about this whole mess." Rayner came to her mind. She had completely forgotten about him since she'd found the envelope
The curly hair woman smiled, leaning against the counter and watched her young friend munch down on the plate of food. Truth is, since Rayner moved to town, Danielle has treated him as if he was one of her own. She smiled, noticing Rayner's little habits, how he would cut up his sausages, or how he liked to cut through the yolk of the eggs before spreading it on a piece of toast.

Rayner noticed that she was watching him and looked up at her from the corner of his eyes. "What?" He asked before putting a piece of sausage in his mouth. "You seem happy today, did you hear from him?" Danielle asked, sipping on her cup of coffee. Rayner smirked and swallowed before sitting up straight. He placed his knife and fork down and wiped his mouth. "Yeah, guess he's in China at the moment." Rayner mentioned and took a sip of his coffee. "That sounds like fun, maybe he'll take you one day." Danielle mentioned. Rayner only smiled and continued to finish his plate while Danielle went to go tend to a few guests who had just stepped through the door.

Rayner spent some time that morning reading off of his tablet. He had himself sunk comfortable in a coach. When he realized that it was getting closer to noon, he pulled out his phone to check his messages. No messages.

Good morning, what are you up to? Rayner then typed out and hit send to Corvina.
Talia (played by MoonKunoichi)

Talia groaned slightly as her alarm on her phone decided to wake her from her peaceful sleep. She really didn't want to get up, but it was Noon and She had a lot to do. One being that she had to check up on Sam, after all his Father had just perished yesterday. He would definitely need someone to talk to or she could at least help him out since he was probably heavily mourning his loss.

The second thing she needed to do was some research. Over the years, Talia had acquired many books related to her powers and the like. Maybe some of the books would have insight on why or how her powers had not worked on Sam's father. Not wanting to waste any more time, Talia grudgingly got up from her bed and took a quick shower. Then changing into a light colored sun dress, She proceeded to grab a quick breakfast.
Hopefully this day will be better than yesterday.... She thought while eating her merger amount of food
Corvina (played by Tolora)

Corvina and her dad continued to talk for most of the morning about everything and nothing at all. He made her smile as they talked about different things that had happened in the past, like when she had decided to be a superhero, or when she rescued Zander. As hard as he tried, she couldn't let go of her worries for him. She wasn't a little girl any more. A smile and a few reassuring words didn't make her forget her worry any more. He looked at the clock on the wall and frowned. "I need to go." He said reluctantly. She nodded, like it was just any other normal outing. Her dad got up and hugged her, kissing her on the forehead. "I'll be back later tonight. I love you Corvina."

"I love you too Dad." She hugged him back and wondered how many more times she'd be able to tell him that. After he left, she busied herself cleaning the kitchen and getting ready for the day. She didn't want to sit still with her thoughts. She'd just gotten started looking for her hiking gear when her phone went off. Good morning. I just started packing the hiking gear we'll need later! She sent back to him. Might as well try to pull off a happy face. It wasn't his problem after all.
((Sorry for the late response, been really busy over here :x ))

Rayner was slowly closing his eyes when his phone vibrated again. He looked down and saw the message from Corvina. Though he had started to feel somewhat lazy - he got up anyways. His urge for adventures has always overtaken his laziness, which didn't really settle in often (surprisingly for a teenage boy).

Sweet, another day, another adventure! Let me know when you wanna meet up! he typed and then sent the message.

He then packed up his things and headed out of the door, waving goodbye to Danielle on his way out. He made his way home and began to change into some more appropriate clothes and began to pack his rucksack again filled with supplies they might need - including a small hatchet, knife, rope, and some other camping supplies.
Corvina (played by Tolora)

((Hehe I know what you mean. I've been packing all day for an academic camp I'm leaving for tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to use my laptop there, or I won't be able to get back on and reply til next Friday.))

Corvina finished packing the hiking things and a little lunch. She couldn't honestly say that she knew how to work all the hiking gear since her dad had been the one setting up the most of it, but hopefully Rayner would know. Zander jumped up and barked when her phone went off. He'd curled up and been napping on top of it. Corvina giggled at him and went to check her phone. I'm ready when you are!
((Ah! Well have fun! No worries))

Rayner adjusted the straps on his bag and snapped it all in place.

I'll meet you at the trail head again he sent to Corvina.
See you soon!

He made his way towards his door when he felt something strange. Another presences. He turned his head around - his piercing blue eyes scanned his mostly empty apartment. His glasses weren't on, but his contacts were. He slowly scanned the apartment slowly before turning around completely to make sure he didn't miss anything. His eyes narrowed as he did his best to take in every single detail of the apartment before turning around, opening the door, and slamming it shut. He didn't know what it was, but it definitely felt like someone was there.

The day felt warmer than the other day, enough so that sweat was dripping from Rayner's forehead while he walked towards the trailhead. Once he arrived, he waited for Corvina.
Corvina (played by Tolora)

Corvina made another once over of the supplies in her pack, making sure she hadn't forgotten anything. Zander paced excitedly in front of the door. He knew they were going back. She laced up her hiking boots and walked out the door, locking it after her and putting the key back in its hiding spot. She walked quickly to the spot they met yesterday. It was hotter and she was glad she'd decided to put her hair into a bun before going out. Zander padded ahead of her, looking impatiently back at her for walking too slow. He saw Rayner first and barked a greeting to him.

Corvina smiled when she saw him. She was determined not to break into tears or anything else dramatic in front of him. She genuinely liked him and enjoyed being with him. During school, she hadn't really become close friends with anyone. "Hey."
Rayner watched the way Corvina walked up to him. There was something different about her today that he couldn't quite lay his fingers on. Even the way she greeted him was different than the past two days. "Hey...oh hey Zander, how's it going buddy?" He asked, his face naturally grinning as he got down on to one knee to pet the furry animal. He looked up at Corvina. "I promise that our friendship is not based on this little guy right here...but he helps." Rayner joked before standing back up. He looked down on Corvina and noticed the gear she was carrying.

"You need help with those gear? I can grab those." he said, already reaching out for some of the stuff upon her pack. He attached some of it to his own bag and quickly made room in his bag. "There, that should lighten the load, ready to go?" He asked but already turning around and making his way up the trail. "Oh yeah, it's a hot day, I brought some extra water. No worries, I haven't gotten my germs all of them...yet." He laughed. He turned back around and started to walk - but slowly so she wouldn't lose her.
Corvina (played by Tolora)

((Yes!! Internet here is working and available :)))

It became a little easier to smile while she was with Rayner. She hoped he wouldn't notice any differences, though she was sure they were there. "Sure. That's what everyone says. Then I catch them trying to run off with him." Corvina scratched Zander behind the ear affectionately. He was loving the attention. At least she could still joke with Rayner without much trouble.

She rolled her eyes as he took some of her gear. "You weren't really giving me a choice were you?" Corvina really felt rather grateful though. The pack had already started to make her back ache with the extra weight. She tightened the straps so it wouldn't be moving so much on her back and nodded. "I'm ready to go." She followed him up the trail, Zander prowling through the bushes again. She smiled. "If I was worried about germs, I wouldn't be out in these woods."
"Wooo, ain't that right?" He cheered. They began to hike towards the fall again and with knowing the trails.

"So, what do you think is that beeping sound at the falls?" He asked her as they approached the same stream as the other day. Rayner looked to make sure that the majority of the logs he placed out where still there. It'd be easier than the other day to cross. He wiped the sweat off of his forehead and sighed. It was way too hot, especially with carrying all of these things. Before Corvina could answer, Rayner reached up and undid the straps of his bag, placing the bag down next to his feet.

His shirt had obvious sweat marks on them. He took off his shirt and then paused when he realized what he did. "Sorry, do you mind? It's just really hot..." Rayner said and waited for her reply.
