"Oh yes, didn't I tell you I had healing powers? Oh and the powers to kill anyone with my good looks?" Rayner had to roll his eyes at his own comment. If ONLY he had powers! He had only dreamed of having superhero-like powers since he was a young boy. Then again, most young boys did. Instead he learned how to fly through the air, run really fast, and simply be sneaky. Those were all his natural abilities though.
He ducked back into his room really quick and grabs Corvina a change of clothes. He had grabbed her an old t-shirt that didn't fit him any more and a pair of shorts. The shorts might be a bit baggy on her, but it had drawstrings to keep them up. He walked back out and handed it to her. "Ewww, you're the type of person who likes fruit on their pie?" He teased. He actually quite enjoyed pineapple himself. He let out a heavy sigh, "I GUESS we could do half of the pizza that way..." he made a face that looked annoyed but soon it broke into a smile to show that he was messing with her again.
Rayner then sat at the computer in the living room. He had already plugged in the hard drive and uploaded the information on to it. Meanwhile he went on to the pizza delivery's website and with a few simple click he had ordered them a large pizza - half pineapple and ham, and half all meat and some bread sticks.
He waited for Corvina to change and emerge again before turning on his Playstation and placing the controller on to the glass table in the middle of the living room. "Sooooo...what should we watch? Or we can play a game. Ladies' choice." He said and reached over to Zander to pet him.

Corvina rolled her eyes. "You wish you had looks good enough to kill." She teased. It was always a little strange talking about powers for her. Sometimes she forgot that most people didn't have them. Certainly no one she'd ever met anyways. "Thanks." She said with a smile as he gave her the clothes to change into. Her face fell a little when he didn't seem to want pineapple. When he started smiling she whacked his good shoulder. "Jeesh. Well, while you order the pizza I'll go get changed."
She walked into the bathroom and quickly changed into the shirt and shorts. Corvina turned on the sink and washed some of the dirt off of her face. She turned off the tap and looked curiously at her reflection in the mirror. With one hand, she pulled her hair back, making it look much shorter than it was. While wearing Rayner's clothes, she did look a boy. Sure, maybe a pretty feminine looking boy, but she though she could probably pull it off if she wanted to. Corvina shrugged and let go of her hair, letting it fall back to her shoulders.
She walked out of the bathroom to see Rayner waiting for her. Zander was closing his eyes pleasantly as Rayner pet him. "Hmmm." Corvina pretended to be having a hard time deciding whether to watch tv or play a game. Really, it wasn't a hard decision at all. She picked up the controller. "Just a fair warning though, in first person shooters I tend to die more than kill. I still like to play them though." She smiled.

Rayner smirked and grabbed the other controller he had. He reached over to the computer desk and grabbed his glasses so he could actually see the screen. The glasses transformed his face a bit, making him look like a slightly different person - perhaps more mysterious and intelligent than he already is. "Well, I'll make sure I'll turn on 'friendly-fire' then..." he laughed and soon the tv screen before them turned into a battlefield. The game that they were playing was a first person shooter that was set in a space age where aliens were taking over and the human race was fighting to protect it.
As they played, Rayner gave Corvina little hints on where to go and how to shoot. "You you think aliens exist?" he asked her, while shooting down some of the aliens. "I mean, we can't be the only ones out here - right? There has got to be more, OH HEAD SHOT!" he exclaimed suddenly and returned back to playing.

Corvina glanced back at Rayner with a smile and did a double take. "I didn't know you wore glasses!" It seemed to fit him though. Even though he was quite athletic, it was obvious he had a thing for computers too. She looked at him for a moment. "You look handsome in them." She laughed when he said he'd turn on the friendly-fire and watched the game intro. It looked interesting. It wasn't one that she'd played before.
Corvina yelled at the aliens when they killed her, scaring Zander the first few times. After a while though, he got used to it and just looked at her when she yelled. "Well, I kinda hope that there are aliens--like that one there! I'm gonna get you I swear!!--I mean if it's just us in this whole universe it'd be kind of lonely. DON'T YOU RUN AWAY FROM ME!!" She smiled as she realized what she was doing. "Although I'm not sure that they'd be very encouraged to meet us if they saw us playing this game."

Rayner only laughed but kept calm every time Corvina yelled. Loud noises didn't really bother him. "If we ever get a visit from aliens, I'll make sure to lock you up somewhere. You might leave a bad impression for them." He smirked. A knock on his door came and he immediately turned his head towards the door. "Must be the pizza," he said and placed the controller down. He walked over to the door and checked through the little eye hole to make sure it was the pizza guy. Once he did, he opened up the door.
"Hey, how is it going?" the pizza delivery guy said. Rayner recognized him - someone he had seen around town before. "It's going, here man, keep the change." he said and handed the guy the money and tip. Rayner than closed the door and walked into the living room area, placing the box down and the paper plates. "Chow time!" he announced.
He walked into the kitchen next and opened up his fridge. "Sorry, I don't drink soda...so I don't have any, but can I offer you some juice? Water? Tea?" he questioned looking through his fridge. While was in the kitchen he also grabbed some extra napkins for them as well.

Corvina grinned and looked back at him. "Good luck locking me up. It's hard to do when you can't see me." She looked back at the tv. "Besides, you've killed more than I have!" Zander immediately sat up when there was a knock at the door. Corvina turned to watch too, as Rayner checked the peephole and opened the door. Zander sniffed and was delighted with the scent of pizza. He definitely knew what that delicious cheesy goodness was. He jumped off the couch and went right up to Rayner, following him as long as he had the pizza.
Corvina laughed and opened up the pizza box to grab a slice of ham and pineapple. Normally she'd completely ignore any kind of plates, but this apartment was way too nice to risk making a mess with pizza sauce. She put it on one of the paper plates and picked up an all meat one on another paper plate for Zander. "Tea would be awesome."

Rayner grabbed a bottle of ice tea for Corvina. As he returned, he handed her the bottle and jumped over the couch to grab himself a slice and settled down next to her. "Mmmm...this hits the spot..." he said. His eyes soon glanced over to the computer screen. His two hard drives were still uploading information on to his computer. His eyes scanned the screen quickly before turning back to the video game before them, down at Zander, and back up to Corvina. He took another bite of his pizza again, the hot cheese melted and created a string as he pulled the slice away.
As he did this, he noticed Zander staring at him. He then pulled off some of the meat from his pizza and tossed it in the direction of Zander. The fox did as he thought, catching the pieces and eating them. "Lets see what's on TV..." Rayner said, grabbing a remote with his clean hand and switching the video game over to the TV. The moment he did, a news report came on.
"A rumble shook up the town of Scottsdale today. But was it a natural occurrence? Experts said it was not. We now go live to our very own, Jen Brown for live update. Jen?"
Rayner knew where this was going. He glaced over at Corvina to see her reaction but looked back at the TV.
"It was not too long ago, maybe even a few hours ago when the town was shook up. The strange part is, Scottsdale does not get earthquakes. Experts are saying that the rumble was caused by some sort of explosion but aren't quite sure. Behind me, as you can see, a team of authorities have taped off the site to conduct investigation, but for now we have no further information. Back to you."
Rayner carefully finished his pizza and looked back at the computer screen. The information was done uploaded on to his own computer. "Well, this is going to be a fun thing for them to discover." Rayner said and looked behind him at Corvina. "Unless the self destruct thing destroyed everything." He added and turned back around to click around on the new information he found. He wasn't looking for anything in particular, just browsing at the files he wasn't able to read before.
He then went on to the internet and typed in BML, Inc. out of curiosity. As he waited for the search results to pop up, he reached back behind him for another slice of pizza. "Lets see what BML is..." he said to Corvina and turned back to the computer. Different types of results popped up - from stock information, to random clubs and organizations with the same abbreviations. But not too far down the list, Rayner saw it.
"Body Modifications Laboratories- Improvement for the Future." Rayner read out loud. "They couldn't come up with a better and non-cliche motto?" he smirked. He had always loved the internet for this reason. He skimmed the website and read the information quickly. "So it looks like our BML friends specializes in DNA modifications and they do research on manipulating our DNA for improvement..." Rayner said out loud. "However, according to their own website, they have never tested on human subjects before due to legal reasons. Many people have attempted to shut them down multiple times. Mainly religious people. Makes sense..." Rayner explained. He continued to scan the website even more before turning back around to Corvina.
"Guess the lab that we found was a secret then since there were human test subjects there." He had a slight frown upon his face, as he took a bite out of his pizza. He looked over at Zander once again and tossed some more meat his way.

((I don't want to interrupt the current scene so I'm just gonna set her walking somewhere and then work from there. But I will jump in the plot eventually! I'm probably gonna throw a male character in here later. Kassandra. ))
God, it was hot. It was her first summer in this town. She had moved all the way from Greece after spending most of her life there. Her father was an important man for the government, which was most of the reason why they moved. Her hair blew in the wind as she ran, her ears plugged by the headphones.
Kassandra was a loud, social girl. At the moment, this wasn't very visible, seeing as there was no one she'd met yet. There was also another reason. She'd be starting her senior year of high school in the fall, which meant she really needed to work on her English. Yes, she spoke it, but her accent was very heavy so it would be hard to understand her when she spoke.
She should be grateful. She lived in a beautiful mansion with a nice backyard, she had a decent dad, and a bright future. Kassandra didn't even remember her mother, she'd passed away when she was only a few months old. But loneliness was her worst fear, and that was what she was starting to feel now.
The only thing she was looking forward to was when her best friend from Russia came to see her at the end of the summer, but that was still far away from now and he still hadn't replied to any of her skype messages.
She hated it.

Corvina twisted open the bottle and took a drink. She was definitely a tea addict. She nodded her head. "Definitely." She sighed in contentment and leaned back into the couch. Zander took the opportunity to claim her free lap to lay on. Corvina laughed and scratched behind his ear. All she had left of her pizza now was the crust. She tore it in half and gave one half to Zander while she ate the other one. He seemed content and happy with the both of them giving him parts of their pizza.
When Rayner flipped on the news, she watched closely. Well, that explosion certainly did a number on the area the lab was kept. She realized that the waterfall might be destroyed too. Not that she could ever enjoy going back to it even if it was intact. She wouldn't be able to stop thinking about the lab. She looked over at Rayner with the same mischievous look she always got when she knew something most other people didn't. And he was in on it too!
Corvina lifted Zander off her lap and moved closer to the computer when Rayner started talking about the files he'd uploaded. She watched over his shoulder as he browsed through some of it. "I'm sure they'd have made precautions to destroy every last piece." She shrugged. "No one can plan for every eventuality though."
At that moment, Corvina's phone rang. She had to search through her shorts before she could find it and answer. "Hello?...Yeah Dad, I'm fine...You don't have to worry, we got out before the explosion...I'm at Rayner's right now, he lent me clean clothes...Alright see you later...Love you too Dad. Bye." She closed the phone and put it back in her shorts. She glanced over at Rayner and saw that he was looking up something on BML Inc. "My dad just wanted to know if you'd finally shown your true serial killer self and done me in." She grinned.
She frowned. "DNA manipulation never sounds good. Even when you claim it's for improvement. Well meaning scientists with misguided goals are how bad things happen. Every sci-fi movie teaches you that." Zander was standing with his two front legs on the arm of the couch, trying to see what was interesting them so much. She smiled and picked him up, holding him in her arms as she and Rayner continued to scan the page. "Well, it's definitely not secret anymore. Only question is, what do we do with this now?"

"Well the day is still young, and I do have a knife collection in my room, oh and duct tape - because duct tape separates the amateurs and the pros." Rayner smirked and took another bite of the pizza. He listened to Corvina talk about the learning lessons from the Sci Fi films and chuckled. "Sci Fi films, eh?" he smirked as he usually does when he was about to tease her. "Nerd alert!!" he tried to keep a straight face butbut ended up laughing instead. His chair lean back further and he thought about the situation for a while.
"We can form a superhero squad and take them down..." Rayner said, nonchalantly. He had a blank expression on his face, as though to show that he was serious. "Ha, just kidding." he smiled and let out a little laugh. "Well I guess you can with your power and your sidekick here." he suggested. " What would you even call yourselves?" he smirked.

Corvina rolled her eyes at him and smiled. "I'd disappear before you even got close to me with any of that! You'd still be looking around your apartment while Zander and I would go get ice cream. And not bring any back! Mwahahaha!" Her evil laughter changed into normal giggles. Zander's ears perked up at the sound of 'ice cream' and he looked at Corvina expectantly. "I'm not the only nerd here, you have to admit. You seem to have a talent with computers." She wasn't really sure how he felt about people knowing that, so she kept her teasing about that gentle.
She laughed. "I think a squad requires more than two people." Zander looked at her. "Sorry, I meant three." She leaned against the back of the couch. "You could be like the Robin to my Batman! Wait, Batman was really good with computers too...Batman blended with Robin...to my...Cheshire Cat! Wonderful pair up!"

((I just realized that with Kassandra Ambrosia joining this RP...every character has lost their mothers...weird, haha!))
Rayner laughed when she laughed evilly. For some odd reason, it was funny to him. "Right, because not having ice cream will tear me to pieces." He smirked. "Wait, ice cream actually sounds really good..." He trailed off a bit.
"Oh I am no nerd miss," he said. "I would like to clarify that I am a super genius. Not a nerd. Nerds are for people well, like you. Super geniuses like me are handsome, intelligent, and wise...no one can compare." his smirk turned into laughter. Though Rayner was joking around with Corvina, as usual - he was actually extremely good with electronics and computers. No one could ever tell or even suspect Rayner of having "nerd" qualities due to his athleticism.
"Bat Robin with Cheshire Cat?" He questioned. The blend was not a good one at all. Sounded quite confusing. "That doesn't make any sense!" he laughed. "How do we fight crime? By confusing people with our superhero names?" He let out a small chuckle. "Of course, I could just be Robin - I mean, most of Batman's Robins were all very diverse in skills." He analyzed before looking at Corvina.
"Wait, I can't be a bird and you can't be a cat." He said suddenly. "Cats eats birds...and I don't know about you, but I highly doubt that you could take on these guns..." he said and flexed his arms for a brief second. His muscles bugled up and looked massive. "Even with your power..." he smirked at her, his bright blue eyes lighting up as though to challenge her. He continued to stare her down, locking his blue eyes with her green ones. He could feel his heart beating a bit faster - there was just something about staring into her eyes that caused the knots in his stomachs to come back. He felt...strange.
Suddenly though, he grabs one of the throw pillows on the couch and tossed it at Corvina's face - hard enough to knock her back but gentle enough so that it wouldn't hurt her. The moment the pillow was released form his hand though, he knew he just started something that he cannot stop. A pillow fight.

((Gosh that is really sad ))
Corvina grinned as he explained that he was a 'super genius' and not a nerd. Yup, huge difference. It was obvious she wasn't convinced. "All nerds think that they're super geniuses." Zander climbed up to her shoulder and jumped down onto the back of the couch. He walked across the back of it until he came to the edge and sat down, looking curiously at Rayner.
She'd been sarcastic about the pairing of Bat-Robin and Cheshire Cat being a good one but she played mock hurt anyways when he said something about it. "I never said that fighting crime would be the only thing we'd do...what fun is having powers if you don't ever use them for yourself instead of others every once in a while?"
She grinned when he complained about his being a bird while she was a cat. "Oh, I think I could definitely take you. And Zander would help." The fox looked back at her and she scratched under his jaw. She smirked and looked up at Rayner. He was staring at her with a strange intense look that made her blush. He looked like he was about to do or say something and indeed he did. With a pillow to her face.

((I actually find it extremely funny. I am going to hell.))
Rayner laughed when she didn't react. He was actually slightly disappointed, hoping for a pillow fight but when he realized how hot it was, he was actually somewhat glad that they weren't pillow fighting. The apartment was getting warmer already. Rayner stood up from his chair and stretched. "How about we think about this over ice cream and I'll walk you home after?" He suggested. He was pretty full on pizza, but a little ice cream wouldn't hurt.
He started to clean up the left over pizza and packed up the other half for Corvina to take home. The other, he put in his own fridge for later. A guy like him could never get tired of pizza. After he was done, he took a spare drawstring bag and handed it to Corvina. "Here, you could put your dirty clothes in here." He said and waited for her to be ready to leave.
((Oh my god I forgot to react to the pillow!! ))
Corvina blinked and looked down at the pillow. Zander had jumped up when the pillow hit her face, his tail waving. He knew how pillow fights started. She bent down to pick up the pillow. "Fine, but you'll be buying jerk face!" She laughed and threw the pillow at his head. She wasn't feeling very hungry either, but a person always has room for ice cream. Especially strawberry...yum.
"Thanks." She said as she took the bag from him and shoved her clothes in the bag. After she made sure her phone didn't end up falling out of them she met Rayner by the door. Zander was already there waiting with him. "Onward!"

((Long day? Got kicked in the head too hard? Haha j/k))
Rayner laughed and shook his head. "If I recall correctly...I have paid for all of our past outings. Are you trying to take advantage of me, Miss Ginaldi?" he laughed before locking up his door. Before they knew it, they were already walking down the street again. Rayner didn't look at all injured. It was as though the fact that he was blasted out of a cave only a few hours ago didn't even happen.
They walked down the street and back down to the downtown area where everything just happens to be. It was a short walk from his apartment. "Looks like it's only getting hotter huh?" Rayner commented. He opened the door for Corvina and Zander when they arrived at the ice cream store.
"Hi, welcome!" The attended said from the back. Rayner waved. "What can I get you two?" the guy asked. "Uh...I think I want cookies and cream, in a waffle cone." He said. "What about you, Cor?" he asked and waited.

((Heheh maybe. I might get kicked in the head tomorrow although the only person who's kicked me in the head is myself...))
Corvina looked at him with a smile. "Not at all Mister Beasley. I've just been chaperoning your dates with Zander and since he can't pay himself..." Zander yipped when he heard his name and walked in between them. She really did feel bad about letting Rayner pay for everything. She grew serious. "I can pay for myself this time." Zander looked back at her and whined. "And Zander." She smiled at him. He hated to be forgotten."
She nodded in agreement and went to put her hair up into a ponytail with one of the hair bands she always had on her wrist. It was definitely nice to be in summer vacation but sometimes the heat was a little too much. Zander didn't seem to even notice it. Thoughts of ice cream seemed to completely occupy his mind.
A jolt of surprise went through her when he called her Cor. It reminded her of the nickname her dad had made for her. Apple Cor. Ok, maybe not the best or sweetest of nicknames, but she'd like it when she was little. She smiled and realized that the attendant was probably waiting on her answer. "I'll take a strawberry cone and a small cup of vanilla ice cream please."
Corvina noticed how well Rayner was moving. It was like he'd never been hurt in the first place. It had looked pretty bad before. "You're moving really well for someone who had their shoulder and chest clawed to shreds. How's it feeling?"

((Ha! Now that's talented. If it's any consolation - I have bunched myself in a martial arts tournament before.))
"Coming right up!" the ice cream guy said and got to work. Rayner looked at her and cocked his eyebrow. He hadn't really noticed because he had been feeling so good. "Huh." He said and soon began to move around even more. He first rolled his shoulders around, then started to jump, did a few twist of his torso, and soon stopped. "Yeah, I feel pretty good..." he said. But now he was confused. This was not normal. He still remembered the time when he fell in gymnastic and tore is shoulder up. How the pain lasted for days and into weeks. He remembered the times when he broke his arm, cracked his head open, and even had to get surgery on his knees. Those pain lasted a long time, even after they have healed. After what he had been through today, he felt nothing - as though he was completely healed. And that scared him.
Rayner was lost in his thoughts - his face expressed so, looking dazed. "Here you are, anything else I can get for you?" the ice cream guy said, handing each of them their ice cream. Rayner snapped out of it. He turned to the ice cream guy and shook his head. "N-no." He said. "Ahem, I mean no, thank you. Here." he handed his bank card over to the guy before Corvina had the chance to pay him. "Thank you, sir, I'll be right back with this." he said and left to the other side to charge the card.
Rayner then looked over at Corvina, giving her a small smile. He was still thinking a bit about his body, and it didn't occur to him that she wanted to pay for her own things this time. He simply looked at her then at the cone in his hand. "Ah, cheers!" he said and held his cone up as though to clink it with her's. The ice cream guy then came back and thanked them for stopping by. Rayner then nodded and lead the way back out to the summer warmth.

((Not really sure how you could do that! Unless maybe an uppercut...?))
Corvina and Zander both watched Rayner go through what looked like a sports physical. Zander seemed rather amused, but Corvina was a little worried. He claimed that he felt alright, but Rayner sure wasn't acting like it. He didn't look like he was in pain, just confused and a little freaked out. She was about to say something when the man came back with the ice creams.
She took hers with a thank you to the man and watched Rayner stumble through answering his question and paying him. "You know, if you're just going to pay anyways, you should at least stop making me feel bad about not paying." Her heart wasn't really into the teasing like she usually would be. That wasn't what she was worried about.
"Cheers." She said and tapped her cone against his. Even when he smiled at her he seemed a little distracted. Corvina watched him as they walked outside and then suddenly stopped in front of him, forcing him to stop too. She reached forward and pushed his bangs up to feel his forehead. "Are you sure you're ok? You looked a little freaked out. Maybe we should get you out of the sun..." She bit her lip. She should have made Rayner stay home and just walked back to her house herself.

((CLOSE! It was definitely an uppercut. I went for it and the guy I was matched up with dodged it so quickly, when I went for it, I hit myself. Right in my face. Embarrassing as hell, but ha!))
"Oh, sorry..." Rayner said quietly as they were walking out of the ice cream store. He was still somewhat out of it, and didn't really hear what she said. He suddenly freeze up when she stopped and placed her hand on his forehead. Rayner felt the knots again when Corvina touched him. But the warmth of her hand brought him back to reality. He playfully pushed her hand away. "Oh, okay, mom." He joked and let out a small chuckle. He started to regain his composure and took a bite out of his ice cream. "I'm fine, seriously. Sorry if I worried you..." He said calmly, sounding more like his old self than before. He took a few licks out of his ice cream.
"In fact..." he looked at her with playful eyes and a smile before tossing himself forward into the ground. With one arm extended, he did a one handed handstand all while keeping his ice cream cone in the perfect upright position. At this point, his shirt lifted up slightly and soon up past his chest, exposing his healing chest. He wasn't able to see it, but there were no signs of starches, no holes, no bruises - nothing. Just some slight scars that looked like they too were even disappearing - slowly but surely.
Rayner smiled and pushed himself back up and on to his feet. He took yet another bite out of his ice cream and looked at Corvina smiling. "I feel pretty good. I guess you can call me Superman, heck, I'll take on another beastly warewolf thing again IF...you promise to be my sidekick and shoot it in the head again..." he smirked at her, joking around with her as usual. He definitely did not notice his wounds being gone. Why would he? He wasn't looking at himself after all. He stood there staring at her, while eating his ice cream.
