Rayner laughed and sunk underneath the water for a second before coming up to look at Corvina - grinning and all. "Neighborhood superhero? Did I hear that right?" he asked and swam towards the edge of the pool so he can hold on to it. "How did that work?" he wondered out loud. "What's your superpower?" He laughed.
"Then let's go," Sam smiled walking down the stairs and holding the apartment door open, "it is a beautiful day, and we got at least a forty five minute walk to the theatre." He sighed a bit wishing he could use his bike, it not yet it wasn't time for that yet. He opened his hand towards hers, hoping she would take his hand.
Without hesitation, Talia locked her hand with his. The huge smile on her face, despite the long distance they would have to walk. Talia didn't really mind, as long as she could spend time with Sam and make him happy, nothing mattered.
"So what movies do you usual see?" Talia asked him, trying to strike up a conversation. They had been walking for awhile and Talia had started to wish he had his bike again, though she figured he may have it at the shop for repairs or something. Why else would they be walking?

They passed the alley with the bike in it, Sam glanced over seeing it had shifted a bit, the cop had inspected it of course. "Action movies, horror movies, comedies, even some kids movies," he didn't like romantic movies, they were all the same. With her he'd see anything, so with his other hand he pulled up the movies playing at the local theatre, "Cannon Man: Action, Turtle Doves: Romance, Infinite Ammo 3: Action, HighSchool Humor: Comedy, and Time Traveling Princess: Animated for Children." He really didn't care, but from the reviews and the way Infinite Ammo 2 ended... It was gonna be stupid.
"Time Traveling Princess?!" Talia shouted in joy before she could stop herself. Why couldn't she keep her childish urges at bay?! After all she was nineteen now, and it would be super lame to go see such a movie on a Date such as this one.
"Er I mean, Cannon Man sounds like a good one," Talia said trying to sound mature. Though she could tell she was seriously failing, there went the 'not trying to embarrass herself' moment.
Please god, let a meteor hit me right now to save me from my embarrassment!! Talia pleaded, though she knew all attempts were in vain. She just hoped it wouldn't happen again.

Corvina shook her head and laughed. "I knew that would be the one you'd be interested in." She groaned as she remembered. Definitely her most embarrassing moment. "I bought a batman towel and boxers that I wore over my black super nova onesies...I even bought a little cape for my 'sidekick' Zander." She smiled as she remembered the way he'd fussed when she put it on him. "I ran around the neighborhood helping everyone with my fannypack 'utility belt.' I gave bandaids to kids that fell off their bikes and rescued cats from trees." She bit her lip thoughtfully. "Come to think of it, there were a lot of times I saved cats from trees, and conveniently placed nearby ladders..." Corvina hadn't realized it before but her dad must've gotten the neighbors in on it. "As for my super power..." She decided to go with a little truth here, "It was invisibility."
Rayner laughed. He loved hearing about people's childhood and moments in their lives. It really shows who they are. He had learned a lot about different types of people having traveled around so much with his father when he was younger. Learning about their past always seems to help him gather the most understanding about them and who they are.
He listened to Corvina's story quietly and chuckled when she mentioned the saving of cats. However, he cocked his eyebrow when she said that her superpower would be invisibility. It sparked his curiosity. "Why invisibility?" He asked. If he had the power to choose a power, invisibility wouldn't be high on his list. It would have been cool, but not for him.

Sam and Talia walked for a little while, he laughed at her outburst, it was cute. "Where was the last place you lived," Sam asked trying to make conversation, "do you miss it? And all your friends there?" He was extremely curious about this perfect girl that just sort of fell out of this air. Did it hurt, because something, something, something, pick up line. Sam smiled, he was a dork.
When he asked her why invisibility, her smile turned from shy and nostalgic to mischievous. "Well, not everything I did for everyone was nice. Like if I'd seen someone bullying another person then I'd find a way to prank them or something and they'd never know it was me. Invisibility is a fun power to have." She realized she'd used the present tense rather than past or pretending she didn't really have it. Corvina hoped he wouldn't notice. "Plus, I never really liked having a lot of attention on me, so if I was invisible and no one knew who I was, then they couldn't all make a big show of thanking me or anything."
Corvina felt her arms getting tired from treading water and decided just to float on her back like Rayner had been earlier. Looking up at the sky, she noticed a cloud that looked strangely like a snake with a top hat. "What about you? What's your most embarrassing moment?"

Rayner tilted his head a bit when she was speaking about her power and how she talked about it as though she actually had them. He thought about it but not too much. He was still getting to know her after all. He nodded in agreeing with her that not a lot of attention is preferable.
He let go of the edge again and started to tread water, watching her as she leaned back along the water. He thought about her question and let out a small laugh. "Probably when I a kid and fell during a gymnastic competition..." he said softly. He still remembered that day even though it was 7 years ago. "It was during the parallel bar event and I failed miserably. There was so much pressure...and on one of the flips...I thought I saw someone in the crowd that I knew...and my hand slipped and I fell. Landed right on my shoulder, completely dislocated it. I was on the floor crying. It was so bad...most embarrassing moment in my life." He said. There was a lot of pain still from that day. He let his teammates down, his coach down, and just himself down.
"Ha, hey, nothing as embarrassing as pretending a superhero, am I right?" He laughed - teasing Corvina a bit. "Hey, but we all live and we learn..."

Thankfully, Rayner didn't seem to notice her slip up and if he did, he didn't ask about it. Corvina listened to him tell his story and tried to imagine him when he was younger and doing gymnastics. It wasn't hard considering that she'd seen him dodge being hit by a car just earlier that day. "Well, you can't always win. And it's obvious you've gotten better."
She laughed when he teased her about being the neighborhood superhero. "Yeah that went on for a while. I think I still have the towel...who was that person you saw in the crowd?" She thought that person must be important if it was enough to cause him to fall and dislocate his shoulder.

"Do you now? Well that'd be amazing to see...or not see, I should say." He said and got quiet for a bit again when Corvina asked about the person. "See, this is why it was so...embarrassing. I thought I saw my mother." He said and soon leaned back against the water as well, letting his arms drift to his sides. "I have never met the woman and I thought I saw her." He explained.
He looked up at the clouds above before suddenly a large splash came and hit him and Corvina in the face. He jolted back up quickly and turned to the side to see a bunch of kids cannon balling into the pool. He smiled and soon looked at Corvina. With one quick slap of his hand, he splashed some water in her face and smirked.

Corvina laughed gently at him mentioning seeing or not seeing the towel. She had to do it gently because she had just recently learned to float and if she forgot to relax she'd sink. Which she did anyways when he said the person had been his mom. She quickly came back up with her hair pushed back from the water. "Wow..." That she could understand. Her own mother had died when she was too young to remember her.
A sudden splash of water to their faces stopped conversation. She laughed when Rayner splashed her too. "Be careful what you start!" She said as she splashed him back.

Rayner began to splash Corvina harder, starting a water fight of sorts in the pool. He turned around and begin to use his powerful legs to make bigger splashes at her way. He laughed and quickly forgot about his embarrassing moment. Great distraction.
In the mist of it all, the other kids in the pool began to mimic their water fight and soon everyone was splashing each other. Rayner smirked and took his chance. One moment he was there above the water and the next moment he had stealthy dove underneath the water and it looked as though he had disappeared. He swam around underneath the water like a shark while everyone else was still splashing about.
He looked up - even though his goggles were off, he could still see and make out Corvina's legs and red bikini. Quickly he pushed his foot off the bottom of the pool and launched himself up right behind Corvina. "BOO!" He yelled from behind her, than grabbed her with his strong arms across her shoulders and pulled her beneath the water for a brief second before letting go, not wanting to harm her or possibly even drown her. He watched her to make sure she was okay and floated only a few inches away from her, in case he needed to pull her back up.

"In Verona Italy," Talia replied with a heavy sigh of remembrance. She had loved being in Italy, it was absolutely beautiful!
"Though I didn't make a lot of friends there," She said, a slight blush spread across her face.
Sure the city had been gorgeous and the food always made her taste buds explode with flavor, but Talia had seemed to forget one of the most important things while staying there, to make friends. She had been to wrapped up in the history and culture of Italy to bother to even try. Which made Talia now understand why her mother was so worried about her now, she would always ask her if she made a friend.

Corvina laughed and turned her head away with her eyes closed, forgetting that she had Rayner's goggles on. No matter what, she always found herself overpowered in a water fight. That was until another kid started splashing him with her, and then others joined in until everyone in the pool was splashing each other. Now that she'd remembered she had goggles on, Corvina had gotten used to not flinching her eyes away from every splash. She rolled her eyes. Rayner was the only person she knew who could start a pool wide splash war.
When she looked around, she couldn't find him anywhere. She was just about to call out Rayner's name when someone shouted "Boo!" behind her and took her underwater. Corvina didn't even have time to scream and she just barely remembered to get some air before going under. When she saw it was Rayner she narrowed her eyes at him and kicked him in the chest. Not that it really had a lot of force behind it, being underwater and all. She swam back up to the surface to get more air before her measly supply ran out and waited for Rayner to come back up.

Rayner flinched a bit when she kicked him. He smirked and swam back up above the water. He looked at her and did one last splash at her. The kids around them had seemed to calm down a bit, especially after the lifeguard yelled at them all. The lifeguard glared at Rayner for being the one whom started the whole thing. Rayner simply shrugged his shoulders and looked back at Corvina.
He began to float around on his back again and relaxed a bit more. "Hey...you know where would be a good place to take a dip?" He asked but continued to talk again. "There's this small lake in the forest, you know, behind the school. I'll bet the water is nice over there..." He said and looked at her. "What do you say? Wanna go for a hike to a lake?"

"You scared me!" She told Rayner when he came up. She tried to hide her laughter by coughing when the lifeguard glared at Rayner. He didn't really see to care less that the lifeguard was mad at him though. No one had been hurt really anyways. The kids around the pool had all reluctantly gone back to whatever they were doing before the splash fight begun.
"You know, I think that's what a lot of serial killers say to their would-be victims. 'Would you like to follow me to this nice place completely away from any possible witnesses? I promise it'll be fun!'" She smiled to show she was just joking. "Yeah, I'd love to, but I should probably run back to my house and grab Zander first. He'll be furious that I even left him alone this long."

Rayner laughed. He hadn't thought about it that way, though he had read plenty of murder-mystery books and watched a bunch of police television shows. "Well who knows? Maybe I am..." he trailed off only to give her a teasing smirk.
When she mentioned her little fox friend, Rayner smiled. "Yes! I am down to have you bring him along!" He said, quiet excitingly. Normally, Rayner was quiet calm. In fact, he is known for being calm. But knowing someone with a pet fox has been one of the coolest things he had ever heard of - and he had seen a lot on his travels with his father.
With that he pulled himself out of the pool, now looking down at Corvina. He head out his hand to her, offering her help out of the pool. "I'll meet you at the trail head, the one near the library." He said with his hand still extended - waiting for her to grab it.

Sam looked around as they walked, it was such a beautiful day. Probably a good one to be free like most up coming days, he wanted last night to fade away, "what was your favorite place to have lived?" Sam asked, "and if you could live anywhere, where would it be?"
His hand swung a bit hers locked in his, it was like they were an actual couple, it was cute, like old people at the old coffee shop that they first met at cute. Like if Sam was six he'd say this was gross, cute. In short... she was cute.
