Kitty was regretting her suggestion. She had no idea who this man was, other that he was a trained killer with a stutter. And she had just thrown him quite a bone to chew on when she didn't know if he was trustworthy or not. It wouldn't take much to send her back to the Seven, and he had the means to do it. She hadn't calmed down enough.

But there was no turning back now. The village was now awake with confusion, and they needed to get out. Kitty will have to take what little trust she could get.

"Great." she swung herself into her saddle. "Lets go!"

With a kick, her horse bolted through the city, its gates, and out into the wild roads. Packets of trees and a company of centaurs dotted the landscape, the sky had just began to golden when she had stopped to wait for Beau.

"We need to head to Peere, the gryphon city. There I'll be able to tell you everything about my bounty. Until then, I'm Kitty." she held out a hand.

The horse Beau had chosen wasn't too far behind, and the two were in full gallop together for quite some time. Once the woman decided to slow up, Beau shook her delicate hand firmly, his own calloused palms feeling like stone in hers.

"Kit-K-Kitty. N-Nice ta'meet ya." was the habitual greeting. It was only after Beau said it aloud did he realize how strange it might've sounded, to be pleased to meet someone on the run. He had many more questions to pose, as he was sure Kitty did towards him, but all of that would come in due time.

"Hungry?" he asked suddenly, craning his neck to the left at the sound of small footsteps behind him, "I-I could g-get us a meal if you'd li-like."

She couldn't help but feel even smaller in the presence of Beau. His tough hands made her tense slightly, recalling their ability to kill without effort.

His stutter made her pause, patiently, but it ended in a snort. "Nice to meet you too, I think. Fantastic way to meet new companions is it not?" she laughed at his observation.

Kitty brightened significantly. A hunter too? How convenient and lucky she had been! Minus the killer part of course, but that couldn't be helped with all the dangers life brought she imagined. "Please!" she moaned with the idea of eating food. "Very nice of you to offer. Need me to hold the horses?" she asked.

"Please, if-if ya wouldn't m-mind." he replied politely, odd giving the circumstances. Beau made sure to jump from his steed quietly, not wanting any animals nearby to flee. The forest was abound with them anyway, but the less time it took to catch their supper the better.

While Kitty took charge of the horses Beau was setting up small traps all around them, from cages made up twigs and vines to hatches and spikes made of bark. Dozens of them laid around, hidden beneath the leaves, but far enough away from the two to be out of harm's way themselves.

"No, we w-w-wait." Beau sighed, dusting off his dirt-ridden hands and seating himself on the stump of an old tree. It wouldn't be long now, if all went according to plan.

A horrible idea came to her head to just take the horses and run. There was no way he could catch her, and even if he managed to make it to Peere there was no guarantee that she would be there by the time he told the Seven. But, she couldn't. Kitty was obligated to pay back Beau for saving her life, or, until she knew if he really wasn't planning on turning her in later.

"Great. I'm starving." Kitty admitted as she tied the horses to a tree. After brushing off the dust on her robes -- her bloody ones, she let out a tired sigh. "So its, Beau right? I-I should have said this earlier but, thanks. Thanks for saving me earlier, I really didn't want to resort to magic so I'm very glad you came around." she said, plopping on the grass next to him.

Beau's eyebrows raised at the admission of Kitty's powers, causing him to lean over somewhat, his elbows balancing on his knees. "So you-you're a m-m-magic user?" She had just claimed the truth herself, and yet Beau couldn't help but to ask the obvious once more. Granted he hadn't been around many of her kind before, but the few times he had magic users seemed to carry more of a -- blatant air. She blended in so well.

Off in the distance one of the traps set off, causing a muffled crack and a tiny shriek from an innocent creature. Most likely a squirrel, from Beau's estimation. But the man made no move to get up just yet -- he barely even flinched at the sound -- no, his full attention was on Kitty.

"Why didn't you u-use your m-magic to free yourself from those m-m-m -- y-your captures?" he switched, having given up on forcing the word out without luck.

Kitty sat up in disbelief. "I thought it was obvious I was. Robes, no weapons, being hunted by The Seven.." Maybe The Seven were not as famous as she had thought. Granted, none of them held any political power other than caretakers of magical objects, councilors to leaders and instructors of the magical arts. And most "magical arts" was used in underground guilds and radical groups, a permanent dark stain on the integrity of wizards.

Blowing air out of her nostrils she slumped her head on her knees. "I dont like using magic to solve my problems." she said defiantly, before rising up with sudden vigor. "It only causes nothing but trouble. My magic could have saved me yes, but magic is powerful. Magic is not just a singular thing that you can throw at a person!"

Her eyes shut quickly with regret. Calm down! Beau probably did not know what she was angry about. Kitty clenched her jaw and exhaled. "I apologize. I did not mean to lecture." Her hand rubbed the back of her neck. "What about you? What do you do for a living? Other than hunt and rescue damsels in distress?"

He blinked in surprise at her sudden outburst, but stayed totally still despite the subtle change in expression. He nodded curtly at her apology, indicating no real offense was taken. He hadn't realized the woman -- Kitty, he corrected -- held such stern opinions about her own abilities.

"Me?" Beau asked rhetorically, not able to help the bemused grin that pulled at his lips somewhat awkwardly. "I'm a-a-a th-thief." Silence filled the forest, aside from two loud snaps and strangled gurgles from more animals caught in the hidden traps afar. Beau kept his eyes on Kitty, however, searching her gaze for the average reaction to such a profession: horror, disgust, perhaps even anger.

Heavens she was such a child. So emotional about something she was so used to experiencing. A lack of understanding -- Kitty should not be so touchy about it, she could not help it. But she still felt embarrassed in front of Beau, although her face said otherwise.

A reaction Beau got. Although it was a more upset reaction than an angry one. "A thief? I see." Her voice was now quiet. "That explains why you are so quick with a blade and.." Her hands split to try and find more words but the memories blocked any out. She shut her eyes again briefly. "Are so resourceful." She said, looking into the distance where the last squeal cried.

At that moment Kitty held guilt for a childhood filled with tales of master thieves.

"That must mean you travel often, I imagine?" She asked, with a clear motive behind her eyes.

"Yes." he replied swiftly, only then choosing to turn and look behind at the traps before turning back to Kitty. "I never st-st-stay in a town for too lon-long." Beau added, cracking his neck tiredly as though the conversation of murder and pillage bored him.

"I don't st-st-st-steal from those who have little, though -- if there's an-any retrib-bution to be gained." The remark was said almost coyly. In a way, the young man couldn't care less about judgement; there was more at stake than his reputation or whether or not he was seen as 'moral'. But for some odd reason, he found himself inclined to ease any anxities the woman might have.

"I can imagine." Kitty frowned at him. The neck crack was unnecessary. She knew that being a thief was not all what tales and legends hailed them to be.

It worked. She did feel more comfortable with what he said, but then again logically it was best to steal from those who had too much anyway. But she appreciated it, and gave him a warm smile. "Glad to hear you're not senseless. Theres plenty of those out there." she briefly looked to her bag.

"Is it possible that we could make a deal?" she asked quickly. "I need protection and navigation from an expert who knows those paths less traveled. Although, as you can imagine it would not be an easy job. Not sure if you want that kind of trouble, but the reward is worthwhile." Kitty said.

"An-And the rew-ward is?" Beau challenged, ignoring one last 'snap' behind him as yet another small creature fell prey to a trap. In truth he was far from above helping a stranger in need without reward -- as apparent from just a few hours ago -- but the blonde still had needs. And anything he could take back with him, be it coins or riches, wouldn't be turned down. Or perhaps something even more valuable than that.

Kitty bit her lips. What she had in her parcel -- or she hoped she had, was priceless to Kings. To a thief it was easily something worth killing her over. "Something beyond all riches of man and mythican," she said, watching him carefully. "But I can only confirm it once we are in Peere. I can say though, that the bounty on my head is certainly not enough for my capture."

She would never say that she actually had no idea if she could gain access to the information she needed in Peere. But with Beau, maybe, that was now possible. "If it all comes to nothing at Peere, I can pay you for your escort to the city, and a little more for saving my life. Least I can do."

He held Kitty's stare for quite a while, before sighing in acceptance and giving a light nod. "Alright, agr-greed." The treasure at the end wouldn't be turned away, but the vagueness of what the woman held towards Peere was what had enamored Beau.

"I'll ready our s-supper." he spoke up, standing up with a small grunt and walking towards his traps. They had a half dozen small animals, easily -- a better catch than most hunter made in an hour, let alone a few minutes.

A quick sigh escaped Kitty's lips. "Good." She was horrible at keeping things to herself, secrets or presents alike. But she had to, as much as she wanted to guarantee her safety to the city. Each time Kitty felt Beau's curious gaze, she felt even more inclined to tell him the treasure she held, if he would just look at her no more.

"I'll work on the fire," she went into her bag to grab her flint. In a short time, with the sticks and pine she had a fire going.

"A f-f-few r-rabbits and squirrels -- n-not too bad." Beau spoke quietly, skinning the animals of their fur with a knife as the fire crackled. He worked in silence aside from the occasional humming he found himself unknowingly breathing out, an old tune sung to him back when he was a child. It was ironic, such a calming melody springing forth throughout such gorey procedures as knifing small animals.

"Fantastic, I love rabbit." she perked up. Setting the leftover sticks in a very nice little cone over the fire, Kitty then turned her attention to the very, very skillfully skinned rodents. She rubbed thyme onto the rabbits, leftover sprigs from her older adventures to add some taste to the light meat.

As she worked, the soft tune that Beau murmured caught her attention, and she smiled brightly at it. "Thats a lovely sound Beau, does it hold any significance for you?" Kitty asked, while beginning to lay the meat to cook.

He was continuing to surprise her.

Beau's eyes darted up at the question in surprise, only for them to fall back down towards the knife as though nothing had happened. "My mother w-would ssssing it to me, o-often." was all the man said, his voice reaching to sound as apathetic as possible.

Once the meat was cooked and seasoned the two dug in, with more tenacity from Beau. His squirrel was picked clean to the bone in an instant, already polishing his teeth with his fingers before Kitty was halfway through. He spared a glance at the woman and wondered if she was picky or he was a glutton.

"I see. I, I didn't think thieves were sentimental." she joked.

Kitty lifted a rabbit with the help of a stick, and blew on it a few times until at last sinking her teeth into its meat. But by that point, Beau had already nearly finished his. The momentary gaze made Kitty feel awkward, and a little sick by the grease collected on his chin. How different life was outside of the towers! Perhaps her manners in the outdoors were unnecessary, but habits were habits, and Beau would not be the first to not have any. After giving him a weak smile, Kitty turned her eyes away to delicately nibble at her meal.

"Do you know how far Peere is from here?" she asked when she had at last finished. "It's not too far...right?"

Beau averted his gaze to let the woman eat in peace, knowing an awkward glance when he saw one. After her rabbit was finished he answered her question, careful to keep his ears alert for any other animals nearby -- or hunters.

"A day's juh-j-journey. Not too f-far." he commented to Kitty, though Beau's eyes scanned the sky in search of something unseen. "It's t-t-too quiet. I ffffear something isn't r-right."
