OK so i'm new to rping but I've been a writer in my spare time before this and hopefully no one will get irritated at my writer's style of rping, I would like to start rping with someone, if there's a group of people that's fine with me but to start off I would prefer a one on one or as I've seen on here a lot 1x1
so how about it i'll do anything from an action science fiction to a fantasy romance (as long as it stays calm, no funny business please)

I'm not a great Writer but I do like to role play and what I lack in pure writing skills I make up for in Role play and imagination if you would like to Rp with please PM me
I'm open to playing with you as well ^^
You keep mentioning a "writer's style of rping" but I'm just not sure how that'd be any different from the norm.
I'm open to roleplay with you if you are interested.

This, to be honest. Role-playing is writing.
Yeah I picked that up earlier when me and LordFantastic were pm rping to be honest I thought it was slightly different
Different how?
I think he might just be trying to say that as a writer, he tends to create longer, more detailed posts, rather than,
If you're looking for a Sci-Fi RP, I just started one. I also tend to have a more prose-like approach to Rping, so I think we could work together well. It's kind of a big RP, and I don't know if you would like it, but I'd like for you to check it out.

I'd be interested in RPing with you, if you like. I'm a writer first, a roleplayer second. Though, I imagine you'll be a better writer than me because I'm not the best of writers.
And I want to clarify for people. There is a difference between roleplay writing and prose writing, like for a novel. Because... roleplayers who aren't also writers tend to do the *He jumps* thing or even use the first person in an RP. Oh. My. God. I hate when someone uses the first person in a roleplay. It's one thing when I'm writing a story and do it... but when I'm writing for a roleplay, that's just a huge no-no. Also, RP writing tends to allow for a lack of descriptors and variety in language. I'm not saying all RPers commit those sins of writing. But many do. Most of them being people who RP but are not writers by trade or hobby.

Interesting. I've very rarely come across serious RPers who use first-person.

This is because when you are RPing and one or both people use the first person, things get confused and it sounds very strange when you read it later. What if you read a story that did that? Had two characters and used the first person for both characters? It'd be really weird and confusing to read.
Ex:
I looked at him intensely, contemplating his words. Then, I conceded. "True."
I grinned smugly when she agreed with me. "I am always right."
"Not always." I reply to him, rolling my eyes.
It doesn't flow well. This is why we shouldn't use the first person in RP.
Because when you use the first person in a story it would read like this...
She looked at me intensely, as if she were thinking hard about what I had said. Then, she gave in. "True."
I grinned smugly at her when she agreed with me. "I am always right."
"Not always." She responded, rolling her eyes at me.
It just makes more sense. But the first person is also severely limited, and tends to not allow for knowing that the other person is thinking. Which is why if you do an RP and only one person uses the first person, it ends up sounding really weird because somehow the one character knows every thought of the other. It doesn't make logical sense. And it doesn't flow nicely.
When using the third person, it just sounds better.
She looked at him intensely, thinking hard about what he had said to her. Then, after a moment of thought, she conceded his point. "True."
He grinned smugly at her, glad she'd agreed with him. "I am always right."
"Not always." She responded, rolling her eyes at his huge ego.
Does that make sense?

I'm not sure what you mean by "writer's style of RPing," but I think you will find this article interesting and reassuring: Is Online RPing a Writing Craft?

Not to get too off-topic, but I wanted to mention that it's not only narratively confusing -- many people find that it is damaging to the barrier between IC and OOC, AKA "I am not my character."

That, too. That's another one of the big things with first person.
Only tense worse than first person is second person... I will never understand the insert-yourself stories. Too confusing!

You mean Choose Your Own Adventure?

I don't know what it's called because the only time I read one I was left scratching my head and lost interest after the first half of a chapter.
