i can't seem to find anyone to RP with and i really want to try out this website, see what some of the people are like...

There's tons of furries here! Try looking through Browse Characters to see some of the folks lurking around.

As for actually looking for RP and drawing attention, it's usually better to post your call for people in the Looking For RP board. You can also try the Find RP tool, which will show things proposed by people who have been on within the past 10 minutes. And don't be afraid to just approach people yourself!

In addition to Nova's suggestions (after browsing the intro thread you dropped), if you really want to dive in, you can also browse the Groups section and join one.

However, be forewarned that they aren't as heavily moderated as the forums are. The mods still lurk every now and then, but most of the administrating is left to the Group creators and their cronies helpers. For some, that's a good thing, as those running the Group might have laxer standards, but it would be best to check with those running that particular Group or read up the rules posted in them prior to going hog wild

Beep beep, boop, EDIT: Also, some require acceptance by the Group maker in order to enter, so if you can't get in right away, contact them before trying again.

Do you mean furries as in, people who are part of the IRL subculture (furry/furries) or anthropomorphic characters? Because not everyone who plays an anthro character is a furry IRL/OOC.
