Didi walks along the beaten trail on her way to Cobalt town where she had heard an ad depicting as the place to be recently. As the wind ruffles her snowy hair, she remembers the words very clearly in her mind... "Looking for anyone interested who is interested in skill more than power to compete. No restrictions! Expect a challenge though, for the tournament will be held over a series of location throughout the Delta Region." She remembers the map, and how precarious the locations were. What a world she lived in she thought to herself. Wurmple nudged her cheek form her left shoulder and she then realized that the shadow approaching her was from the sky. She jumped to the side and narrowly dodged the talons of an enourmous Fearow, which she then turned and shot at unsuccessfully. Sweat dripping down her face, she looked back towards the direction she was headed earlier and saw the small and humble outline of Cobalt town, an old mining village that was to be the start of her adventure. She could hear the Fearow's cries dying off in the sky as it fled, but she worried what the future might hold. Turning to her Wurmple again, she petted his ruffly back, and then stood up and kept on her way down the hill and towards her new adventure. She just hoped that she had dressed for the event, wearing nothing but her lime green frilly polyester tube top and skirt. She had nothing on her person other than these clothes and a small pack her professor had given her that held a few useful items like a pokeball and an Oran berry, as well as a map and of course her pistol.
Jerry was an experienced trainer, having participated in many a Pokemon league challenge over the years. His experience was clear in the form of the Togekiss on whose back he flew. Its shimmering feathers and muscled wings were a testament to a long life of intense training balanced by tender loving care.
He looked down to see the town just ahead of them and smiled. "That's got to be Cobalt Town!" he shouted over the winds sweeping by them. Another glance showed him a flock of small Flying Pokemon hovering around the city. Squinting his eyes, Jerry noticed unnatural glints of light on these Flying Types: police sentry birds. "Okay, take her down, Jett. I can't afford another air-space violation ticket." His Pokemon partner sang into the air and took a dive. As it approached the ground, its flight path leveled out more and more with the ground until it flew level with the ground. Jerry took a sprinting pose on its back and recalled the Togekiss into its Pokeball. Keeping his momentum, Jerry sprinted hard, using his only-human stamina and speed to gradually slow himself down to a gradual walk.

Didi jogged eagerly into the town limits, glad to be away from the dangerous wilderness. The town was quiet, and she couldn't tell exactly where she was supposed to go, until she noticed that there seemed to be a sort of gathering towards the center of the town. She glanced towards Wurmple on her left shoulder, who was no use, being completely distracted by the new sights and sounds. She looked around one more time and then started walking in the direction of the commotion. Rattata were scrambling about a dumpster as she passed, and she shuddered. "Ew, normal types." Wurmple whined in agreement.
Just as she caught up to the edge of the crowd, attention suddenly shifted to a bright white pokemon gracefully flying to the ground and an impressive looking trainer dismounting dramatically. "Showoff..." she muttered. then she heard gasps from about her and noticed that behind the trainer, a rabid Mightyena was growling viciously from behind the trainer, stepping closer to him in a dazed but determined manner.

Jerry turned around at the sound of the growling. "Huh, that's not good." He took out another Pokeball and let out a proud, majestic Lucario. "Okay, Riot, politely dissuade our rabid friend from getting any further into town." With that, the Lucario's lifted one foot in a ready crane stance when it suddenly burst into flames. It leaped at the Mightyena and kicked it square in the chest, sending it tumbling back, it's fur singed. The creature stumbled to its feet and turned around, demoralized and unwilling to continue the battle.
"I feel bad for it," said Jerry. "But it really can't be helped. All we can do is drive it away from people. Good job, Riot." He recalled his faithful partner into its ball and suddenly noticed the crowd all around him. "Okay! Move on! Nothin' to see here! Show's over!" The crowd did begin to disperse, albeit slowly, but Jerry had to laugh at himself. "I don't think I've ever told a crowd to stop looking at me before. I dunno what came over me."

As the crowd is dispersing, a quiet girl remains standing in front of him. She has only a Wurmple on her shoulder, and seems impressed, although it is hard to determine her emotion with the sun reflecting so brightly off of her bleached white skin. "Are you here in response to the flier? I came looking to join the tournament. What about you? I just can't figure out where it is. I think the crowd had something to so with it. But you told them I not be a crowd anymore..."
"Oh, is that what it was about?" Still, the crowd hadn't gotten very far before reforming closer to the building on their left. "Uh, well, I guess that means that's the place over there. Let's hop on over there and get registered!" Jerry pulled a flyer out of his back pocket and looked it over. "Okay, it says here that there's going to be a preliminary qualifying per-tournament whatamahoochy first. The Tornament proper won't start for another couple of days." Jerry poses dramatically. "To the registration desk!" He grabs his new, bleached-white friend and runs toward the entrance.
Didi is dragged along with a surprised look on her face. ( She's albino by the way, if I hadn't mentioned that yet. ) Um... Preliminary? Darn. That wasn't in the ad that I saw! She pours as she flies like a banner from Jerry's hand. ( She might not do to well in a battle right now, although she and Wurmple are pretty clever. I'm up for a battle if you are. )
((Not yet. I would like to build this up for a while first, let them see what each other can do first.))
Jerry made it up to the front desk. "Name's Jerry Jay, and this is my friend, what's-her-name! We need forms to sign up for the preliminaries!" The woman behind the desk gave him a very confused look, but all the same, she handed both of them their forms. Jerry scribbled in all of his information and handed it back to her in an instant. "There ya go, lady! Time for me to be the best, like no one ever was!" The lady behind the desk blinked and backed away slowly.

"You are scaring the people, be careful!" Wurmple whimpered agreement. SO this sign up sheet... What if I don't have an address, zip code, or last name? Ugh, I'll just draw a Groudon in a bikini and... There! *Signs her name in big block letters* That should be good ma'am."
( Alrighty then, that's fine by me, I'm a little new to roleplay, sorry. )

"Okay then! Apparently we need to go into that back room over there to pair off with other trainers." Jerry looked at a sign on the wall. "I think... wow, we need to win three battles in a row. Sheesh, they're limiting us to two Pokemon each in these battles. Have you ever heard of anything like that?"
Didi is dizzy from Jerry's movements. "Wow, you are really observant. Wait, two times three is six. That makes perfect sense. Ugh. Three battles... Here goes nothing!" She looks around and finds what seems to be a back room, and then heads inside, with Wurmple dancing on her shoulder:

((Got an idea))
Jerry found his way into a back room. There was another trainer at the back of the room. He was a big, mean looking biker type, spinning a Pokeball on the tip of his finger.
"Yer better off backin' out right now, loser!" he growled at Jerry. "I been known to cause poimanant damage when I battle."
"Is that so?" Jerry grinned. "Well then, I guess I'd better eliminate ya before you do any more damage!"
Both trainer took their dramatic poses and threw their opening Pokeballs into the area.
"I choose you!"

( That was a little vague. I can play the NPC biker trainer if you'd like. Not sure how you want to do this. )
Didi jumps, unprepared for the sudden battle, but then backs off to the corner to watch. "You got this Jerry! And I know your name because I saw your application before you get confused. Didi backs up and runs into a Hiker who had been dozing against the wall. "ROAR LET'S BATTLE!"
Didi is weirded out, exclaiming "What do you guys do just wait back here for trainers to show up? You aren't about to go hiking! You know, just forget it. I'll start with you Wurmple." She holds her arm out and lets Wurmple crawl on, then lowes him to the ground gently. "I dare you to use a rock type."

The Camper smiled. "If you say so! Go, Nosepass!" He released the little statue Pokemon from it's ball, and it gave out a grunt. "Now then, Nosapass, let's rock!" The Nosepass began charging at the little worm. ((Battle entry, so it will be short))
Didi smirked, them without hesitation, confidently yelled to Wurmple: "You know the drill for this one Wurmple! String Shot and climb!" Wurmple sprays a sticky silk streamer all over the floor between him and nosepass, then fires a string to the ceiling and pops up to grip the ceiling using an experienced and graceful flip.
The Nosepas got tangled in the sticky strings on the ground, slowing to a halt. "No! No!!" The Camper let out a chuckle. "Not bad, but not good enough! Nosepas! Use Discharge!" The Nosepas lifted both of its stubby little arms and fired a blast of electricity up toward the worm on the roof.
((I pick a good Rock for this fight!))
((I pick a good Rock for this fight!))
( I figured that might happen. I'll just have to take it unfortunately. )
"Wurmple! Just endure it!" Wurmple locked his legs onto the grain of the ceiling and took the hit the best it could. Although it was a tough Wurmple, it wouldn't do well to take another hit like that. "Wurmple, ground him on that outlet, then attack!" Wurmple shot one last string, wincing as it did, to connect the Nosepasses face to an electrical outlet on the ceiling near the air vent Wurmple was next to. Wurmple looked exhausted, and his string was getting thin, but he he was able to slide down the string and tackle Nosepass in an attempt to knock him over and further trap him before bounding off the sturdy rock type.

The Nosepas fell over, and couldn't get back up. "Keep strikin', Nosepas! Light up the night!" The Nosepas fired off electricity in random directions now, being disoriented on its back. Within a few seconds, it began losing losing voltage until he just stopped. No! It tuckered itself out!" He recalled his Pokemon and threw out another. "Go get 'em, Machoke!" He let out his second Pokemon, a large Machoke that came out flexing its muscles. "Stomp down that worm!" But the Machoke just kept flexing. "Machoke! Stop posin' and get your head in the game!" No dice, it just kept flexing.
Didi and Wurmple looked at each other and then back at the Machoke. "Uh... Okay. Wurmple, swing down to his face!" Wurmple looked at Didi with an exhausted face and started to complain, "WURMPLE WURMPLE," so she sighed, "Fine, you can rest..." Wurmple returned to her by leaping in her face. She wasn't surprised though, and Wurmple's soft belly made a nice cushion.
"Alright, go Durant!" she exclaimed. She tossed out a pokeball and A Durant popped out very lazily. It looked around and made an engine sounding chirping noise, then dove straight for the Machoke's face for a Guillotine without being given orders. "Durant you are so annoying!" Didi cried out.

The Machoke grabbed the Durant before it made contact with its face. "Good! Now hurry and--" It quickly resumed posing. "You idiot! Get it in a Submission hold! Break that little scrap!" The Machoke, finally seeming inclined to obey its trainer, grabbed the Durant in both of its colossal hands and began to crush it. ((It's Bug element and high defense should cushion the attack. Now is your chance!))
