She looked at it confused. "T-Thank you....but y-you live in a candle store?" She asked burying her hands farther into the coat he had given her. She cocked her head to the side quizzically.

The wizard peeked into the store, "Of course not. This is only a lesson to teach you that doors can lead to anywhere. Just walk in, you'll see."

She nodded and took a step inside, still highly confused. "o-ok..."

The air changed with her first step in, a radiating warmth and the area had a faint glow of orange. Somewhere in time the floors had turned to wood and up ahead were two flights of stairs that encased the room, both leading to the same upstairs hallway that led to other room. Ahead was a carpet of bear skin with two large cushioned chairs that faced one another and between the two was a hearth, blazing with an undying fire that hardly gave off any heat. As though it were simply there for display and nothing more. The room seemed both large and small. Perhaps it was the glow of the fire, but nonetheless it was intimate and snug. This was his home.

What was left of New York could be heard and seen from the door until the wizard stepped in and closed it. If she were to open up the door again she would see that they were no longer in New York, or even in that country. "Just make yourself at home for now," he unbuttoned the cuffs of his sleeves as he walked further in. "Gerald will find you a room out of your choice, and it's around time for dinner so I'll meet you soon in the dining room," he shot her a comforting smile before beginning towards the hearth again where his own room lied: behind the fire.

She looked about it in awe. It was a very welcoming home, it reminded her of the houses In Better Homes and Garden magazine. She watched the bear skins as if they would come alive at any minute and She turned to him. "How did you do that?" She whispered. "how do have so much control and barely bat an eye?" She mumbled to herself walking around and looking at her new surroundings. It was lovely.

"Oh uh, who's Gerald?"
Nelis Orlitt (played by PANGAEA)

"Well, it doesn't come without years of practice and studying," he tugged at the fingers of his gloves to be able to slide them off with ease, "and I'm a Trait Wielder so I suppose that gives me an advantage." In a swift movement he pointed to the mark that rested underneath his left eye before proceeding to step into the flames. "You'll have the basics down within a few weeks or a month perhaps," he assured, ripping the white fabric from his hands with a lingering grin on his lips just as he disappeared into the hearth.

"Ah, that would be me," a man around the wizards height stood, formally dressed with the same matching gloves as the wizard's. "He can't clean up his messes on his own," the man who she would come to see as a butler muttered. Gerald was no charm, nor was he as sprightly as the wizard.

She watched him closely. "N-Nice to meet you sir.." She Said softly looking around. "It does seem you keep this place in tip top shape if I may say.." She said with a slight smile. She fiddled with Mr. Orlitt's jacket awkwardly.

"It's not hard. He's hardly even around most of the time, but when he does decide to visit he leaves a mess in his wake," Gerald complained then took notice to the familiarity of her coat. "Alright, get to picking out a room," he nodded towards the stairs that led up to the hall, signalling that she go and pick a room of her choice. None of them were really used besides the piano room though they were all decorated flamboyantly.

She found one that reminded her of her room back home. IT was a simpler room with white walls, but still quite lavishly decorated. She took off the jacket and folded it on the bed. She looked at the bed, and crawled in immediately curled up with it. Snuggling under the blanket, she sighed for a minute before saying a mental thank you to Mr. Orlitt, before successfully falling asleep, curled up in the bed.

Unfortunately, dinner that night only consisted of Nelís and his butler due to his guest dozing off in the midst of finding her room. Of course he wouldn't wake her just to eat and instead concluded that they would resume their mingling the next day. The wizard didn't quite sleep however. He'd spent the night preparing some lessons for the girl that would be vital for magic use.

After a nights sleep, she was well rested and decided to apologize for skipping dinner the night before. Padding down the hall way to the front room in which they had entered yesterday, she searched for her Host with her hair slightly disheveled from the sleep.

The wizard was cooped up in his library until he heard her light steps that resounded through the halls and bounced off the walls. It couldn't have been Gerald since his pace was usually slow and his steps were heavy as well as untimely. Quickly he slid a paper he had been writing on into the book he currently had in hand before shutting it with a thunk, and sliding it onto a small stand that hoisted up a lamp beside him.

"Good morning," he called out before he was even in her sight. Finally he emerged from the hall to the zenith of his stairs and caught sight of her down below. She'd appeared fresh from the bed and he began his way down the steps. "Sleep well?" quickly he reached to his pocket where his gloves hung limply and snatched them out to slide them on.

She nodded shyly. "I did thank you...I wanted to apologize for missing dinner. It was rude of me to fall asleep." She murmured softly fiddling with her fingers shyly. She now felt self conscience in her wrinkled clothes from yesterday. "I'm really sorry..." She said softly.

He held up his hands in the middle of her jabbering, his gloves held by one of his thumbs. "Don't waste your breath, I understand you were tired," he resumed tugging on his signature gloves before meeting the base of the stairs, "but I imagine you're hungry since you didn't eat."

"y-yes sir.." She mumbled now feeling how hungry she really was. "May I ask you something?" She asked shyly. "I-if that's alight..."
Nelis Orlitt (played by PANGAEA)

He passed her an anxious gaze, but nodded in confirmation as he began to lead her up the stairs again where the two flights met to get to the dining room.

Following quietly, she fidgeted with her fingers. "W-Why do you wear those gloves all the time? I rarely see you with them off..." She said quite curiously.
Nelis Orlitt (played by PANGAEA)

The question brought a warm smile to his lips and he glanced down at his gloves, flexing his fingers underneath the soft fabric. "My magic tends to get through my skin, my hands being the main conductor of my magic," he informed, his smile never ceasing throughout. "It'll be very uncomfortable if I happen to accidentally touch someone- not for me- but for them, so I keep them on so those accidents won't happen."

She stared at her own hands. "W-Will I have to as well?" She asked very curious as to why he would smile if this was as serious as he made it seem. "O-Or will weird things happen to me? W-Will I sprout a tail?!" She squeaked turning to look at her back for any deformations that might occur, much like the ones she's read about in books back home.
Nelis Orlitt (played by PANGAEA)

"Of course you will, it comes with the magic," he may have been joking, but his face surely didn't show it. He proceeded on into the dining room where breakfast was already prepared on a large oblong table. Already it could be seen that she would be an interesting student to teach merely because she was highly gullible in his eyes.
