Summer sat down in the sandbox at the park with all the other kids, though none of them would play with her. She was always unusually quiet and wore clothes that most of the kids didn't. She had long white hair and bright red eyes, she wore a white kimono with black snowflakes falling on it. Soon all the other kids left but she didn't notice, just kept playing with the sand, not even thinking. The caretaker didn't care for Summer so she left her there and soon night fell upon her and she looked around for the others but no one was there so she just continued to play in the sand, not even a sign of fear on her face.

Chris was walking through the park, like he normally would. He often came by here when no one was around so he could be alone and at peace from anything and everything. For you see despite the fact he was an adult he still lived with his mother, that reason being was that his mother had five other kids in-between the ages of two to fifteen and it was alot of work for her to be doing given the fact their father had been dead for almost two and a half years now

Chris smiled looking at the trees and listening too the qui...Wait a second he thought... Was that the sound of something in the sandbox? He turned to his left to see the park he was passing by to see a girl... looking rather young infact alone in the sandbox. He had no clue who would leave their child alone out this late. he slowly walked upto the girl, and knelt down to her height and smiled "Hello... are you lost?" he asked tilting his head

Summer looked up at the man in front of her, blinking a couple times then shook her head. "No." She said then continued to play in the sand though there wasn't a smile on her face and a hint of joy in her eyes. She knew where she was and knew how to get back to the orphanage, but she didn't care to go back, she wanted to stay here where she was comfortable. The cold of the night didn't bother her even though all she wore was a kimono that had sand on most of it.

he looked around and then back at her with a puzzled look "What are you doing out this late?" he asks tilting his head "Its not safe for children to be out this late, trust me I have read quite a few stories on the matter" he says and looks over to make sure no one was stalking her after he had said that, then looked back at her, the Japanese attire had made her stand out more

"I like it out here, though. Its nice and quite and the other kids aren't around." She said, not looking up at the man next to her. There wasn't anyone else around that could be seen, though there was a demon waiting for Chris to leave so he could try to kill Summer for her strange power that she shouldn't have.

he nods and sits next to her, feeling that if he left her he would feel bad not knowing if she made it back home ok, Although he knew this sight would look, questionable if someone were to walk by. But he did not care, He wanted to be sure she would be ok "What are you making?" he asked tilting his head looking at what she was doing with the sand

"A snowflake." She said, continuing to make a pattern in the sand that seemed to stay in place some how. She didn't understand how this situation would be strange. She continued to make the pattern then looked up at the direction of where the demon was lurking. "Go away." She said, talking to the demon which only growled back at her, though she still had a blank face.

he smiled "its a lovely snowflake" he then notice her talking into the distance and looked over to the being which she asked to go away, When he saw the demon he jumped up and got into a defensive posture, How could she act so... Calm and collective around something as deadly as a demon? Who knows... All he knew was that he could not allow the demon to take this girl for whatever plans it had, He knew however that demons plans are always no good

Summer stared blankly at the demon in front of them. It looked more like a hell hound with thick black fur and bright red eyes that looked like lava. It stepped closer but then Summer stood up. "I said go away. You are a bad dog." She said and the temperature suddenly dropped much lower, to the point that snowflakes started to fall. Each snowflake that fell on the hell hound made it howl in pain as it cooled his temperature. Summer continued to simply watched the creature without a sign of pity or fear or anything.

his eyes went wide and he looked at the girl and tilted his head with a look of shock, Was she doing that? This was no normal girl it would seem. He looked back at the hound than back at her "Are you doing this?" he asked sounding shocked, He could hardly believe what was going on!

Soon the hell hound growled at her one more time before disappearing and then the snow stopped falling and quickly melted away. She looked up at the man and nodded. "Yes, hell hounds are weak to cold temperatures so I lowered the temperature around us and froze the soon to come rain." After she said that, it began to drizzle around them.

he notices the rain and looks at her "Do you have somewhere to live? Because I dont need you catching a cold" He says smiling, trying not to mention what happened, Even thought it shocked him quite a bit, He had a feeling she had been told about it enough already

Summer thought about and shrugged. "I stay with the orphanage here but I don't like it there. It's too loud and the kids are mean." She said, her voice still being monotone. She knew the rain wouldn't make her sick since the cold doesn't affect her but she didn't like being wet, it was an odd feeling while in a kimono.

he tilted his head "The kids are mean? how come and how so?" he asked looking like he was slightly angry, He was often bullied as a kid and as such was VERY against it. So much so that when he was older, He would beat up the bullies that bullied younger kids, Sure that did not really make him any better but it made him feel better at the time

Summer shrugged. "They don't like playing with me, saying that I am too quiet and look strange." She didn't seem to look upset by those words at all, her eyes still held no emotion and her face was blank. She didn't know if she should feel any way about all of that.

he was started to get a little paranoid at how... monotone she said everything and how emotions dont seem to effect her. He then shakes his head "Well you look fine to me" he says and rubs her forehead "tell you what..." he thinks back "How about... You come to stay with me?" He smiles "I can fill out the adoption papers... if you want" he says with a warm smile

Summer didn't react to the touch or what he had said at all, not even a smiled came to her lips at the thought of having a home and being away form the orphanage. "Nothing affects me, sir. I don't know how to feel these things many describe as 'emotions.'" She said calmly, as though this wasn't something strange at all.

he titled his head "Really?" He asked thinking how sometimes not having emotions would be good but... Never at all? He looks at her... Looking like he is thinking very hard about something. then smiles "I know! I could teach you how to feel!" he says smiling

Summer didn't understand what he had meant but didn't question it. "Okay, we better get out of the rain though." She thought of freezing the rain around them so that it didn't land on them but then it started pouring down and that would take much longer to do.

he smiles and takes her hand and looks at her "lead me to your orphanage and I will take care of the rest" he says smiling, He wanted to get her out of that awful place and he wanted to teach her how to feel. She needed to know how to feel to know how to react, and how to act on instinct
