Summer nodded and started walking towards where the orphanage was. It wasn't too long of a walk, though it gave her time to think as to why this man was smiling so much, she hadn't even known his name either. "Uh, sir, I believe that you have not given me you name."

he smiles "Chris Vadamee" He says and looks at her and smirks, "What about you? whats your name?" he asks opening the orphanage door and walking in, He looked for the front desk, and once he spotted it he walked upto it and waited for the person to speak

"Summer Winterson." She answered as they entered. There was a lady at the desk that looked surprised to see them. She knew Summer but didn't pay much attention to her. "Oh, you found her? The caretaker had said that all the kids she took to the park had came back. Thank you sir for bring her back, I'll take care of her, don't worry." She said with a s friendly smile and stood up to bring Summer back to where all the other kids were.

"Actually..." He said putting an arm infront of her "I would like to adopt this girl" he says smiling "I have always wanted too take care of a child" He says with a look of friendliness and looks at Summer "And I have already spent sometime getting to know her"

The woman seemed surprised by this but smiled at him and got the paper work out. "We just need you to sign these papers and Summer can go gather her stuff." Summer nodded and went to where her bed was and started to get her stuff together.

He looked at the paper and began signing things "Full name... Chris Vadamee.... Age...twenty one and a half... Job... Electric Engineer..." he said listing off the things he had to sign and after he was done he handed her the paper "Is there anything else?" he asked tilting his head

The woman dug through some papers and pulled out a few things. "These are her birth certificate, medical records, and the names of her living relatives." She said as Summer walked up with her things with her, which wasn't much.

he smiles and takes them from her and looks at Winter smiling "ready to go?" he asks kneeling down to her height and smiles "Also do you need help with your things?" he asks tilting his head

Summer shook her head. "I can carry my stuff, it isn't a lot." She had a small music box in her hands and a blanket that was draped on her left arm. That was all she owned, her parents couldn't leave her anything else because they were killed before they could make a will with her name in it, these were just items that they gave to her as a baby. "I'm ready to go."

he smiles and nods and walks outside and begins to walk to his house "So tell me Summer... How old are you?" he asks stopping at a traffic light

Summer walked beside him in the rain. "I'm six." She said was she walked, trying to shield in music box form the rain with her blanket.

he smiles "I see" he says and then walks again holding her hand so he did not lose her "So tell me, Would you like to know how to feel? I could teach you how to? or at least most of them" he says smiling and turns around to make sure she was still behind him

Summer still stayed beside him and thought about his question then shrugged. "I guess so, I don't really know if it would be bad or good for me." She was majorly trying to think if having emotions would be good or bad or both. She has seen the other kids laugh, cry, get mad, and scream out of fear, though she hadn't felt any of those emotions whatsoever.

he smiles "Emotions are good, It will help you not get teased because you will know how to respond to questions and things that happen" he says and then looks at her and laughs "Though, lots of time things have more than just a one way response from emotions, Like kissing someone, That has many ways someone could react depending on if that person likes it or not" he says and then turns back to look forward

"Emotions create reactions, but ideas are what formulate likes and dislikes. Experiences create ideas and feelings towards the ideas. If something good happens, there will be a positive reaction form who it happens to depending on what it is and if they have had good experiences with it." Summer had just when thinking out loud at this point, trying to figure out these things called emotions and possible reasons why she didn't seem to have any.

he laughs in amazement "Wow, for someone who does not have emotions... you sure know alot about them" he says and they continue down the path and he looks at her "So tell me Summer, how come you control snow when your name is Summer" he asks playfully elbowing her "sorry if that offended you.." he says rubbing the back of his head

"You watch, you learn." Summer said, it was a simple statement but something most people couldn't realize it as well as she could. "I control heat as well. My mother was a water nymph and my father was a fire demon, I'm able to control the temperatures around us to extreme heat and blustering cold." She in a monotone voice.

he nods "I noticed that... you were not human" he says recalling the devil dog "So I assume you got your red eyes from your father?" he asks as he saw his house down the street "A few more minutes..." he says smiling and made sure they were not being followed and slows his pace and looks around carefully and listened to make sure they were not being followed for sure

Summer could tell by the heat signature around them that they were not being followed but she said nothing about it. "Yes, I did." She reached into her kimono and pulled out a small photo, slightly burned around the edges and handed it to him. "That's them along with me as a baby." She said, no emotion still showing in her eyes.

Chris nodded slowly. He took the picture in, wondering how something like this could happen... or even work for that matter. He shook his head gently, he waited at a light for it to go red so they could cross the street. He looked over his shoulder at her "I guess this means you and your parents are at a disagreement then?" he asked with a very curious tone.
