So I woke up to this in my e-mail box this past evening:
Humble Bundle Weekly Bundle: RPG Maker
For those that don't know, RPG Maker is a great piece of software that makes building a basic RPG relatively easy (with time, effort, and some planning, of course). I've been playing around with it, and while it seems simplistic on the surface there is a lot that can be done with it. Some have even tailored their projects into adventure games, minigames, and graphic novels. When you know what you want and what you're doing, it can be quite versatile And for the price HB is asking ( less than $6 USD for the basic grade, with a $1 minimum ) it is definitely worth a try; RPG Maker VXA alone goes for $70 retail, while XP is ~$25, not even counting the content packs + games tossed in.
Please note: I will give a few disclaimers for this. Firstly, it does take effort to get started with RPG Maker, and you will likely stumble around blindly quite a bit before you get your first Event working properly. That's pretty much how programming works anyhow, to be honest. However, you will get used to it after a while - it just takes practice and dedication. As well, being professional-grade software, there are copyrights and trademarks to consider - not necessarily for the base programs, but for add-on materials that may be used with them.
In addition, you'll need a Steam account and access to a Windows PC running XP or later (not Mac or Linux) to use most of the things in this bundle. As well, the offer may not be available in all countries, so if you get blocked from buying it there's not much one can do. That's just how it goes

About Humble Bundle
Humble Bundle is a great way to get games (both PC on multiple platforms, as well as mobile-based), software, e-books and such on the cheap - literal hundreds off in some cases - while supporting charities at the same time. You can pay as much or as little as you want for the software, and it can be downloaded through Steam (most common way for games/software) or straight to your computer (DRM-free-indicated items), no strings nor "special offers" attached. Even moreso is the fact that your contribution can be split evenly, more for the developers, more for HB, more for charity, or a custom split!
There's no sign-ups needed, although if you want to keep track of your purchases it's highly recommended that you do, and you can pay several ways (credit card, PayPal, Google Checkout, or Amazon Payments - even BitCoins apparently~). The only thing they will ever bug you with are what new Bundles are coming out, and those can easily be cancelled; your info remains confidential, and you can do as you please with the purchases you get - even give away the Steam codes or downloads to friends if you'd like or already have that game/item! Mobile purchases can be downloaded from their App Store/Google Play app for easy access to them.
There's even a store now where you can get stuff on the cheap, both through Steam and from DRM-free sources (usually directly from the developer themselves!). And again, they won't sell your info nor bug you about stuff that isn't related to their offers, which is very courteous

That makes me regret how much I already paid for it and some add-ons. XP
