Aiden didn't respond to the first statement. There wasn't much to say. Or at least for a moment or two there wasnt. But the boy did speak up seconds later and said "there's no way to find out about me" he said. He had no records, no birth certificate, no friends, nothing. Aidens eyes shot to the sidewalk, and he jumped back skittle from the clawing hand that belonged to an elderly. He backed up a bit when the bullet was shot, and his eyes darted to Sam. He was quiet for many seconds, but in end all he said is "there is no true escape from this hell...."
Sam could tell this place had torn the childhood out of this boy, he was nothing but a hollow shell of the kid he once was. It was sad and a bit scary, what if all psychopaths started out like Aiden? Trapped in this physical manifestation of death? What did that mean for him the? He thought it best not to dwell on it.
"The hospital is a good place to start, it's how I got back last time," Thorne was trying to stay positive for the boy, between being home and being thrown back into hell I'll put my officers on the hunt for where you came from." He tried to smile for the boy as he walked towards where he thought the hospital had been but to be honest he had no idea where it really was.

Waiting for the Easter bunny on Easter, Lighting fireworks on the fourth of july, and watching as they shot into the sky and watched as they exploded into a rainbow of shattering light. Waving goodbye to your parents on the first day of school, and boarding the school bus. Raking the leaves of Autumn and jumping into them just for fun, blowing out the candles and making a wish on your birthday, playing in the snow of winter, and opening Christmas presents on Christmas day after Santa had visited. Most children lived that life as a starter, but sadly this child had not got that kind of joy, or happiness, or opportunity.
His life had been a down hill slope since the day of his birth. Gifted the name Aiden by the lurking shadows of the darkness, and raised in this hellhole, it was no wonder he feared alot of things, wasnt very social, and looked like a restless, pale, scarred child if one thought about it. But alas he was still living. Maybe someday things could change for the better.
Aiden looked at Sam, and nodded an okay. His face showed near to no expression, but his eyes hid just a teeny tiny spark of hope. But that hope was wavering, like he hoped this man could help, but his thoughts said he cant.
After a mere moment of hesitance, Aiden followed Sam, but kept a distance away. Like somewhere deep inside, he believed if anyone came near him they'd get hurt somehow.

It was a bit of a hike to the hospital so Sam decided to try and brighten the mood in this dark place since there didn't seem to be much activity as of yet. "Hey do you know what the name Aiden means?" Sam had been looking threw a baby book when his son was born, since then his now x-wife had taken him and moved somewhere, Sam had forgotten.
"It means little flame, you like Frodo's sword, or Rudolf's nose," the detective tried to think of more a agonize a kid his age would know of but none came to mind, "your going to light the way, you'll be different, you won't end up like the people eternally trapped here," Sam smiled for a moment, "I promise."
Detective Thorne looked up, they had walked around the arm trees but now it seemed ever undead nightmare Thorne had escaped from before were swarming the hospital, "son of a," even after all this Thorne tried to sensor himself for the kid, "son of a door nob..." He laughed it was stupid as was this situation, "any plans little man?"

Aiden walked in complete silence, except for the faint sound of his shoes making contact with the ground. When Sam asked a question he looked up at him. Did he know what Aiden meant? No, no he didn't. And so, he shook his head.
Aiden looked down, he didn't know his name was so strong. That it had a meaning, never the less a mewing that wonderful. The faintest of smiles cross his lips, it was just barely there, but the thing that mattered was it was there. "Thank you Sam. Now I have something to hold onto" he said. No mattered what happened, he could remember that promise, and know one day he wouldn't end up like the other people here.
After they arrived Aiden looked up at the hospital, then at Sam, he didn't have to censor. It was no surprise that this teenager knew about every work in the book. From reality, and here.

"Your silence tells me you have no plan," he looked around, "how mad do you think this world is?" The dark shadowy sun smoked over head the hospital, Sam pointed his gun at it and fired! Click, click Boom! Click, click Boom! the sun popped like a balloon raining molten fire down on the hospital and small waves followed!
"Sorry Kid!" Sam didn't have time to argue he picked up Aiden leaving his gun and rushed into a building he jumped barely avoiding the burning lava filling the streets and smashed threw a window, boy in hand. Lights flickered as the glass broke and by the time Sam hit the floor he was back inside reality, still holding Aiden.
A burning car lay outside, in reality when the car crashed Sam had flown threw the windshield and landed here. People gathered around unable to decider where the boy came from, Sam chuckled, "Well that's one way to get back."

"More then you think" was all the kid said. He watched ad the bullets flew towards the Rin, and upon impact made the sun explode into a shower of flames. He didn't even know that was possible, but then again, the madest of things happen here. With his focus on the falling flames, he was rather surprised when Sam picked him up, without a mere second to react. Aiden looked around, and simply out of mere instinct he covered his head with his hands before they smashed thriu the glass of the window, before they hit the ground. Aiden opened his eyes and looked around, they were back in reality, for now of course. His eyes went back o the burning car, it seemed to have drawn a lot of attention while they were gone.
Sam told the medics on sight to check out Aiden for any cuts or burns, as for himself he went straight for his fellow officers, "you must go to that orphanage on, 75th and Cicero, this boys name is Aiden unknown last name," Sam gestured for the cops to be righting this all down, he had no idea when he would be flung back into the devoid world.
"Find out anything and everything you can about where he came from," Sam turned back to make sure the medics were treating the boy for any injury, "I need this information asap." As the cops scurried away Sam noticed again he was covered in his own blood but no markings, looking back at the medics they were finding the same thing had happened to Aiden, "so she wasn't a twin?" Either this case was falling together or his sanity was falling apart... Maybe both.

Aiden obviously didn't seem to keen on the fact the medics would be looking at him, and more then likely coming near him. Never had he trusted medics, or anybody up to this point. He once had one friend, until they got drsgged off into the shadows, and tortured right before his eyes. Sam had been the second person to almost gain his trust, but the medics would NEVER gain his trust.
Aidens eyes slowly went to the blood they were finding on him, but no wound source. "Hey Sam" he said quietly, but enough to get his attention without looking at him of anything. "You say your a detective correct? Then answer me this. What if there is a story behind these unwounded messes" he asked reffering to the blood with no source. "What if when you leave that place, if harms you. What if when you get hurt there, you get hurt here, but with no trace?" He asked, throwing his thouts out there.

Thorne smiled opening his note book in his direction showing a fairly complex penciled in diagram, "exactly what I was thinking little man." He turned the book around and began to read, "theory of Seattle murder," Sam began to walk towards where Aiden was being treated, "if Jane Doe was for some reason touched by whatever put Aiden in this realm but wasn't capable of avoiding the obstructions such as the skinless and the tree arms, not only would her body spear with no blood, but the form that she took in that realm may have found it's way back as well..."
Sam was stumped but how was their two bodies? Two different hearts, identical yes but could her consciousness have manifested or was that too crazy? "I'm still working on it but it's a start!"

Aiden looked back at Sam, and saw the notebook with a penciled diagram written on it. He listened very closely as Sam read from the notebook, expressing the thoughts he ha put down as if it were a journal. To the public his statements would sound false, but to Aiden based of his standards of witness and past, he believed what this man was teaching to be completely possible, rather then false. As soon as he was done reading, Aiden began to wonder. But it was just a teenagers thoughts, not that he expected an adult to believe all his opinions. "Do you believe your physical body enters that world?" He asked. It was plain to see on both they levels that it seemed it didn't. Seeing Sam after wards had awoke in the hospital that time before last time, and Aiden had awoke in his room. "If the physical body doesn't make it, what part would? A consciousness? a soul? Memories?"
Sam was stumped, he had no idea. Could we each have another representation of ourselves in that world opposed to this one and out consciousness switches between them or was the consciousness manifested in a physical form in the Mad World. "I... I actually have no idea Aiden," Sam paused, "What do you think?" He opened his note pad again pulling out a pencil.
Aiden quietly sighed. These questions were pestering him, and the answers were taunting him. "I'm not sure" he confessed when Sam asked him if he knew. What he thought. Aiden simply out of a bad habit and the fact nobody ever told him not to do it, he lightly began to chew his middle finger nail. He looked down thoughtfully. "What if all three could happen, but only to certain people, but if right, why only certain specific people-" he paused and looked Sam in the eye, "might we have anything in common?" He asked. Maybe the consciousness and memories could carry on with the soul, manipulating logic, and forming its own way of things.
Throne couldn't think of anything that could connect him to this kid. He knew more about this kid that probably anyone else in the entire world but to be honest he still knew nothing at all. "I don't know kid," the detective sat down next to him as the EMT's left the scene, "I don't know what connection would help, were both caucasian, males, who are currently in Seattle, Washington."
He tried to think of more stuff but it was difficult, "your an orphan I grew up in foster care... My dad decided he could afford me once I turned four..." There had to be more thought. Thorne thought and thought looking at Aiden as he did, studying the boys features. "Don't worry by this time tomorrow my detectives will have dug up the info on your parents!"

The boy watched as Sam came snd sat down next to him, it looked away. For now he wouldnt mind this to much so long as Sam didnt touch him. Aiden listened as Sam talked, naming the things they had in common. Both of them were caucasion males, located in Seattle, Washington. He looked down at his pale hand, the one he wasent preoccupied with. It so much paler then that of Sam's complexion. But the other two facts were true.
Sam was lucky. He got to grow up around his parents at least a little while. Aiden however didn't even get to meet his parents. He didn't know what they looked like, or who they were. Even their names were a long lost memory, never to be remembered. Aiden felt both jealously, yet sadness over that fact. Aiden looked at Sam, and nodded a faint okay, before looking away again, and he stopped chewing his fingernail, and put his hand down, for now..Soon he'd know about his parents, that is, if he ever even had any..

The detectives phone buzzed, "come on Aiden," Sam said standing up, "let's get out of here, we will rest a but in the police station, the two walked outside and an officer offered them a ride, after what happened last time Thorne turned the offer down. It was only a few blocks to the station anyway, and it looked like Aiden could use a bit of sun anyway.
They walked a block up cut across a block then down two more. They weren't to far away from the station when he saw it. A dis-colored tile on the pavement, he held his arm out to stop Aiden. A deli was infront of this tile and the lights in the deli past where this tile lay were all flickering, "ok, ok, ok," the detective said excitedly, "us is another one of those gate ways to the Mad World." Just a name he had been calling it in his journal entries. "What make this area different from where we're standing?" He studied the surroundings being careful not to even have a limb pass the threshold.

Aidens eyes shot to Sam when he heard the vibration of the phone. He was paranoid. It was plain to see, but could one blame him for begin paranoid? No, no they could not. Aiden looked away after a moment, nodded once, and stood up as well. He followed behind Sam, and kept his gaze down when a police officer offered them a ride. He was afraid Sam would accept, but to his liking Sam denied.
He followed behind his semi friend, being awfully quiet. Maybe there wasent much to say, or at least nothing for him alone to say. He stopped and looked up when Sam stopped him, and his eyes went to the tile. It was different from the rest. The gateway to the Mad World. Ironic. He always reffered to it as that, and now here he heard the man beside him calling it by the same title. "I'm not sure..." Aiden said. He could see more then what Sam could see, but not even he was sure.

He looked at any possible way to go around it, "my contacts haven't gotten back to me," he said to Aiden. "I don't know what you want to do, because I don't know how to avoid this." Thorne looked around but he was really confused, how could there just be a line where things turned bad. Was it really that black and white of a concept? Maybe there is only one gateway but it shifts around the world and it just happened to be passing threw the city.
"Some things cant be avoided" He said quietly. Just the quiet tone made it creepy the way he said it. There was no emotion or feeling in his tone. No approval, no fear, no boredom, no nothing. Not even his face held much emotion right now. Creepy.
More then likely the line was a different concept then what Sam believed it to be. Maybe it was a black white, and grey concept. White for reality, grey for the mad world, and black for something far much worse, which would have to be pretty worse to be the grey category. But the only question was, how could they decide which theory was correct? Or were both wrong?

Sam walked foward passing through the dim threshold of insanity once more. "Naked skinless giants walked the streets, only muscle mass and bone showing. One looked down at him and reached for him, "damn, no weapon!" Last time he was here he had left his shot gun, and as for his pistol it was back in the realities police station.
The giant smashed it's hand threw a window barely missing the detective, "Aiden. You in yet?" Thorne yelled hoping the boy wouldn't have entered now that this enemy was present. A foot stomped shaking the ground and the giant stooped down getting a grasp on Sam. As it lifted him up he could see the giant had no ears and only had empty bleeding holes where its eyes should be. It smiled and tossed the detective into it's mouth... "Noooooo!!!!"
