Aiden wasnt sure rather or not Sam was even alive, despite the fact this was reality. Then again, the more he thought about it the more impossible it sounded. Maybe a part of Sam could have died, but not the physical, reality, him. Aiden sighed quietly, and began to walk away from the church. He never wanted to go into that church to begin with, but he was forced to, he didn't want to to through with an exorcism believing it would fail Which it did, but he was forced to. He looked down, and kicked a rock as he went. Completely unaware that Sam was on the way, great, just lovely...
The car sped down the road turning a few times. Dodging the legs of skinless giants that walked threw the streets. He even began to doubt one demon could do this, "is hell itself raising up?" Sam asked himself, truly wondering if this was the start of the end of days. The car turned a corner and smashed threw a gate, the inner wall. Sam was getting closer and closer.
Buildings looked like they had broken part the tops floating in the sky! Some were even suspended mid air, "what the?" He asked, screeching to a halt. There was too much daubery, they were on the churches street though! He got out and took the shot gun out as well. Two shells in the shot gun, five shots in the pistol, he was ready for an exorcism... But this time he'd do it his way!

He kept his gaze on the sidewalk, not looking up at the madness and chaos around him. He kicked the rock along the sidewalk as he went. He was deep in thought about things, almost in a spacing out kind of way. Despite everything, he still wasent fond of the madness, it as something he could go without, but couldn't. He was forced to endure it, and worse, now there was no ****ing semi sanctuary, there was no reality. Reality to him used to be the place where he felt alittle safe, seeing there was some sanity there. However something did snap him from hie thoughts, and he looked up alittle, the sound of a car screeching to a stop in the disance behind him. Not far. He looked back to see-- seeing if there was a wreck, or if somebody had a reason to stop. In the far distance he saw Sam, who wasent dead it seemed, though seeing Aiden didnt trust him now, he tried to run off, the sound of footsteps on the pavement could be heard.
Sam was madness free, who knew all you had to do was die. He saw Aiden running in the distance and shot his pistol. Bang! He missed, Bang!! Bang!!! The boy dropped to the ground Thorne was unsure where he had hit the boy but as the bullet made contact all the monsters that occupied reality turned their attention to the boy as if they were some how bound to protect him. Sam ran to the fallen child, "Trust me kid," He pointed his pistol at the boy's face with an apologetic look on his face.
Every part of him knew this was wrong in every way, but after dying himself it was the only option he could think of. If it worked like it did on him the boy would wake up somewhere else, he'd be able to live a regular life with a new father. "May the power of christ compel you," the detective said aiming at Aiden's forehead.
Bang...

Bang...
Aiden had managed to dodge two of the bullets, but one got him in the leg, and he fell. Sam..had shot him. Sam, actually, shot him. He lay there on the ground on his side, holding his wound, the blood seeping its way through his jeans and onto his hands. Just because he wasent fully human, didn't mean he couldn't feel pain, and to him this pain was new, and intense. He had never been shot before..
He looked up at Sam, seeing the pistol pointed at him, he looked away. "All humans are the same" he said quietly, "sons of bitches that just give a damn about themselves.." he said. It was plain to see that this boy had a hatred for people inside him now. Especially for the people who meant him harm. It wasent directed at everyone, just some people.
His eyes looked back at the gun, and they stayed locked on the pistol, despite what he said, it was obvious he was scared. He fliched when he watched Sam pull the trigger...but nothing hit him, he opened his eyes and looked up to see that little girl he kept serving standing there. Had she taken the shot? It seemed so, but one bullet didn't seem to bother her.
It was like she knew what would happen if Aiden got shot..and despite what Sam may think, it wouldn't be anything good.
"Consider your decession" the what looked like an innocent girl told Sam. Sam had died in the mad world, and this was reality despite what it may seem..

He needed to kill this version of Aiden, he stepped through the girl and realized for some odd reason this ghostly girl had kept the bullet from hitting its mark. The skinless giants surround Sam closing in fast, he knelt down putting his knee on Aiden's chest and the barrel of his gun with it's final bullet directly upon his forehead. He will wake up, he will wake up, "Don't be afraid," Sam used his other hand to grip his friends neck holding the boy in place, "this will not be the last time we speak, find me!"
BANG!!! Brain particles splattered everywhere separating the top half of Aiden's skull from his head but no blood, not a single drop! It had worked! Or had it? The dark entity that the kid had once turned into oozed like smoke out of the dead boy's body, without Aiden around it looked like it wanted to take Thorne over as it's host! Sam's pistol clicked, it was empty he cast it aside, pulling out his shot gun! Click, click...
BOOM! He knew it had been a waste of ammo and another shot wouldn't do any thing but waste the last shell. He dropped the shot gun last shot inside, "You won't be torturing my friend any long!" He said as the entity looked like it was about to strike him.

(To me that demons still Aiden, so I get to be him)
Aidens face paled when Sam planted his knee on his chest and he felt the cold barrel on his forehead. He looked at Sam with light grey eyes, "I hate you" he told him, before Sam pulled the trigger. His eyes had been that lifeless grey, so it was Aiden himself that said he hated Sam. The boy was dead..maybe
The little girl looked at Sam, "you've made a foolish mistake" she told him.
The demon looked at Sam a moment, if one looked closely, for a split second it looked like Aiden, except in a shadow form. Could this be a 'soul' to Aiden? Had this demon been like a soul to him? Is that why back in the church he even said "Heavens gates will never open up for me... It looked like a smokey looking shadow version of Aiden, except it had the wings, and horns, and the two little fangs. It starred at Sam, almost tempted, but looked to the sky, as if it had other plans. It spread its wings and took to the sky where it disappeared, or stleast became mostly unseeable. The ground began to violently shake, and fire began to rain from the sky. This was like the end of the world. With only one target. Sam.
"I warned you" the little girl said. The boy was better off being left alone. That's why before he met Sam he did stay alone.

The fire balls began to crash against the ground destroying buildings and skinless giants alike, but for some reason Sam was calm, if you were to ask him how or why he wouldn't even begin to understand it himself. "your finished..." It was as if this demon inside Aiden was a strong one beaconing challenges and every angsty foe collided in the form of Sam.
He could feel his body being ripped apart as the evil spirits clashed within his body, this would most likely end up killing him. He thought of his wife living in northern montana and his son Samuel Jordan Thorne II, "Sorry I could say good bye buddy..." The detective grew winds of black and red, "You know me, I need to find every piece of the puzzle or I'll go mad..."
Devil horns grew from his body as his muscles tightened and his body size doubled. "So what I want to tell you is," fangs tore through his face, and white eyes (no pupils) looked up at Aiden's demon, "Good bye Sammy." Thorne was dead, a lifeless body empowered by evil had torn up his insides. His consciousness lingered as a trapped ghost just to witness his own demise. But If he was truely a dead man he would take Aiden's horrors with him.

The fire rained down from the skies, as if Aiden was taking his fears, anger, hate, disappointment, stress, worries, and every other negative word out on the world. But overall...Madness. This was the real him. This was him when he had no consciousness to tell him he was doing wrong. This was Aiden unleashed. He had nothing holding back how he felt. He had grew up in hell, so why shouldn't everyone else?! This is what lied beyond those light lifeless grey eyes. It seemed he wouldn't stop, unless somebody stopped him, but would he even listen then? He was still him, he was just missing his conciousness and his body. He had his memories, and his thoughts, so he could comprehend things, but did it occur to him...just how much damage he had caused...just because...... he thought he made a ...friend..
The giant beast soared upward bursting threw flaming meteors and other rubble that fell from above he drove over of its big claw like hands through the demon child. Within him a glowing orb of white, more like light teal but it was Aiden's spirit his soul. The beast tried to rip the soul out from inside the demon but it was no use. It was stuck after years and years of depression and melding together with the madness of the other world. "Aiden," a dark voice from within Sam grumbled, "please... let go of your hate and sadness, just let go!"
The demon child starred at Sam, he could feel him trying to get his soul, but it was no use. It was trapped. Trapped by his emotions and feelings. The demon tried to push Sam away, "let go!" He yelled, it had Aidens voice, just alittle colder and intimidating, but where he had hold of him by the soul, it didn't seem Sam was going anywhere. The child was trying to block Sam out, not wanting to listen.
The demons collective embrace of sheer power and madness created an immense explosion taking out a good chunk of the city. In the defense of Sam and Aiden the creatures of the Mad world had torn apart anything the blast radius hit anyway. And the two characters stood alone, no longer in the city but in on a sandy beach where short waves stroked the sea side. Could this be death? Aiden didn't belong here, or maybe it wasnt death at all.
With the power of the demon Aiden created the Mad World possibly out of his imagination, maybe this was Sam's version, it was the opposite of the boys darkness, "Aiden, please listen to me," Thorne said calmly, "I set you free, there is no need to hang on to your hate, your sorrow, your fear." He smiled at the boy, Aiden reminded him of Sammy. Not all depressed but the smart but remarks and sarcasm, this boy needed to be saved.

The young boy looked around, then looked down. His wings and horns returned to him, making him look like a shadow version of Aiden. It had his face, his eyes, his hair, his clothes. He looked just like Aiden, and maybe it was Aiden. It was like the madness and evil couldn't reach him here. This was actually quite sad. "What would happen if I did?" He asked, his feelings still lurking inside him. He felt if he let it go, his existence would be over. His body had already been shot in the forehead by a gun, so it wasent like he could go back to it..
"That was only your mad world body? Where is your real one?" Thorn asked, if it had been his real one blood would have sprayed out of his head when he had shot the boy. "This didn't kill you it gave you the power to free your soul from this demonic creature who is making you believe you are!" Thorne touched the boy's shoulder lightly and the darkness and horns and fangs and wings all faded away in the light of his touch. "You are Aiden, you are the little flame."
Aiden shrugged lightly. He didn't know. He honestly didn't know that even the bodies were separated. His undemonic soul would probably find its own way back once it was released. He looked down and closed his eyes thoughtful. Thinking over what Sam said. He opened his eyes, "will I remember everything once this is over?" He asked like he thought Sam might know. Or would he forget, seeing the demon, in a way, was him..would it acquire his memories once he let go of his hatred and all?
Sam let go of Aiden and the darkness that once consumed the boy now consumed the detective. "I hope you don't remember anything, I hope you forget my name," Samuel Jordan Thorne the first faded away as did everything lights got really bright and the clock tick by faster and faster a day flew by, then a week then a month. A coma had kept Aiden in a hospital bed as the government cleaned up the city. Memories, shadows, and demons all taken away from Aiden. Above him stood the girl who was killed in the Mad World's father. He smiled down at Aiden as he woke up, how you feeling young sir, ready to come home? Ready to have a real family??
Aiden looked up at Sam, "goodbye, Sam" he said with a faint smile, but a hint of sadness soon replaced it. He wouldn't remember him, or the mad world, or anything that had happened. He wondered if he'd forget his whole life, or just things linked to the mad world. Would his life start anew again for the second time? Only the hands of time could tell. He felt everything start to fade round him into white, leaving him with one last word, Goodbye...
--
His vision became nothing more then a white blur, and he slowly opened his eyes, and looked around, and his eyes slowly looked up at the man, unsure who exactly he was. The boy didn't respond to him, honestly, not sure what to say..

I knew you're mother, your sister was my daughter. We are all that we have left of each other, the man said, I am in the process of finalizing the adoption, I will make sure none of this madness will ever happen again... The man smiled seeing the boys resistance he knew that his amounts of money wouldn't cure a child of his dark past, but something about this child seemed fresh to him, new, empty and ready for a new beginnings.
Aiden played close attention to the man. The boy sat up, looking down. He remembered some stuff, yet in a way he felt, empty, like something was missing, like he had forgotten something but couldn't remember what it was. Maybe he forgot one this, maybe he forgot more then one thing, he wasent sure.
He had forgotten everything relating to the mad world, every single thing linked to it. The church, the exorcism, his childhood nightmares, the visions he always saw, his sister..and even Sam. But he remembered everything else, it wasent much, but it was something. But for some reason, he remembered one thing linked to the mad world, only one thing. The thing Sam said about his name. That he was a little flame that would light the way, but he didn't recall the voices owner.
Aiden looked up at the man with light grey eyes that didn't hold that of misery, hatred, just confusion, and emptiness. Maybe it was for the best that he lost his memory... some of it..
