"You've just started working at a job in which you just simply watch the footage from the security cameras that monitor the city park. The only other person who watches with you has been there many more years before you, and has told you that no matter what happens you do what he says, but your not sure why, but your soon to find out." - The prompt for this rp, not really sure how this thing works yet so if I'm slow just know...and from what I've seen from other forums I'll just kinda put my first post under this...wooo...I hope I don't **** this up haha

Oliver stared blankly at the monitors in front of him, not really paying attention to that. He was more anxious for the arrival of the new girl they'd hired; this was going to be an absolute drag. But at least he didn't have to sit next to Reggie for 8+ hours anymore, working with him was like working with a 13 year old kid. Every now and then he'd swivel his chair a bit to the side to check the door even though that wouldn't tell him if someone was arriving or not, he'd be able to tell from the sound of the door simply opening. But he couldn't help it.

Soon enough, Valerie had knocked on the door before peeking inside. "Hello?" She asked shyly. "I-i don't know if I'm In the right place...." She mumbled embedded. The map the lady at the service center didn't help at all. She even feared She would be late due to how many times She got flipped around. "I'm looking for the security room?"
Oliver quickly turned around in his swivel chair, an awkward and obviously forced smile on his face. "Well you found it. I'm guessing your uh...shit..what did they say your name was...Vanessa? Valerie?" He asked, uncertainty in his voice.
"Valerie.." She said quickly. "People call me Val. " She said coming In and quietly closing the door behind her. "so together must be Oliver?" She asked holding her hand out. "It's a easier Mr. Warren. "
"You're much better with names than I am.." he mumbled a bit as he shook her hand. "Alright, if you'll take a seat," Oliver motioned to the swivel chair to his left, "we've got things to discuss. Although I'm sure they've given you some kind of idea or training pertaining to how this equipment works, I have no idea. They did when I applied but that was at least ten years ago..."
She gave a small laugh. "I see how that could slip ones mind." She said watching the monitors closely. "I have had training dealing with this equipment." She said taking the chair next to him.
"Goood, then you know what we do is pretty damn simple. In fact we mostly just sit around all day until Donna and Gage come in for the graveyard shift. Hence the minifridge over there," he nodded his head to the right, "I've gained a bit of weight due to this job." Oliver grumbled, though he supposed it wasn't too bad, he was a bit lankey before anyway. "So there's just one thing you really have to know."
"What's that?" She asked cocking her head to the side In curiosity.
"In order to keep this job, you have to trust me. You have to do everything I say, even of it seems wrong or immoral. And I know trusting aomeone you barely know can be difficult, but we'll have a lot of time to get to know each other...also, if city officials ever come in, don't talk. Ever. Let me do that." Oliver didn't look at her as he spoke.
She blinked In surprise. Never had She been told to just sit back and wait. "What? Why? Won't people get hurt? Or us fired?" She said turning to him In the chair.
"I've been doing this for over ten years, trust me . Eventually you'll get why, I'm nit that found of it myself but its how things work and I've learned to live with it." Oliver leaned back in his chair. "Trust me."
She narrowed her eyes at him In both confusion and irritation. He expected her to follow these rules without knowing Why? That seemed unorthodox. "Fine." She said softly turning towards the screen.
"Sorry kid, I don't know how to explain it to you but you'll get it soon enough. Maybe even today, but I'm hoping something wont happen so soon." Oliver glanced at her, "you handle things better than me. When I first got here, Neil, the guy before the guy you replaced, told me that and I flipped. I didn't like following rules too much. But it grows on you. "
She shrugged. "Im Used to following orders without question. It comes naturally now...." She mumbled. "Doesn't mean that I agree with it though."
"Yeah...enough of this work stuff...tell me about yourself." He said quickly, wanting a change of subject.
"There's not much to tell..." She said putting her hands behind her head in a bored fashion. "I'm adopted, lived on my own for awhile..Pretty average."
"Nobody is average, sweetie.." Oliver sat up for a moment, watching something on one of the monitors. For a moment he swore he saw something. "Got a boyfriend? Hobbies?" He asked, more trying to distract her now.
"No. I like dancing..." She said tilting her head back. "That's about it."
"Oh come on...there's gotta be more than that..." Oliver shook his head, pulling his attention away from the screen. Nothing, not yet.
"I dance...That's all I've ever done." She said with a slight smile. "I teach classes during the day."
