Our Discussion topic is up, and I'd like some thoughts, so please view and respond to it at your leisure.

Heya, folks!

So I'm terribly interested in starting up a supernatural-western themed RP, set in some small up-and-coming town in a territory and its surrounding areas. It wouldn't be terribly heavy on the supernatural elements in public; folks know of demons, elves, vampires, witches, wendigos, and so on, but those folks or groups extruding supernatural traits tend to be kept under wraps or are hunted down by the authorities/hunters.

I do not mind some violence and swearing, since this IS the West, but we need to remember to keep things PG-13 since I intend to make this here on the forums.

I'll be looking for:

• A group-of-people rp (as opposed to an RPR Group), around five to six players (including myself)! Something not too big so we don't get bogged down if we need to wait on someone to post.
• all sorts of roles to be filled--outlaws, sheriffs, judges, natives, saloon gals, &c! As for myself, knowing me I'll be rehashing one of my characters temporarily for this sort of thing (1. because I'm lazy & 2. I like playing out Alternate Universes), but I've got a sheriff or a young, naive city-slicker-sent-westward in mind for myself.
• Literacy! I'm looking for minimal typos and your best efforts when you write, please.
• Length: I am not picky here. If it takes you a paragraph to advance the story, great. If it takes ten, great. If it takes three sentences, great. I just want the story to progress!
• Active players! I'd like for folks to post at minimum once every two days. If you can't make this, please let me know ASAP so we can skip you or delay a bit.

We can figure out a posting order once I've got some interest goin', but that's the gist of everything. If you've got comments or questions, hit me up here or shoot me a PM!

As a side note-- I'll go back and edit the original post to note this--I'd like it to be a group-of-people rp, around four folks. A group of players not TOO large, so we don't get bogged down if we have to wait on people.

Great! So that gives us about 3-4 more spots left, give or take (not all the spots have to fill up). Got any idea what/who you might want to play, Metal?

I'd like to play an outlaw, if that's possible.

Of course! The more the merrier! (We could do with some badguys. )

And mind you, some positions logically have more than one person or have spots under them. Shoot, even if one town has a sheriff, a neighboring town's sheriff might show up on some sort of business or something. I just need to get an idea of what everyone wants to play so we can put our heads together on where to drive the story.

Hmm I am thinking I could try my hand at a Judge, one who is easily swayed by bribes and threats. I can create a character for this.

With my outlaw character, should I start creating him as one of my characters?

@Mellute - Hi there! By all means if that's what tickles your fancy, have at that judge!

@Metal- And if that's what tickles YOUR fancy, if you want to stick to the outlaw and start making a profile for him, go for it!

So let's see, here is a re-cap so I don't have to read through all the replies again:
Four players so far (Five20 will not be joining us after all, unfortunately), so that leaves us with 1 or 2 spots left open. So far we have a judge, an outlaw, a saloon girl, and a tentative sheriff. I'm still being wishy-washy on what I want to play, exactly, my apologies! I'll try to wrap that up on my end by tomorrow.

There are lots of ways we could go with story lines, but let's get that last spot (or both) filled up before I go make an RP Discussion thread for this. Does that sound reasonable, folks?

That is a-okay with me. I made a vague character for mine (Hsu Lifen) and I can refine as other characters are finished I'm really excited by this.

I created a character, Darren for the roleplay, I'm still editing though. Also when I do the roleplay, imagine that the character is an outlaw instead of a criminal, because on his page I wrote him as a criminal.

I'm excited too, Caco!

And I doubt that distinction matters, metal. Outlaws are criminals, after all!

Edit: Reserving a spot for an interested party, so we have one more free spot left!

I'd love to join in! I could throw in a humanesque version of my dragon, Shadra, for this RP. I think I'd like to have her as a saloon girl; that'd be a sight!

With that, we're filled up! I'll go poke our reserved player when they get online, but I'll go ahead and go make an RP Discussion for this then so we can all work out stuff before we get rollin'!

I believed I'm the notorious reserved. I have a character that would be up for running the local bar/saloon.

We've discussed making a proper RPR Group for this setting, so I believe that 'spots open' thing is going to go out the window (which is fine). The group isn't set up yet, because I only recently heard back from all my original interested parties today, but when I do get around to it within the next day or so, I'll shoot you a message about it!
