"Hey no fair, that doesn't count as a question!" Jessebelle argued, relaxing against Neil. Somehow, he made her feel as if everything would be ok even though the world she knew was coming crashing down around her ears. "Ask me a real question."
"Alright alright. How surprised were you when I first came to pick you up?" Neil asked her.
"Very, In a weird sense I thought you were my night in shining armor finally coming to save me from that hell-hole." She brushed fiercely, surprised that she said that aloud. "How long have you been dead, if you don't mind my asking." She asked, trying to change the subject quickly.
"About nine years now." Neil said, he himself blushing from the knight in shining armor comment.
"Wow." She said, thinking that over a minute. "Your turn." She announced a couple minutes later, noticing that the ride was slowing down now.
"So you really have no friends during your childhood? You seem like a nice person." He asked.
"Not a single one, well not if I don't count you." She teased, jumping off the still moving merry go round and heading towards the bumper cars.
Neil froze time for everyone except the two of them for a moment and caught up with her, hoping their disappearance wouldn't be noticed as he unfroze it. "I wonder why we weren't raised together in the same place?" He asked.
"My father said it was because hell wasn't the place to raise a child...." Jessebelle shrugged once Neil had caught up, continuing to run to the bumper cars.
Neil shrugged in agreement. "Thats true. I'm just glad I found you before those boys weren't able to seriously hurt you."
Smiling, she dragged Neil into the bumper cart area and got in a pink cart.
Neil climbed into a black bumper cart and began to drive around the small area as the ride started, bumping into three people who had crashed into one another.
Laughing, Jessebelle aimed her car towards Neil, expertly dodging other cars while she tried to catch up with Neil.
Seeing her approach, Neil backed his car up and charged in the opposite direction, moving past her and getting someone who was chasing her.
Changing her direction as well, she managed to turn completely around and catch up to Neil, crashing into the back of his cart. "Haha!" She yelled, the ride coming to a stop after a couple minutes.
Once the ride came to a stop, Neil got out and looked at his watch. "Mistress, we have to head back soon before your father sends 'him' after us." Neil said as he looked up.
"Who's him?" She asked, walking towards the exit. "Can we ride just one more ride??" Jessebelle pleaded, using puppy eyes against him.
Neil smiled at her. "I think we can do that. But it has to be close by. All I'm going to say is he's essentially your father's go to man if someone who's not supposed to leave or not leave for long periods of time like us leaves to the physical plane. He rounds them back up and takes them back to the punishment division." He said.
"The swings it is." She said, walking with a determined pace towards the swings. "Ah, and then we get yelled at, well... mostly you...." She giggled, punching him in the arm to show she was joking.
Getting it was a joke, Neil laughed a little to himself and kept walking with her. "So should we tell the person running the orphanage you live at that your gone now?" He asked as they got in the nonexistent line.
