"Probably, or else the police are going to get my picture on every milk carton in the city." She said, climbing onto a swing once they finally got to the ride. Pointing to a swing nearby, she smiled and slid her flip-flops off so they wouldn't fly off.
Neil climbed into the nearby swing and kept his shoes on since he was wearing tennis shoes. "Alright we can do that tomorrow unless we somehow convince your dad to let us go later." He said, his voice sounding rather calm. "Speaking of which, I think it would be best if we kept the events of today to ourselves." He said.
"Why can't we just go after this? I thought it was ok as log as we weren't gone more than twenty-four hours." She pouted as the ride started up, raising them into the sky. Luckily while she had been talking to Neil she had buckled herself in, killing two birds with one stone.
"For whatever reason our time for today has been shortened. I must discuss it with the master later. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that we said we were just going to Starbucks and he somehow caught wind of it and just gave is enough time to go to Starbucks for a few hours." Neil began to speculate as he strapped himself in.
"That sucks." Jessebelle said dismissively as the swings started spinning in circles, causing them to feel like they were really flying through the air. There wasn't really much room for talking now, just enjoying the ride.
Neil sat in his swing as the ride started, looking around at their surroundings and occasionally at jessebelle.
"Whats the matter?" She yelled over the wind in her ears, seeing Neil looking around almost anxiously. Maybe he was worried about the guy that would bring us back if they didn't return on time, or maybe he was just looking around.
Neil looked over at jessebelle again. "Nothing. I'm just taking in the sights from up here." He yelled over the wind and screaming of others on the ride.
"Ok!" She yelled back, swinging her feet in the air. She felt like she was flying, free from the boundaries of gravity and souring above the earth like a beautiful bird. Feeling the ride stop after about five to ten minutes, she stopped swinging her legs and looked around at the ground, seeing a cloaked figure in the shadows of another ride. "What's that?" She asked Neil, no need to yell anymore.
Neil looked over at the cloaked figure and his eyes widened. "That would be our cue that we need to leave before we get in trouble. And by we I basically mean me." Neil grabbed her and picked her up once the ride was back on the ground, running towards the exit of the park or somewhere he could make a portal.
"So that's the guy that will take us back if we had stayed to long?" Jessebelle looked over Neil's shoulder, the guy gone from under the other ride. Looking forward again, she saw the man a little ways ahead of them in the middle of the sidewalk and he looked a little annoyed. "Neil watch out."
Neil looked in front of himself and saw the man, stopping dead in his tracks, waving awkwardly. "Hey there, buddy." He said, trying to be friendly.
Squirming in Neil's arm to get him to put her down, she stared at the man. He was tall, almost as tall as her dad.
(You be the guy, lol.)
(You be the guy, lol.)
The man looked at them from under his hood and held out his hand, teleporting them into the throne room where jessebelle's father was waiting. "Well, look who decided to return home. I gave you enough time to go to wherever that place you were going is called and now I find you tried to kidnap my daughter. You will be dealt with, boy." He said.
"Father, It wasn't his fault." Jessebelle started, unfortunately still in Neil's arms. "I asked to go to the amusement park and he said okay only because it was my wish." She tried defending Neil. Well, as much as she could. "When I asked if we had time for one more ride, he said yes but it had to be quick." She rattled on, staring her father in his eyes.
"Jessebelle, please. Do not defend the accused and go to your room." He ordered. Neil put her down to let her walk away.
Crossing her arms, she walked to the hallway she had entered yesterday and slammed the door behind her. It was bad enough Neil was getting punished for her actions, but she also had no clue how to get to her room. Walking a couple feet so she could no longer hear Neil and her father through the door, she leaned against the wall and sank to the floor.
If she listened, jessebelle would be able to hear Neil screaming in agony as he was undergoing his punishment. After ten minutes it stopped and Neil limped down the hallway covered in New burns, bruises, and cuts all over his body. "Mistress, it's over. Where are you?"
Since the hallway was so quiet she could hear every scream Neil made, no matter how soft it had been to him. Lifting her arm up, she waved to him from her spot on the floor. "I did't want to get lost trying to find my room, you might have never found me again."
Neil smiled weakly. "Maybe. Follow me please." He said as the two of them walked towards her room together.
