"Intellect?" Johann chuckled. "Looks like I'm not the only one with an ego, huh?"

Johann backed up, smile fading. "You could at least try to play nice."

Matt swallowed a bit. Yes, of course, he got his feelings hurt. Matt couldn't exactly be mad at him for it, but was it annoying for someone who didn't feel emotion in the first place.

"I was only stating the truth," he said. He wasn't about to apologize, because he didn't actually know he needed to. He would just soften up a bit, because he didn't want to spend the rest of the year with a mopey roommate.

Johann hummed and he spun in a circle, thinking for a moment. When he stopped he looked down at his feet before glancing up at Matt.

"No, you were right, I don't know you. But you don't know me either, but you already don't like me, huh? You didn't like me the moment you set your eyes on me. In fact I get the feeling you don't like most people. But like you said, I don't know you."

"Yup. And until you prove that you're.not stupid, I wont like you. And the odds of that happening are four to twenty, so I wouoldn't bother." He said, taking down his left hand from his face and leaning on the armrest of the couch he was on.

"But there's still a chance." Johann's face lit up at this, and he began walking out of the room. "I'm sure given some time we'll get along."

Matt let out a deep breath, not exactly excited for whatever the brunette had 0lanned. He took out a piece of gum--nicotine, but no one needed to know--and began to chew it, positioning himself so that he was laying down on the couch and closed his eyes.

Johann spent the rest of the evening in the room until they called everyone out to the cafeteria. Upon arriving there, he looked around for a couple of buddies before taking a seat near them. But then he went straight to looking for Matt, eyes attentive to his surroundings.

He was sitting in a window, back leaned against the side and his side against the window. This was a relatively high floor of the building, and he was looking out at the drab tundra landscaping as he ate the also drab lunch.

He'd arrived rather early to the cafeteria, having already looked at the schedule in the living quarters. He'd learned over the years that if you were in an odd place and early to something, people didn't notice you that often. However, if you were early and in an open spot, you were apparently a bright beacon of loneliness and of needing friendship, and people approached you much more frequently.

It took a while before Johann was able to spot Matt, and he had almost gave up in finding him but spotted him out of the corner of his eye last minute. He began standing, one of his "friends" asking where he was going. Johann simply claimed he was going to use the restroom, figuring the last thing Matt probably wanted was a group of druggies approaching him. Sure, he liked to mess with him but...he had his limits.

"Damn, you look grumpy even when I'm not bothering you." Johann teased as he approached the other, hands in his pockets.

"It usually prevents it," He said, lolling his head over and looking at him with half lidded eyes. "I guess not with you," He added, leaning over so that his nicely shoed feet were touching the ground.

"Oh no, I cant resist you." Johann wiggled his eyebrows. "Its not a good idea to be all alone though. Some of these guys are...aggressive. Come sit with me, yeah?"

He motioned to the table he was sitting at, a wide grin on his face. But it wasn't a cocky grin for once, although that didn't mean Johann was done bothering him.

Matt glanced from the people at the tables to Johann. "Drugs, all of them, right?" He asked. He wasn't going anywhere until he knew them substantially well.

"Yeeeepp..." Johann nodded slowly, looking back at them. "Good guys though, most of them came here on their own account even. Bit rowdy sometimes though."

Matt held back a shudder at 'rowdy', but nodded and stood up, leaving his tray without a glance and going to the table, putting his feet on the chair across him despite the bloke sitting there.

Johann followed, watching carefully. The others stared, but figured it was alright when Johann said nothing in regarding him leaving. They were actually a bit taken back by his next words.

"This is uh, Matt, he bunks with me now.: he said, and some people waved, one guy even smiled. Johann was just happy Matt even came over with him.

Matt cut the greetings off, immediately pinning down what they were in for. He looked at then each, then tugged at his hair a bit--a famous tell among the people who knew him that he was about to be a 'not-nice', as his mother liked to call it. "Meth, cocaine, and you..."He paused, "well, you're in the big substances, aren't you?" He asked, looking at a ginger guy at the table.

Two of them immediately looked down at the table while the ginger kept looking at him. Johann was silent, because although what Matt said was rude, it was true and in the end he hadn't really put them down in any way.

"Piss off," the ginger said, looking back at his food.

"Is in my opinion the dumbest comeback ever invented. It doesn't even make sense." He added. "It's just a more innocent way of saying '**** off', isn't it? I imagine some teenager made it up, maybe so that his parents wouldn't get angry in something that made him mad."

He was just blabbering, not exactly aware of how the others were acting or feeling--a prime example of Matt's inability to interact with people.

"Alright Matt we need to have a quick talk." Johann yanked at the back of his shirt lightly and motioned for him to follow. The others were getting a bit riled up now, seeing as Matt didnt seem to have much of a filter.

Matt stood up, preparing himself. He didn't think that it was going to be about what he'd done, since he found nothing wrong with it, and was in what one might call good spirits.
