Once upon a time are the words said about the time of ancients. All they think of is the stories about us. Never have they searched for our truth. Though we still breathe, we hide from the light of knowledge.
We hide for the fear of our extinction. Our beliefs are no more, our gods perishing from how we slipped into the shadows.
No one knows where we went. All they know is from their stories, their songs. Many who seek us out never find us or go missing in attempt.
Dragons, elves and fae alike. All gone, all have disappeared. Our time has gone but we still exist. Only time shall tell if we are to be known again.
If you were to find this book and choose it amongst the others, may you believe in these words. There is a world outside that is waiting for the right moment to reveal itself.
Aurae stared at her writing before taking a deep breath and closing the book. It was a leather bound book with beautiful gold etchings within the old leather. Silver letters embroidered the words of the title: The Ruins of the Ancients.
She ran her pure white fingertips along the edge once and gathered up her courage before softly sliding it between two books of the large bookshelf. She was currently in a library, hiding in the back. She needed a place where one could find her book and take it.
Aurea was taking a risk leaving her book here. It was full of information about fae and dragons. She hesitated and pulled the hood of her dark grey cloak, making sure it was covering her face.
Being quick and cautious, she avoided the librarian and walked right out the door into the busy streets of the village. She walked a bit with the crowd before vanishing when no one was paying attention to her.
She appeared in the forest outside of the village. Taking one last look at the village, she whispered a prayer with her silken and smooth voice." May the gods choose the right one." She then turned and walked deeper into the forest.
(Okay, she's not gone from the RP. She's just hidden until someone finds the book because she'll come back later on to check for the book[just giving you hints in case you want them to meet early on ]. Also, it is medieval to slightly modern. Hope it's not too boring as a starting post.)

It was tall. It thudded with heavy steps down a few flights of stairs behind a hidden door at the very rear of the library, a part of the village that had been long forgotten and buried under generations of urban development.
It was pitch black in this part of the old library. Light hadn't touched this area in a long time, but Greynaught was used to it after the first few years; he knew what paths led where and how long it took to make a full round around his assigned area. He paused mid-step as he felt a sudden surge of energy somewhere above him, his glowing teal eyes drawn to the direction of the book Aurae had left behind. He almost broke out of his set path that he had marched for over 300 years but stopped to ponder the repercussions that may occur.
His last master had told him to stay and guard the untold knowledge contained within the books around him. True enough, a certain power did indeed radiate slowly off the books... But this new book above him had more power than any one of the other books. Would his master want him to break from his path and guard this new book? What would his master do if he found out he had disobeyed? Greynought thought long and hard - almost a few hours of thinking - But eventually came to the conclusion that his master would be even more upset if he lost the chance to add a new book to his private collection.
Greynaught broke from his path and wandered vaguely towards the stairs that spiraled up to the surface where the current library was.

As the guards run right past Ryder, not knowing the crime that he had just commited. He hands his little dog some bacon and looks out from the corner of the shop. He sees a good place to hide from the guards, an old library. As he dashes in, his little dog follows. There are no people in at the time that he can see. He goes to the darkest corner and climbs the stairs to the newer part of the library. When Ryder reaches the top he takes his dog and hides him in his cloak, because no animals are allowed in the library. Ryder walks to a section and looks for new books, but not finding any in this section as he walks to another section some guards barge in and look around. When they see Ryder they dash at him with swords out.
Greynaught made it to the top of the winding stair case and saw that the old door had been bricked over when he opened it. Slightly deterred by this he had wondered why he had been in the lowest levels for so long without any company aside from rats or dying animals from time to time. Now he knew why, he had been forgotten and abandoned long ago. Was he still to carry out his mission? Or should he just leave now that he could only imagine his fragile master to be long dead?
He felt the alluring power of the book just beyond the brick wall, the curiosity was just too much. Greynaught took a step back before giving the wall a good ramming. Stone, brick, mortar and books exploded out of the back of the library. Greynaught picked up the now dust covered book and put it away into his hollow armor body, it was then that he noticed that there were others around. A dark looking man with what appeared to be a dog and several armed guards carrying swords, all of them stunned at Greynaught and ho he had burst out of seemingly nowhere. Greynaught's glowing eyes blinked as if unsure what he had just barged into.

Ryder, stunned as the wall collapsed and a hollow suit of armor picked up a book and put it in his chest. Then Ryder looked behind himself and saw the guards. Quickly, he grabbed the nearest two and smashed their heads together, making them unconscious. The other two snap back into reality and one goes to attack the suit of armor, and the other goes to attack Ryder. Ryder, grabs the guards arm and slams him into a wall. Then he takes the guards sword and stabs the other, with his back turned. Ryder looks at the armor and just stares.
It had been hours since she had left her book and she was worried put of her mind. She gathered her courage once more and traveled towards the village. On her way to the library, she sensed a ruckus in the library. She bit her bottom lip and his nearby. She wanted to see if anyone would come out. She didn't want to be seen for people would either attack her or stare. She watched the doors through the shadows of her cloak.
Ryder takes one last look at the armor and dashes out the door, carful not to step on the guards. He grabs his dog and is down the street and sees someting in the shadows. Curious, he looks In the shadows.
Greynaught stood there and waited for the dark man to say something; a greeting, a command, a question... But instead the man left without a word leaving Greynaught in a badly damaged library with a small squad of guards. One by one they began to wake up, a couple of them were badly injured but would live. The guards barked orders to one another for a while as Grey just stood there, two guards picked up the other two that were injured and hobbled away out of the building.
There are now four guards, one by the door, one by the window and two on either side of Greynaught. Grey stood stoically, he knew what would happen next and was prepared. The two on the sides charged forward, in a flash Greynaught unsheathed his sword and shield from his back plating and took up a defensive stance. He blocked the one to the right with the fuller of his massive sword and pushed back with his shield on his left, both went flying into the other guards from the sheer strength of Greynaughts blocking. Two guards flew out the window and two fell out of the doorway into the empty square, Grey followed to check on their condition - all four out cold.
Grey looked back at the library, his home for the past 300 years... Guess there wasn't much point in guarding those dusty tomes any longer. Grey looked up with his glowing eyes and faced the sun for the first time in a long time. "Bᴇᴀᴜᴛɪғᴜʟ...", his voice echoed from within the armor.

Aurea noticed the man and was about to step back until she noticed the huge creature behind him." A Phantom?" She whispered. It'd had been almost a thousand years since she last saw one. Her golden eyes glowed brightly from beneath the grey cloak before turning a royal blue then to a rosy purple. She watched them both for a bit before sensing her book.
She stood where she was, staring back at the man. She was tempted to go to them but the sight of guards approaching the Phantom and the man made her hesitate. She didn't want to be found out.

Ryder saw that the thing in the shadows hesitated and he wondered why. Ryder turns around to see the armor and some more guards chancing the armor. " don't worry thing in the shadows the armor and I also don't like the guards we are on a team I guess. He holds out his right hand towards the guards and a black sword starts forming out of nothing. He then charges at the guards and parties the first's blow to the left the he backhands his sword into the guards side. Ryder quickly turns his head to see that the armor and the thing in the shadows are talking. He then turns back his head to the guards. Ryder jumps to the side of an attack by a guard then he holds out his left hand and flames begin to shoot out, melting the armor of the other guards. Ryder stops the flames, then his sword begins to break apart back into nothing. "What are you two taking about over here?" He asks the armor and the thing in the shadows.
((OCC: You may want to re-read my last post...))
((OCC: The guards are taken care of, no need to kick a dead horse. And please do not god-mod my character by making him interact with other characters without any mention of the said action on my part.))
Greynaught watched as the dark man continued to harass and torment the guards even after Grey had taken care of them without severely injuring them, it was very poor sporting to Greynaught. Grey wanted to help but he wasn't sure who's side he should be on...
Upon being addressed Greynaught looks around, was he near someone else? He didn't notice anyone right away, just himself, the dark man, and the four scared guards.

((OCC I meant that more guards came out , because they heard the other one fall out of the library, and sorry for making your character do stuff.))
((OCC: Its okay as long as you learn for this. Be sure to take extra care with your writing, everyone needs to understand what you are trying to convey. How were we supposed to know without you telling us that there were more guards? Focus on quality - not quantity. Best of luck!))
Aurae blinked before taking a step out of the shadows. She pulled at her hood with a white hand, making sure it covered her face before letting her hand drop beneath the cloak. She looked at the shadow man." Few can do what you just did." She kept her voice soft, scared to speak louder for she didn't want attention drawn to her.
She looked up at the Phantom and studied the huge creature. In her human form, she felt so small compared to him.

Grey turned to face the fair woman who stepped out from the shadows of a nearby alleyway. She was gorgeous, silken white hair, pale moon skin, a soft voice that could make birds sing in reply. Grey found himself momentarily befuddled so he did the only thing he could think of. He knelt on one knee and bowed as low as his armored form would allow.
When Greynaught looked up he saw for a fleeting moment that this splendorous lady had a hidden spark within her. She was something else that was not entirely human, Greynaught looked away in case he stared at her for too long.
"M'ʟᴀᴅʏ..." Greynaughts voice echoed withing his armor.

"Umm... Sorry to interrupt but, do you know each other?" Ryder asks the armor. Ryder then walks over to the opposite wall and slinks down to the ground. He then takes out his dog and feeds him some bacon and let's him drink from a nearby puddle.
Greynaught stands to attention, "Nᴏ sɪʀ, ʙᴜᴛ ɪᴛ ɪs ᴄᴜsᴛᴏᴍᴀʀʏ ᴛᴏ ᴛʀᴇᴀᴛ ᴀʟʟ ᴡᴏᴍᴇɴ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴛʜᴇ ᴜᴛᴍᴏsᴛ ʀᴇsᴘᴇᴄᴛ." Grey replied in a very official sounding tone. He paused as he watched the man feed his pet under the current situation. It just seemed a bit... Odd.
(OOC: I only made out part of that I'm stuck on NIHH)
Aurea blushed slightly when the Phantom knelt before her." Do not do that, dear Phantom. I am no one special." She looked over at the man." You seem to attract attention of the wrong sort. By your aura, you have practiced the art of the shadows. It's been years since I saw one like you." Her eyes turned a soft emerald.

"Art of shadows you may call it, but only those pure of heart can learn it. Those guards killed my parents. So they i have to get my revenge any way I can. I used live in this town, until my parents died. I moved into the dark realm if that is why you call it, but to me it is home. Also, I'm Ryder and my dog here is Harpy. Who are you?" Ryder says while he continues to feed his dog bacon. Ryder also takes a bite of bacon.
"I am Aurae Silith, a Lady of the Skies." She bowed." I came to seek those worthy to come to the forgotten realms." She looked at both of them." Both of you seem worthy to me. I can tell despite how young I look." She smiled, her eyes turning a deep blue.
