This is why you shouldn't lie to your mom lololololol.

"periods don't have glitter on them" is the greatest thing ever said. Ever.
This was amazing. I'm posting this to facebook oh my god haha.

I wonder if it's really like that now?

I remember being terrified lol. Thought I had cervical cancer (a lot of my family members have had it or pre-cancer) and was dying. :( Lol.
So, yesterday, the creative/marketing team at work shared that video in a meeting.

That, and "Sometimes you just gotta wait."

1. It's a commercial and they were like, "It's great, and we should work on doing more brilliant stuff like this.

2. I work at an awesome place full of awesome people with senses of humor.

Why wouldn't they? It's a commercial they have successfully gotten you and half of facebook to willingly show their friends. That's some brillllliant marketing.

The thing that really throws me every time I see this commercial is... Why did she put the nail polish on the pad at all? Did she think her friends were going to ask to see proof?? Usually that's the kind of thing you can just take someone's word for. >.> The moon party itself cracks me up, though.
Who's to say what's going to go viral though? I mean, a few weeks ago it was the Luigi death stare. It's about as random as the internet gets and any damned thing can do it.
What I don't get is why would she WANT her period. They are nasty nasty things that mean the death of many panties.

I guess that just adds to the weirdness of this commercial.

Yeah. I don't know why anyone would want their period. XD It sucks to have it.
Although when I was young I freaked the hell out, I still did want mine and was excited when I got it. My mom told me I was a woman now and that it was a big deal.

But at the same time I had no idea what was going on despite being told what periods were hahaha.

So I can understand wanting to have it, especially if all your friends have had it and are making a big deal about being 'more grown up' than you.
I guess I never cared since I was homeschooled and most of my friends' families were uber conservative so puberty and such were taboo topics. And my mom didn't make a big deal out of it. It was just a fact of life... Nothing to celebrate as I saw it. Honestly, I don't think having a period makes that much of a difference in terms of maturity. Some girls get it and are still just as childish as they were before. But again, it was never made into a big deal by my parents or friends, so I never learned to think of it as being a big deal.

For the same reason 5 year olds play mommy and daddy. Having your period means you are growing up and becoming a woman (a teenager going through puberty, that is) just like the adult ladies you look up to.

I think it mostly depends on how you're raised and what sort of outside influence you get. My parents have always been very open to me about it and I was introduced to it when I was 10 years or so, with the message "in the next few years, this will start happening to you too". It was new and different and with some of my friends getting their period before me I was excited to start getting them myself. It made me feel like I belonged with the teen girls rather than being stuck with the 'kids' and that I was closer to the much anticipated adulthood.

That and all the different feminine hygiene products were like god damn quantum physics. I didn't know the difference between pads and liners and tampons are even more of a big deal when you're a virgin because that's some scary shit. XD
This video is exemplary of my mum towards my younger siblings who are so excited about the wonders of puberty. For a while my sister pretended to (mum thought it hilarious) whilst I flipped my life because EXCUSE YOU PRINCESS, pads are expensive!!
I never got the wonders of wanting to fit in though, I was TEN. No one knew what menstruation was in my social group! Meanwhile I'm crying because I just wanted to move to Nederland.
Of course my mum wasn't ready for early puberty so she didn't forewarn me and that's the story of how I thought I was dying from a period. It certainly felt it, I got massive cramps from day dot.
