A middle aged man sat silently in a well lit, yet still somehow dark room. He was in the center of the room, sitting at a red-wood desk and sitting in a high-backed armchair. The floor beneath him was dark mahogany, and the walls were lined with floor to ceiling book shelves full of of old, leather bound books, their spines facing outwards.
The whole room suddenly shook, the chandelier above the desk jingling. The room shook again, and again, until the massive, black double doors began to shake as something tried to open them. The wood splintered then came apart near the hadle as a large, gloved hand burst through.
The man in the center of the room stood up and quickly rushed to the door.
"No no no! Stop it, you buffoon! It's a door, not a fighter jet!" he said and began to push the heavy wood until the being behind it stepped away. When the door opened, a massive, figure clad in a diving suit was standing there, a drill affixed to his arm. He looked down at the man, the light in his visor, turning from yellow to green.
"Step in... And be careful not to break anything..." he grumbled and the being walked in. "We still have another coming in. You'll have to wait," he said then sat in his chair again.

"There's a third person?" Archer asked, stepping out from the shadows. "If not, I'm sorry for not speaking up earlier, I thought you knew I was in here." He walked to a bookshelf and looked at the titles of the books.

The man jumped and the light in the visor of the suited being turned yellow.
"Jesus, kid! How'd you get in here?! There is only one door and one window, and the window can't open! All the vents are too small for any human! What the hell?!" the man growled at Archer.

"My means of entry are of no importance. But if you insist on knowing, I will have to disappoint you and say that a ninja never reveals his methods." Archer said, lifting his mask a little to scratch his face. "Now, shall we get down to business?"

He grumbled a little bit and rubbed his temples as he sat down again.
"Fine fine..." he took a file from a locked drawer in the desk and opened it on top of the desk. In it were three sheets of paper, each with a photo paper-clipped to it. The first one was of a hooded man in his mid twenties, the second of a brunette woman in her forties and the third was of a little girl, no older than 10.
"The first two I need dead," he began, "They both work for ECHO industries and are under heavy surveillance and guard at all times. The little girl, I need her returned to me. She was taken from me and I want her back." he said softly and sadly, "Now, do you have any questions?"
The diving-suit creature blinked it's "eye" and lifted a hand.
"Yes, I know that you are called subject Echo and the fact that this company is also called Echo is a mere coincidence. Anything else?"

"Yes, a few. First, where do we find them? Second, how heavy is heavy guard? And lastly, do you have any preferred methods or tactics that you would like us to use?" Archer asked, looking at his new partner, trying to figure out what he could do.

"Everything you need to know is on these papers, from their routines to their family history. Do whatever you need to, but just get my daughter back," he said firmly.
The man in the diving suit, Subject Echo, or just Echo, let out a whale-like tone then looked at Archer, the porthole-like circle in his helmet turning from yellow to green, then he held out a massive, gloved hand to the teen.

"I figured she was your daughter. And don't worry, I'll make sure we bring her back as soon as we can." Archer said. He turned to the other man. "Are you wanting to shake my hand? And although I myself am usually quiet, that doesn't mean I understand quiet person speak. It's different for everyone. Is there a way we can communicate easier?" Archer asked, tilting his head and putting his hands up slightly. "No offense was meant."

Echo had assumed that sticking your hand out was Universally understood as a desire to shake hands. Had things changed that much since he was human?
He pulled his gloved hand back then turned back to the man and grabbed the papers, which he held up to his porthole. He analyzed each one before handing them to Archer.

"Sorry if I hesitated when you wanted to shake my hand, but the size of your hand seemed menacing." Archer said apologetically. He took the papers, and after looking over them, he put them in his robe. "Though we still need a solid way to communicate..."

Echo shrugged his hefty, armored shoulders and looked to the man for a suggestion.
"I dunno. Take care of it. All I care about is you getting the job done. So just do it..." he thought for a moment then looked at Archer, "Also, kid. It's the 20th century. Lose the robes. You look ridiculous," he said as he walked back to the door and held it open.

Archer waited until the man looked away before moving. When the man turned back, Archer was already on the other side of the door. "My teacher taught me the way of the ninja very well, so I wear these robes in his honor. Also, they make my movements silent." Archer said. "And I am never anywhere too long for people to notice these robes completely anyways. And they come with two added bonuses. One, great storage. The other, quick change of look. I take them off and anyone chasing me runs by. But only if they don't see me take off the robes..."

"Doesn't change that you look ridiculous... It makes you very conspicuous. Aren't "ninjas" supposed to blend in? Not look like they hopped out of a bad movie?" he criticized, "Just get out. Don't come back unless you have my daughter."

"Ok fine, these are the only things I have to wear." Archer admitted. "But the other stuff I said is still true." He sulked a little. "Come on Iron Man, let's go." Archer called to his partner as he walked down the hall, shoulders drooping a little bit.

"Iron man?" he thought, "This suit is made of leather and stainless copper... And bronze..." he let out a whale-like sigh and then tapped a finger to the right corner of his chest, which read "Echo."
Communication really was going to be a pain, but he'd figure something out. He began think of things as he followed the boy out.

Archer turned when he heard the sigh, and saw that the man in the suit was pointing to a name. "Oh, sorry friend, didn't notice that was your name." Archer apologized. "Though you should take my comment of Iron Man as a compliment. He had a few great movies about him..." he said, facing forward again.

"The man said it was my name… When he talked about the organization we're targeting…" he thought to himself then shrugged again and looked down at Archer. He didn't know what exactly a movie was, but he didn't care too much.
As they walked, the relative quiet broken up by Echo's heavy footfalls, the machination continued to try and think of ways to communicate, but not many came to mind. He could try writing things down, but that would be a challenge given the proportions of his hands to most pencils, along with the fact he hadn't written anything in years. That was actually all he could think of, and he let out an irritated, cetacean moan.

Archer suddenly stopped. "Not to sound rude, but you are capable of thought, right?" he asked. "If so, hold up three fingers. I might have an idea."

Echo stops and his port-hole light turns yellow as he glares down at Archer, an angry growl emanating from him.
"Capable of thought?! Who does he think he is? I'm intelligent!" he thinks to himself but at the same time holds three fingers up to him.

"Maybe I can get the Shadows- wait, no." Archer said. "Forget I suggested anything." He turned and kept walking.
