Sweet and Psycho (played by whimsicalpianist)

Somewhere in America is a little town named Vermillion,{Not really but all well}. The town is known for how peaceful it is there, and the friendly residents certainly help boost the towns good reputation. No one could imagine a crime as bad as murder ever happening in the sweet little city. But, looks can be painfully deceiving. In the green fields with wild flowers, once a day once a week has gone missing in the past month. And when the person is found they are found dead somewhere amongst the wild flower fields. And the murderer has struck once again, their work found in a park in the early morning.

Yellow tape saying; 'Do not cross', traced the perimeter of the park. It stretched as far as the eye could see. Many children wouldn't be going to the park first thing in the morning this time, well those that have parents to stop them at least. Outside, among the crowd stood out two teenagers. A girl and a young girl. Fat tears were rolling down her pale face, and her shoulder quaked with each breathe she sucked in. The boy next to her was still, his face the devoid of all emotion.

The boy and girl were both extremely pale, but the girl had pink and white hair and the boy had black and white hair. They both wore a hoodie that was also split in between pink and white, or black and white. Liam's hoodie looked like an odd panda hoodie, but Lacie's looked like a two color bunny hoodie. They were pretty colorful for such a bleak day. Even the sun seemed to be hiding from the crimes that had been committed.

"Another dead person, huh."Liam said in a whisper. His sister nodded slowly before burying her face in Liam's sleeve. He looked at her with a cold expression that soon faded. She had been the one to find the victim. Liam knew that one for sure, he had never seen Lacie run that fast before. With a sigh, he patted her on the head and rubbed her back. Even he thought that Lacie shouldn't have seen something like a mangled corpse. She was too sweet, too kind.

"Can we go home?"Lacie sobbed into his sleeve. Liam shook his head,"No, we have to stay here for the detective. At least that's what the police told me.."He answered , but his answer only made her wail. Lacie resorted to begging and pleading with her brother, but he didn't move. He was like the parks new statue, only on the edge of the park instead on in the park.

Vermillion.

What a delightful little nightmare.

First of all, who in their right mind would call a town Vermillion? It was ungratifying. It was always like that, with these little towns. Goofy name, nice villagers, and the mayor transformed into cthuthlu at dinner. Just brilliant.

Second of all, I was in America. Drat. It wasn't that I had anything against America, strictly speaking...okay, so it was too hot, people always nearly ran me over, and there were charutes. Oh, and everyone seemed to have a shotgun hidden in their cupboard. But apart from that, I didn't really have anything against this psychotic country. It was just that everybody ended up trying to murder me, sooner or later.

And third, there was a murder in a park. That was always fishy. No psychopathic killing murderer in his or hers (because it happens) right mind would kill someone in a park. It's just unethical, scarying all those little children like that! A good, proper murder, say, in a dark alley, with all the bits and pieces spread all over the place, where no prying mind could see, now that was nice. This? Just sloppy, really.

And here I was, investigating. Not that I'd investigate some foolishness like this out of a hobby, but I had a few contacts. Something unhuman was going on here, I was certain of it.

And for your information, I bet it was the little kid. It always is, in towns like this.

I approached the murder scene in my favourite - and currently most appropriate, given the circumstances- form.

I currently had dark hair, and good cheekbones, and was wearing snakeskin shoes, and my eyes were hidden by sunglasses.

I also was wearing a nice sharp italian suit, which ...suited me. Look, a pun. How exciting.

And so I approached two mortal policemen, handing them a card saying [Prof.] NIKOLA TESLA* in fancy cursive letters. They took some five seconds to read the whole thing, which gave me time to examine them.

BLOKE ONE was reedy, with a large nose and closed eyebrows. Nice outfit, though. And with a gun. How very quaint.

BLOKE TWO was taller and blond, a sargeant.

"Mr. Tesla. Our boss mentioned someone with your name was coming. Come on, you need to see this." BLOKE TWO said, lifing the tape and heading towards the swings.

BLOKE ONE sniffed. "Professor, eh? Well, I don't know what you're doing here, but I hope you can crack this nut. The bodies are not in...a good shape."

"Wonderful. And here me thinking that I shouldn't have eaten breakfast so early..." I muttered, following them.

Wow.

*I met the original one, you know, and I liked the name. Very fancy. Very nice. To stop (or prolongue) confusions, however, I generally threw in the NIKOLA ALEXANDER TESLA at people. They defaultly believed I was his descendant or something. Fancy that, eh? I doubted these villagers would even recognize the name, though, being ...well,really dim and all.

Liam, well keeping his litter sister close, took a few steps back. In fact, it seemed like he was now trying to shield her from everything that was happening around them. Lacie seemed to hit some soft spot with the boy, either that or ha wasn't sure what to think about this 'Professor'. His two different colored eyes narrowed in suspicion.

Lee couldn't see why anyone would wear a suit like that to crime scene. What if something happened that would ruin the mans suit? That little devious cracked a small smirk on Liam's face. But, he wasn't going to do anything, this time anyways. At the moment he just wanted his sister to stop crying like a baby.

Lacie peeked at the man, and then hid again. This was the man she was going to talk to? She wasn't sure if she could do something like that.
Merrin (played anonymously)

Oh, dear.

"Well, this gives a new definition to nasty.*" I murmured, crouching over the body and wincing at the dirt getting on my suit. Oh, well. It was better than coming in one of those ...those police outfits. Just the thought of it gave me the idea of shooting myself. On the left eye.

The body was of a ...woman. Probably, anyways, with the amount of wounds it had. The clothes were slightly edged, as if she had struggled in the dust of the park. Parts of her hair had been pulled off. And the throat, of course, was not exactly in a good shape.

One of the hands was curled up, burnt like a Guy Fawkes made of dinamite on Bonfire Night. The other was equally burnt, but why wasting a few words on saying the obvious?

And the teeth...don't even get me started on the teeth.

Actually, I'd take a mental picture of this. This form might come in useful later, one never knows. I'd add a few other items, of course. Probably a few blades out of the left foot. That would go in nicely. Or a swollen eye. Hmm.

Shrugging, I stood up, eyeing the brave BLOKE TWO, who was busy gloriously struggling against the terrible yellow tape. The tape was winning.

"Well, I'll assume this was not a sexual assault, obviously. Robbery gone wrong? Nah. This gir- this person still has money in her clothes. A lot of it. The most obvious theory is that this is of the work of a psychopath, or a ritualistic crime. Notice the teeth? "

What a stupid question. Who'd not notice the teeth? Still, it was nice to ask. You never know, they might have not.

"All of them, chunked off. Notice the peculiarity of the burnt hands, and only burnt hands? He or they split her throat after torturing her. Now then, mates, the question is as follows- "

I said, raising a gloved hand. BLOKE TWO was still in his fight against the tyraniccal tape, and BLOKE ONE- the thin one- was listening distractedly.

Gosh.

"I believe the time of death between eleven o'clock and half past two. So why would this woman be in the park at so late hours? And, of course, who killed her? Notice the fight markings. The scratching. The criminal was not that tall, compared to her. " I mused.

Actually, I'd suspect of sympathetic magic at work, given the teeth. But it was odd. A symapthetic magic user would only steal one, and obviously leave the woman alive.

I straightened up, taking off my black gloves.

"So, who found the body?"

*Well, not really. I've seen far worse. But still, it was nice to give the idiot policemen something to think about while I went on examining the body. It shut them up, for a start.

Liam tilted his head, for someone who seemed as arrogant as him was pretty good at playing detective. The older brother tried to focus on what was being said but the officer having issues with the yellow tape kept distracting him. He huffed as he pushed down on the tape that like he was trying to make his morning even more difficult. "Hey Lace, the poor fool is having a few issues, amusing isn't it?"Liam asked his sister.

Lacie gave him a small giggle,"It is pretty funny."She agreed. And then she shuddered, Liam also heard what the professor ask the other officer. The teenage boys response was,"Oi, Professor arrogant!"He called out, Lacie squeezed his arm, tight. "Lace, stop , that hurts!"He snapped.

I turned around, noticing the pair that lingered nearby.

Oh, well isn't that nice?

I approached them slowly, taking a nearby officer's chair and sitting, nay, lounging in front of them.*

"Professor arrogant, eh? Says the person who looks like a colourblind goth on drugs. Tell me, have you been shouting "by the power of grayskull!" much?" I asked cheerfully, raising an eyebrow, and my sunglasses glinting, yea, shining in the morning sun.

*No, I certainly did not offer them a chair. I'm sorry, did you not hear the "professor arrogant" part? Children these days.

Liam smirked again, was that really the best the guy had? That was weak to say the least. However, when he went to answer his sisters little sniffled seemed to have taken all the fight out of him. "..Okay, prick number one, stop acting like that. You're scaring my little sister."He said, although it sounded more like an order.

Lacie looked at Lanthe,"..uhh. h-h-hello.."She started. Within that one word her face began to turn a bright red. Once again she buried her face, hiding behind her brother.
Merrin (played anonymously)

I couldn't help but laugh, and my laugh was... well, slightly nasty.

"Oh, please, spare me. I believe you're doing a good job scaring her all by yourself. Besides, I am not the prick number one. That bloke with the chairs is prick number one. That bloke on his conquest against the dark armies of the Yellow Tape is prick number two. I'm simply a passer-by, teddy boy." I said, slowing down and saying the last part as I noticed his hoodie/jacket/whatever.

Then I turned to the girl, who had white and pink hair, matching her jacket.*

"Hello. So then, these questions..."

*Okay, so these kids were weird. If I went with the theory that she had her haired dyed, there is a question to be asked: why? Just why? Did she always wear the same clothes to match? What terrible life choices.

Liam frowned, his eyes narrowing at the man with look of disdain. Who did this guy think he was? The president, the freaking pope?! He kept his mouth shut, the little gears in his head spinning around fast. "My name is Liam, remember that."He hissed.

Lacie looked from her older brother to Lanthe. She tightened her grip on Liam's arm until her older brother winced. It seemed like he was going to speak for her today. "Owww! Quit that!"Liam snapped, trying to wiggle him aching arm out of her grasp. "What questions?"He asked him.

I was enjoying this. Oh, sure, sure, it wasn't a great battle of wits against an annoying little kid, but it was early and I was not in my best shape, so I was enjoying myself. Not that the kid person was the best person for an eclectic argument of great proportions.

I smiled like a snake, something I mastered with this form. I was using all of my self control not to do weird things with my tongue.

"How could I forget a person so excruciatingly annoying like you?*" I asked cheerfully before turning towards the sister, growing serious for a moment. "I understand you were the first person to find the body? And no, please don't squeak and let your brother talk. I want to listen to you." I finished.

*I rarely forgot anything, despite sometimes wanting to. Take 2014's Fifa World Cup, a year ago. What a disaster.

Liam looked at him, his one free hand was clinched into a tight fist. If he wanted to, and if they're weren't as many people and officers around he would punch him. Hard. But not only were there a lot of people, his little sister was also around, and seemed deathly afraid of mister fancy pants. "Oh wow, that's a large word for someone like you."Liam hissed.

She looked at him, then her eyes went to the floor. "...b-but.."Lacie didn't know what to say. She didn't know this man, and he was a bit like her brother. Well, she was judging this off of how they choose to instigate each other so willingly. "..I'll try to answer...now..what is it you want to know...?"She asked, trying to seem not at shy.
Merrin (played anonymously)

I noticed his fist curling up. "Oh, don't do it, sonny. Be polite to your elders. And anyway, someone like me? In case you didn't notice, I'm a professor, you daft kid. Now shut up, in the name of the law.*" I replied cheekily before turning towards his rather more polite sister.

"Okay, at what time did you find the body? And yes, I know the police have already asked you this question. But I want to know by myself." I stated slowly, my whole cheeky reparture lost.

And as I talked and answered, another part of my mind dedicated itself at observing them. I had scented something weird.

They were human. But they weren't.
Oh, dear...

*Or something.

If looks could kill then the Professor, as he put it, would be convulsing in his chair right now. With an agitated huff, Liam crossed his arms and looked away from him. This man wasn't worth the time of his day at any given time. Of course, he did want to say something despite being told to be quiet in the name of the law. However, his sister shakeing stopped him from saying anything.

"..Well..I.I was walking a-around the park at about 8 this morning. And then.."She trailed off, squeezing her differently colored eyes shut. She didn't like seeing the girl lying on the ground, dead and still. Just the thought made shrives go throughout her little body.
Merrin (played anonymously)

I didn't say anything, ignoring the kid's stare blisfully, but obviously noting it. Frankly, if he thought I'd be intimidated by that, then he'd better wake up to reality .*

"Why?" I asked the girl. My tone was not flat and inexpressive.

And my other mind was examining them, looking for clues, looking for resources, looking for anything tha-

The hair. The clothes. The scent. The obvious warring personalities. So they were now humans, but before they were what?

*Seriously. Lockstone's glares, compared to his, was like comparing a dragon to a fossilized lizard. I'm not sure she would have liked this comparison, though...
...the dragon fitted her.

"I liked hearing the birds sing in the morning. I like the flowers in this city, so I thought that I would take a little walk!"Lacie said cheerfully, and smiled. Although, her smile soon faded as she recalled finding the girl."..and then I was walking I tripped over her.."She said, pointing in the direction of the body. Her finger shook when she trembled at the memory.

Liam, still ignoring him, looked at his little sister. He breathed out a long sigh and ruffled her hair a bit. "It's alright, Lace. Once we're done here we can go get something sweet, alright?"He suggested. To Lacie that sounded like a wonderful idea.
Merrin (played anonymously)

I watched her carefully, thoughtful. Something fishy was going on. I mean, if they were supernatural entities, it didn't mean that they were the murderers...still. And the boy looked sufficiently lunatic, if you know what I eman.

I didn't cross the girl out, though. You never know...*

"Well, I see. Next question, ...Lacie, right? What were you doing before walking in the park? Were there any witnesses? What about your brother?" I asked, leaning closer.

*There was this one case I had in Toronto, around ten years ago. Bodies were found strewn around the streets, with their heart ripped out, and a little panflet saying HAPPY VALENTINE! alongside them. Dreadful stuff. I found it was a psychic woman who was unaware of her powers, and unleashed them after her boyfriend broke up with her. Talk about romantic depression...
Sweet and Psycho (played by whimsicalpianist) Topic Starter

He leaned closer, and Lacie took many small steps back. Unless it was Liam, she didn't like it when people got close to her in the slightest. It made her feel like they were studying her or something like that. Lacie nodded when he asked if that was her name, and then looked at the ground as he piled on even more questions. "Be-before I came to the park I eat breakfast, and the only other person that seemed to be around was my brother and a man. He was watching us.."She answered.
Merrin (played anonymously)

Oh, of course there was a man. I bet he advanced towards you with a knife, threatened you, and then your brother punched him bravely and you two managed to run away. Please. Spare me., I thought grimly. I'd even ask about the parents, but she'd be even more nervous. Parents, laugh that one off. They wouldn't have any: it was always like that.

This was intriguing, actually. I mean...

Wait a minute. Their bodies were new, I could at least sense that. Five years at the most. Probably less. But they were older, much older. Thirty? Fourty?

"Okay, a question for you, then." I asked, turning to the boy, pratically rotating the chair. "When did you get here?"
Sweet and Psycho (played by whimsicalpianist) Topic Starter

Lacie looked at her older brother, whom at the moment was watching Lanthe. His head tilted, as if trying to understand the man sitting in front of them. He could tell that he was thinking about something ,but what? Oh why couldn't he be blessed with the power to read minds, maybe he could understand him a bit better. Liam didn't know if his sister could sense it, but he could sense that this man wasn;t who he claimed to be. And there was no fooling Liam.

The younger girl tilted her head, did that mean he was down questioning her? Oh the thought made her calm down enoguh to breathe calmly again.

"I don't know, about a week ago? Why?"Liam asked, there was a coldness in his voice. Obviously, Liam wasn't too fond of this professor.
Merrin (played anonymously)

I grinned madly, like the Cheschire cat on drugs.*

"I mean here. Here, as in the crime scene. Here, as in seeing your sister screaming wildly while running around in circles. Here as in seeing a woman ripped apart. Here, as in her hands burned and her mouth empty."

This was getting better and better.

*Don't. Just don't. It gets worse, believe me.
